Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

”Who are you?”

Before Fang Zheng could finish speaking, his greatsword had already chopped down towards the woman in front of him. He was certain that there was something wrong with this woman disguised as Dr. Yushefka, and anyway, it was better to subdue her first and then ask for clarity!

However, this woman was clearly not just anyone. Facing Fang Zheng’s attack, she agilely dodged backward, and then Fang Zheng saw a twisted smile appear on the woman’s face.

”A reckless hunter... Well, good, I too want to experience what it’s like to fight a hunter!”

As she spoke, Fang Zheng saw the woman raise her right hand, and then her fingers swiftly elongated, transforming into several tentacles that lunged towards Fang Zheng!

If Fang Zheng had been a magical girl, he might have already been in crisis by now. Fortunately, a magical girl was not among Fang Zheng’s professions, so naturally, the tentacles didn’t restrain him. He lifted his left hand and gripped firmly the Silver Short Sword transformed from the Sky-Cleaving Sword. Accompanied by flashes of sword light, soon, the woman’s right-hand tentacles were sliced into fragments, and she screamed trying to retreat.

Thinking of running? Not so easy!

Watching the woman retreat down the corridor, Fang Zheng gripped the greatsword in his right hand without hesitation and surged forward like a storm with a thrust, tearing through the air with his blade aimed straight at the woman’s body. Although the woman tried to raise her left hand holding a firearm to attack Fang Zheng, his speed was clearly much faster than hers. Her firearm had only just been raised when a flash of the sword followed, and the next moment, the woman’s left hand along with the gun she was holding were completely chopped off.

”Aaaaahhhhhh!!!”

The intense pain made the woman scream, but Fang Zheng’s onslaught didn’t stop there. He again lifted the greatsword and swung it forward with force. Accompanied by the splattering of blood, the woman was thrown backward, crashing heavily into the wall, then collapsing to the ground. Simultaneously, Fang Zheng saw the woman’s face start to change, her once beautiful features now melting and distorting like a heavily made-up woman splashed with makeup remover. Soon, before Fang Zheng’s eyes, what had been a somewhat human-looking woman transformed into a creature covered in tentacles...

”—————!!!”

The creature raised its head and let out an indistinct scream, but the next moment, a huge sharp blade pierced its heart, ending its life completely. At the same time, Fang Zheng felt a power similar to what he had felt when he had defeated Father Gascoigne enter his body through the greatsword.

Hmm... according to the game settings, does that mean these are both bosses?

Could it be I only gain firewood by defeating bosses?

After confirming that the creature was completely dead, Fang Zheng continued towards the deeper parts of the clinic with the others. Clearly, this creature had been posing as Dr. Yushefka, trying to lure survivors to her. But exactly what it intended, Fang Zheng couldn’t tell. But now that Dr. Yushefka was proven fake, where then was the real Dr. Yushefka?

On the second floor of the clinic, Fang Zheng finally found another Dr. Yushefka, bound to a chair and lying on the ground, her mouth stuffed with cloth. Hearing footsteps, the woman’s eyes showed panic. But when she saw Fang Zheng and the others, hope and joy reappeared in her gaze.

”Dr. Yushefka!”

Seeing the woman on the ground, Cecilia called out wanting to rush over, but Fang Zheng gestured for Mrs. Sophie to stop her. After all, the creature had just been posing as Dr. Yushefka, who knew if this was another fake? Thus, Fang Zheng approached the woman cautiously, sword in hand, and then cut the ropes binding her with one strike. The woman then got up from the ground and respectfully bowed to Fang Zheng.

”Thank you, hunter... Thank you for saving me...”

”I’ve told you, I’m not a hunter...”

Fang Zheng was too exhausted to retort. Why did everyone in this world call anyone with a weapon a hunter? Was there nothing else?

”Are you Dr. Yushefka?” freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

”Yes... I am Dr. Yushefka...”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, the woman cautiously nodded. Fang Zheng then extended his hand, gesturing behind him.

”Then, do you recognize this child?”

As Fang Zheng spoke, Dr. Yushefka looked behind him, and upon seeing Cecilia, her face brightened.

”Cecilia!”

”Doctor!”

Hearing Dr. Yushefka call her name, the young girl happily waved at her. It wasn’t until then that Fang Zheng finally breathed a sigh of relief, turning to the woman in front of him to ask.

”What on earth is happening? Who’s that impostor?”

”That...”

Facing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Dr. Yushefka seemed somewhat disheartened.

”That was someone from the Choir Band...I really didn’t expect that they could find this place...but...”

At this point, Dr. Yushefka lowered her head and sighed softly.

”This place is no longer safe.”

Fang Zheng glanced around; he could tell this woman knew a lot. But now was not the time to ask about these matters; once they were back at the church, he would have plenty of time to inquire about everything. Thus, Fang Zheng also raised his greatsword, then issued an order.

”We must leave immediately for the small church; it is safe there now.”

”Alright...”

Dr. Yushefka was clearly reluctant to leave her clinic, but after the recent attack, she realized the danger and could only nod, then left the clinic together with Fang Zheng.

On their way to the church, Fang Zheng also attempted to find other survivors. Unfortunately, these survivors clearly did not trust Fang Zheng’s words; some even seemed to become delirious, meeting Fang Zheng’s inquiries only with roars and howls.

Regarding this, Fang Zheng didn’t have much to say; no zuo no die, after all. Since you’ve chosen this path, just have it your way...

Although the journey to the small church was unobstructed, when Fang Zheng and the three others arrived at the previous graveyard, he suddenly heard faint roars and the sound of clashing weapons, as if someone was fighting.

Oh come on, not again?

Hearing the sounds of battle, Fang Zheng helplessly rolled his eyes, then carefully walked up the stairs.

Then, Fang Zheng saw two figures engaged in intense combat in the graveyard. One was dressed in yellow while the other wore an outfit resembling that of a black crow. Both wielded firearms in their left hands and melee weapons in their right. The one dressed like a crow was wielding a scimitar, while the one in yellow held a serrated cleaver.

Although the Black Crow dodged the Yellow Hunter’s attacks with agile movements, the Yellow Hunter had clearly entered a state of madness similar to that of Father Gascoigne, whom Fang Zheng had encountered before. Even though the Black Crow’s blade left mark after mark on him, he continued his assault on the Black Crow like a wild beast, unleashing a storm-like offensive.

Under the Yellow Hunter’s relentless onslaught, the Black Crow seemed to be faltering.

”Mr. Hunter!”

I’ve told you, I’m not a hunter...

Hearing Dr. Yushefka’s voice next to him, Fang Zheng sighed helplessly. After briefly considering whether to write ”I’m not a hunter” on his back, he turned his head and looked toward Dr. Yushefka, only to see her anxious expression as she tightly clasped her hands and gazed at him.

”Please help Eileen...she can’t hold on much longer!”

Eileen...is she the Black Crow?

”Bang!”

Just then, Fang Zheng saw the Black Crow falter, knocked away by the Yellow Hunter’s cleaver, seemingly in grave danger. He originally thought they were just two lunatics fighting each other and did not want to intervene, but now, since Dr. Yushefka had asked him to save someone, he felt compelled to help. Moreover...this Black Crow was also a hunter; maybe he could gather some information about this world from her?

”Aaaaaahhhhh!!”

Amidst the roaring, the Yellow Hunter raised his cleaver and lunged at the Black Crow again. The Black Crow tried to stand up, but the previous strike had severely wounded her, so much so that she could only kneel helplessly on the ground, watching the blade descend toward her...

”Clang!”

But just as the cleaver was about to strike the Black Crow, suddenly, a greatsword thrust out from the side, blocking the Yellow Hunter’s attack!
