Chapter 489: Chapter 488: Who is Calling the Fleet (Part 2)

”Crackle——Crackle——”

Enveloped by the lightning, the Paladin saw that strange black hole begin to spin rapidly and then suddenly shrink——the next moment, a Crystal Tower wrapped in a golden aura and triangular shield emerged, shining brilliantly in the radiance. Simultaneously, the Paladin felt a tremendously pure aura sweep past him, and at this moment, he felt as though everything around him had changed.

The previously berserk, unsettling aura of Chaos dissipated like it was swept away by a fierce wind, with the Crystal Tower at its center, the power of Order reasserted its dominion over the land that had been invaded by Chaos.

”What, what on earth is this...?”

The Holy Knights and Mages on the walls were dumbstruck, exchanging glances, utterly clueless about what had just happened. At the borders of Order, the power of Chaos was formidable. However, for the children of Order, the aura of Chaos was extremely hard to endure. It was as if they were in the midst of dense smog, combatting terrible Chaos Monsters and constantly enduring the torment of the Chaos aura on their bodies and spirits.

That’s why many Guardian Knights who retired from the border felt as though they had aged a lot, the horror and pain of the Chaos aura was simply too much to bear.

But with the appearance of this Crystal Tower, the Guardians felt as if a refreshing breeze blew over their bodies, not only revitalizing their spirits. It even seemed as though the Chaos Power that had sunk deep into their bodies and souls was being driven out!

What exactly was this thing?

Looking at the Crystal Tower before him, the Knight Captain was agape, unable to utter a word. Similar things existed in the Northern Fortress, but that was a Divine Artifact called ”Angel’s Tear,” which also served to dispel the aura of Chaos, extend the power of Order, and form a sacred barrier to protect the fortress.

However, as a Divine Artifact, the use of ”Angel’s Tear” was very strict; it required a large amount of energy to be replenished after each use and could only last a few hours. Moreover, ”Angel’s Tear” could be used no more than three times in ten days.

Yet the Crystal Tower before them, although it didn’t seem to have as powerful a holy Order barrier as ”Angel’s Tear,” in terms of purifying Chaos and extending Order power, this Crystal Tower appeared to be no less effective!

The appearance of the Crystal Tower also seemed to provoke the Demon Beasts rushing towards the Northern Fortress, eliciting wild roars as they sped up and charged ahead.

”Immediately protect that Crystal Tower, it must not be destroyed by the Chaos Monsters!”

Seeing this, the captain of the guards issued the order without hesitation. Chaos and Order attract each other yet are mutually hostile. The stronger the force of Order, the more Chaos Monsters it will attract, and they will furiously destroy all forces of Order. The existence of the Crystal Tower with its powerful Order power was even more likely to incite a concerted attack by the Chaos Monsters!

At this moment, the captain of the guards had decided that even if it meant the walls would fall, they must protect the Crystal Tower. As long as it stood here, they could hold out until reinforcements arrived!

However, to everyone’s surprise, reinforcements arrived.

And faster than they had anticipated.

”Whoosh——!”

Countless meteors fell from the sky, turning into beams of light that settled upon the walls. To the amazement of all, alongside the vanishing light, diminutive girls wielding unique weapons stepped out. They gripped their strange weapons tightly, staring solemnly at the oncoming hordes of Demon Creatures.

Where did these girls come from?

Nobody knew what was happening, and even the captain of the guards was at a loss for words as he looked at the girls beside him.

Then, a scene occurred that shocked everyone.

As the girls appeared out of nowhere on the walls, everyone felt the pressure around them drop suddenly. When they instinctively looked up, virtually every person was so stunned that their minds went blank and they lost all capacity to react.

”Clang.”

Even Knight Commander Wells, standing atop the spire of the Northern Fortress, dropped his longsword to the ground at this moment. As a knight, this could almost be considered his greatest disgrace. Yet the old knight had no concern for these things now; he just stared wide-eyed at the sky above—and the enormous metal warship hovering in the dark expanse.

”Blessed by the Goddess of Order... what is this...”

He muttered to himself, eyeing the warship, wondering if his aging eyes were deceiving him with an illusion.

”Azure Fleet—Flagship Iona in position.”

”Azure Fleet—Dark Realm, Terror in position.”

”Azure Fleet—Rodney in position.”

”Azure Fleet—Unicorn in position.”

Upon hearing the voices around him, Fang Zheng nodded—the fleets within the Heavenly Dao Palace were divided into two, one led by the flagship Iona, the Azure Fleet, whose main task was to follow Fang Zheng wherever he went, engaging in battle. The other was the Crimson Fleet with Musashi as its flagship, tasked primarily with defending the Heavenly Dao Palace.

This time Fang Zheng brought only five warships from the Azure Fleet, but in his view, that was more than enough to deal with the Chaos Monsters. After all, these were cosmic warships against ground forces, and even five seemed somewhat excessive to Fang Zheng.

”Fire!!”

”—————!!”

At Fang Zheng’s command, countless beams of light descended from the sky, sweeping through the ranks of Chaos Monsters and instantly causing a series of explosions and flames. The Chaos Monsters struck directly by the light beams vanished completely without even a scream, lost in the torrential roar of the energy beams.

Although some of the Demon Creatures luckily evaded the Azure Fleet’s salvo, they were quickly shattered by the plasma rifles in the hands of the Cursed Children on the city walls.

The situation reversed in the blink of an eye.

Witnessing the distant firelight and beams occasionally sweeping across the sky, and hearing the rhythmic sounds of gunfire and explosions, the Paladins and Mages who had been defending the wall felt as if they were worlds apart.

What kind of turn of events was this?

Just a moment ago, they were prepared for a desperate battle against the Chaos Monsters, but now, were these creatures really being repelled and wiped out so easily?

Could those terrifyingly powerful and vicious Chaos Monsters really be crushed and defeated as easily as a swarm of insects?

We must be dreaming!!

Now, on the defense line, the situation had completely changed. The Paladins and Mages stood there stunned, watching the girls in their strange uniforms holding weapons, attacking the Demon Beasts from a distance—they did not have such weapons. Although the Mages could cast powerful long-distance magic spells, they had exhausted most of their magic in the fierce battle, and could only manage to cast a few Level One spells and Level Zero Trickery.

Of course, with their magic wands, the mages could fire off some Magic Light Bullets. But considering the power of these Magic Light Bullets and their pitifully short range, and then looking at those roaring weapons in the girls’ hands that could blow powerful Demon Beasts to pieces... well, it might be best to put the magic wands away.

With this thought, everyone’s expression became somewhat awkward. Although the battle continued before their eyes, they had a premonition—that this time, the fight would soon be over.
