Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 560: Chapter 559: Seeking the Fastest Clearance Strategy!

”Huh?”

Black Crow looked up, only to see a man in strange armor extending a greatsword from nearby, blocking the attack of the yellow-clad Hunter.

”Hey, big brother, it’s not good to bully a woman. It’s about time you cooled off and quit it.”

What are you talking about?

Startled by the man’s relaxed tone, Eileen’s eyes widened in surprise. At first, she thought that the man in front of her was another crazed Hunter. However, she soon realized that he didn’t have the bloody aura that all Hunters possess; on the contrary, he was ”clean” as if he were just an ordinary person!

An ordinary person, how could he be here?

”Roar——!”

Seeing his attack blocked, the yellow-clad Hunter suddenly jumped back, then swiftly shifted his target and lunged at the man who had appeared so suddenly.

”Damn!”

Watching this, Eileen hurriedly tried to stand up, knowing the true identity of the yellow-clad Hunter— a very powerful and difficult-to-deal-with Hunter. Even she had been embroiled in a tough battle with him. And this man in front of her, who appeared to be a ”newbie” who had just arrived here, seemed overly confident as to confront an experienced Hunter head-on!

As the old Hunter swung his machete at the young man, Eileen sighed imperceptibly. She could almost foresee the outcome where the young man would be hacked down and turn into a corpse on the ground.

But the next moment, her eyes widened in shock.

The young man did not fall as Eileen had anticipated. Instead, he just stood there, and as Henrik’s machete came down, Eileen saw the young man suddenly raise his left hand, gripping a silver-white dagger, and met Henrik’s machete head-on!

”Clang!!”

At the moment the swords clashed, Henrik’s body suddenly trembled, then it seemed as if all his strength was drained, and he collapsed to the ground. Seeing this, Eileen couldn’t help but widen her eyes— as an experienced Hunter Killer, she clearly knew what this meant!

Sure enough, the next moment, the young man blocking in front of Eileen gripped his greatsword tightly and then powerfully swung it at Henrik. The old Hunter’s body was tossed into the air like a ragdoll, and as he fell, a sword light struck his body like thunder from the heavens, mercilessly crashing down on him.

”Boom!!”

Eileen even felt the ground beneath her feet tremble, and Henrik’s body was completely smashed into the cemetery. Without looking, Eileen knew he was thoroughly dead.

Good!

Clutching his greatsword, Fang Zheng nodded in satisfaction. Since the Fire Keeper had ignited the residual fire in his soul in a dream yesterday, Fang Zheng had felt his strength gradually returning. Although the system was still in repair, his own strength was slowly recovering.

When he first woke up in this world, Fang Zheng’s strength was only slightly better than that of an ordinary person. But now, he could feel his strength, speed, and reaction capacity had restored to about a fifth of his original power. It meant that Fang Zheng now had enough capability to defend himself, at least... his health and strength should be enough.

At the same time as he took down the crazed yellow-clad Hunter, Fang Zheng felt another surge of power entering his body. However, compared to the previous ”BOSS,” the yellow-clad Hunter’s power seemed slightly weaker... perhaps because he didn’t undergo a Second Stage transformation?

”Are you all right?”

Fang Zheng turned around, looking at Black Crow behind him, and extended his hand. After a moment, Black Crow, wearing a crow mask similar to those used by medieval doctors and dressed entirely in black— well, it made sense to call her Black Crow— took his hand and stood up.

”You didn’t need to help me, but... thank you.”

While speaking, Eileen carefully observed the young man in front of her.

”Where are you from? Foreigner, you’re not a Hunter, so why did you come to this cursed town?”

Thank heavens, finally someone with some sense.

Hearing Eileen’s question, Fang Zheng finally sighed in relief. If she had also started with ”Hello, Hunter,” then Fang Zheng really would have considered marking on his cloak that he was not a Hunter.

”I came here due to an accident.”

Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders, then glanced at the corpse of the yellow-clad Hunter not far away.

”So... are you all massacring each other here?”

”No.”

Facing Eileen’s inquiry, Fang Zheng shook his head.

”Hunting down crazed Hunters is my job, and that’s what I’ve always done. Stranger, I don’t know what you’re here for, but I’m sorry, you’ve already become involved in the Night of the Hunt...”

”The Night of the Hunt wasn’t started by you, you don’t need to apologize to me.”

However, before Eileen could finish, Fang Zheng interrupted her, and then made a gesture inviting her to follow.

”It’s not great for a bunch of people to be talking in a cemetery, I suggest we go to the church first, and then discuss what to do next, shall we?”

”Alright.”

Looking at the young man before her, Eileen was puzzled. She had assumed he was just a rookie Hunter, but from his recent fight with Henrik, she discovered that this young man had considerable combat experience, clearly, he was a very strong warrior. Henrik, after all, was a considerably fierce and well-known Hunter; his most famous feat was personally defeating and sealing a powerful dark beast in the Lower City.

The strength possessed by such a Hunter was definitely not something an ordinary Hunter could match. Eileen herself was a Hunter of considerable strength, otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken on the job of hunting down crazed Hunters. But compared to Henrik, she was still somewhat lacking.

Thinking this, Eileen couldn’t help but become curious about the young man before her. Who was he? Why had he come to Anan? Was he also someone who came seeking Anan’s blood for a cure?

Upon entering the small church, the scent of incense that met them made everyone breathe a sigh of relief. Mrs. Sophie sat by the church door with a little girl, while Fang Zheng joined Yushefka and Eileen in a room inside the small church—there was an elevator here leading upwards, but they did not come here to enjoy the view.

”Okay, as you two can see, I’m a stranger.”

Fang Zheng spread his arms and looked towards Yushefka and Eileen before him.

”To be honest, my arrival in Anan was completely accidental, and I don’t even know what the Night of the Hunt is, but clearly, it’s nothing good. Everywhere there are mutated creatures, crazed villagers, and werewolves. I want to end all this, and for that, I need your help, I think you should have some understanding of what’s happening in Anan, so I hope you can provide me with some help...”

”This....”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s query, Eileen and Yushefka exchanged glances. Then Eileen was silent for a moment before she asked.

”So, stranger, why are you here? Are you also here seeking a cure?”

”If you’re referring to the so-called ’Blood Healing,’ I’m not interested in it at all.”

Fang Zheng decisively gave his answer; he had no interest in such stuff, which resembled medieval bloodletting practices. Although his body had indeed been harmed, Fang Zheng was certain that once he regained the powers of the Zerg and Time Dragon, healing his wounds would be a trivial matter accomplished in the blink of an eye, and there was really no need to bother with this ’Blood Healing’.

”Like I said, my coming here was purely accidental; you can consider me as someone who accidentally wandered here... Bad luck, and I can’t do anything about it. And I obviously don’t plan to spend my days in solitude here, and from what I’ve seen so far, Anan doesn’t seem like a great place for retirement. I think any sane person’s reaction would be to leave this place.”

...You make a good point, I’m at a loss for words.

”...Then, stranger, what do you want to know?”

”About Anan, why it has become like this, the Night of the Hunt, and...”

”And?”

”Tell me where the BOSS is.”

”...BOSS?”

”The powerful creatures.”

Seeing the stunned expressions on Yushefka and Eileen’s faces, Fang Zheng felt compelled to elaborate further.

”It’s like how there would be a Wolf King among a pack of wolves; this town must have some places with especially powerful creatures, possibly also crazed Hunters or something of the sort.”

”What do you plan to do after learning about these?”

”Do you even need to ask?”

To Eileen’s question, Fang Zheng revealed a confident smile.

”Obviously, to take them all down.”
