Chapter 566: Chapter 565 Eileen Applies to Join the Team

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Dr. Yushefka’s expression instantly changed.

”What do you mean?” she asked.

”When I first heard your description, I thought Beastification was something like a virus. Due to Blood Healing, people were injected with the Blood of the Ancient God, but because they couldn’t accommodate this blood, they transformed into wild beasts. In this process, their minds became berserk, lost reason, filled with aggressiveness, unable to distinguish friend from foe, eventually turning into Monsters....”

At this point, Fang Zheng spread his arms and looked directly at Dr. Yushefka, who nodded in agreement.

”Exactly, that is the viewpoint of the Medical Church... It’s also why we formed the Hunters and began the Night of the Hunt. But....”

”But...?”

Facing Fang Zheng, Dr. Yushefka showed a hesitant expression, pausing for a moment before continuing.

”But... I heard that Master William, Lawrence’s mentor, seems to have a different view on this.”

”Oh?”

”Master William believes that humans inherently hide a beast nature, but it’s just that through the long process of Evolution, our reason has suppressed this beast nature. The Blood of the Ancient God simply reveals this other side of ours again... But this is just a speculation; in fact, we have no evidence to prove this,” she added.

”Hmm....”

Listening to Dr. Yushefka’s explanation, Fang Zheng pondered for a moment.

”Then, I would like to ask, since the Healing Church has been using Blood Healing, there must be some Blood of the Ancient God, right? I’m wondering where one can find the Blood of the Ancient God. Well, preferably frm relics, the earliest Blood of the Ancient God.”

”That... would be difficult.”

This time, faced with Fang Zheng’s request, Dr. Yushefka looked troubled.

”Why is that?”

”It’s not that I don’t trust you, foreigner,” she said, looking at Fang Zheng and shaking her head.

”In fact, after Master William and Lawrence had a falling out, Master William hid the initial Blood of the Ancient God. The Blood of the Ancient God that Lawrence uses for Blood Healing comes from other colleagues who initially received transfusions and... some kind of relic. The specifics, I’m not very clear. But if you want to find the Blood of the Ancient God, then you’ll probably have to go to Byronvis Academy... ” ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com

”Alright, I figured as much. This is just another basic RPG setup,” Fang Zheng said, shrugging his shoulders reluctantly. If before he wasn’t too concerned about these matters, now the situation was different. If things were as Fang Zheng thought, then it meant his appearance in Anan was not a coincidence, and while everything happening here was not his fault, eradicating it was his duty... Well, for Fang Zheng it made no difference, because if he didn’t resolve it all and gather enough power, he wouldn’t be able to leave this world.

”Knock, knock, knock.”

Just as Fang Zheng was about to say something else, suddenly a knocking sound came from the door. Fang Zheng turned his head, only to see a woman with golden blonde hair, dressed in a lavish gown, standing at the doorway.

”Foreigner, Dr. Yushefka, sorry to disturb. Do you have a moment?”

”What is it? Is there something wrong, Miss Oriana?”

Looking at the woman before him, Fang Zheng began to inquire. This woman, named Oriana, was brought back by Fang Zheng and Eileen on their way from the grand cathedral, from a small alley. Initially, she thought Fang Zheng had come to engage in ”business” with her, but upon seeing Fang Zheng and Eileen, she asked them if they knew of a safe place because the Night of Hunting had not yet passed, and her incense was almost depleted. Without a safe place, she feared she wouldn’t survive the Night of Hunting.

As the saying goes, whether herding one sheep or a flock, the effort is the same, so Fang Zheng and Oriana also brought her back. However, Miss Oriana gave Fang Zheng a feeling wildly different from those powdered and painted worldly women. She was gentle and polite, seeming more like a noble lady than a ”freelancer” who survived by selling her body. But nonetheless, having her in the church was quite reassuring.

”It’s like this, Mrs. Sophie seems to be feeling a bit unwell, I would like to ask Dr. Yushefka to take a look...”

”Oh?”

Upon hearing Oriana speak, Fang Zheng and Dr. Yushefka hurried to the church’s hall, where they saw Mrs. Sophie in the near distance sitting on a chair, her pain evident as she continually moaned while holding her head. Beside Mrs. Sophie, a little girl watched her anxiously.

”Mrs. Sophie, are you alright?”

Dr. Yushefka now displayed the demeanor expected of a doctor, quickly walking up to Mrs. Sophie, kneeling before her, but the elderly woman showed no intention of responding to Dr. Yushefka’s inquiries; instead, she just held her head, issuing painful moans, appearing as if she was trapped in a nightmare.

”What exactly happened?”

Fang Zheng turned his head towards Oriana, but she simply shook her head. Instead, it was the little girl who answered.

”Mrs. Sophie said she felt a bit tired, so she took a short nap, but it seems she had some kind of nightmare. After Mrs. Sophie woke up, she became like this...”

At this moment, Mrs. Sophie seemed increasingly distressed; she began whispering in pain, muttering to herself. Dr. Yushefka was at a loss and could only provide Mrs. Sophie with a tranquilizer to drink. After consuming the tranquilizer, Mrs. Sophie improved somewhat, though her gaze still appeared vacant, seemingly unaware of her own situation.

It seemed the situation was worsening.

Looking at Mrs. Sophie before him, Fang Zheng furrowed his brows; continuing to waste time like this was not an option, as he had obtained no clues from the grand cathedral. However, at Byronvis Academy, perhaps he might find some useful information. The immediate question was where exactly was Byronvis Academy?

”I can take you to Byronvis.”

Just then, Eileen’s voice emerged, and Fang Zheng lifted his head, only to see the Pitch Black Hunter Killer standing quietly at the main door, watching him intently.

”I’m very familiar with this place, and if you need to go to Byronvis, I can help guide you.”

”That surprises me.”

Upon hearing Eileen’s words, Fang Zheng raised an eyebrow.

”I thought you wouldn’t choose to help me.”

”... I thought so too, but I’ve changed my mind now.”

Eileen walked up to Fang Zheng, lifting her head to gaze at him. Honestly, she was reluctant to make this decision, but now, having witnessed the battle between Fang Zheng and Amelia, she decided to take a chance. This mysterious foreigner might truly be able to change everything here.

”Honestly, I’ve witnessed the tragic ends of countless hunters, none of whom could resist the power of the blood, but you’re different, foreigner. I can feel it; you haven’t undergone Blood Healing; your body is still clean, and it seems you aren’t tempted by the blood... that’s why I’ve decided to trust you once. I’ve been wandering in this nightmare far too long; perhaps I’m tired, and maybe, I too hope to find a way out.”

With that, Eileen looked at Fang Zheng, her eyes behind the crow mask revealing a hint of heaviness.

”Don’t betray my trust, foreigner.”
