Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 460: Chapter 459: The Last Ace of the Kingdom of Flame

”How naive...”

Watching the enormous black hole on the screen that had become empty, Fang Zheng shook his head and sighed so faintly it was almost imperceptible.

These people were truly foolish and naive. Why had he sent a mind model to fight alongside the Cursed Children? The reasons were simple—the first was that these mind models could not possibly die, and second, they possessed a powerful weapon, the manifestation of warship equipment!

In other words, these Sea Mist mind models could use their abilities to open a sort of spatial channel, then ”teleport” a portion of their warship’s weapons over. This was precisely why Fang Zheng had been so confident in letting the Dark Realm take the lead in the battle!

How does a point-blank attack from four superluminal particle beam lasers feel?

Strictly speaking, this werewolf gentleman was the first person from the Main World to personally experience the power of a cosmic weapon, which could be considered for the history books. Sadly, he had been evaporated to the extent that not even ashes remained. Otherwise, Fang Zheng really would have liked to interview him and ask about his firsthand experiences...

Thinking this, Fang Zheng closed his eyes and let out a light laugh.

Everything was going as he had anticipated; he had already foreseen the end.

”Boom——!”

A dazzling radiance soared into the sky, illuminating the surroundings.

What had happened?

Watching the column of light shooting into the sky, Blood Blade, who was hiding near the flag, was taken aback. They had no way of communicating with each other, so Blood Blade had no idea about the other comrades’ situations. Even so, to Blood Blade, dealing with a few kids should have been a sure thing.

Of course, although he thought this deep down, it didn’t mean Blood Blade would take those kids lightly. He had also observed the battle between Alfred and Aohara Enju at the airfield. In his view, these kids were indeed not weak, but his own people, even if they were incompetent, should still be able to hold them off for a while!

For Blood Blade, that was enough!

As an assassin, completing the mission always came first. For him, fighting a bunch of kids was truly a lose-lose situation—losing would be embarrassing, and winning would bring no honor.

So he had never intended to fight them from the start; instead, he planned to go directly to the flag. As long as they captured the flag, they could claim victory.

That’s why, when his physically strong but simple-minded comrade volunteered to take on two opponents by himself, Blood Blade had readily agreed. Having someone else play the fool for him was something he just couldn’t ask for.

But now... what was going on?

Could it be that his strong but simple-minded idiot of a comrade had been killed by the opponents?

Thinking this, Blood Blade felt a sense of shock within himself. To be honest, the dazzling tower of light was indeed terrifying; even he couldn’t help feeling alarmed by it. If he had been there, he probably... wouldn’t have fared much better at this point!

Fortunately for him, none of that mattered anymore, as there were less than twenty seconds left before they would achieve victory!

Just as Blood Blade withdrew his gaze, the corner of his eye suddenly caught a light sway in the grass not far away... but there was no wind blowing at the moment!

”Swoosh!”

As a professional assassin, Blood Blade’s actions were incredibly swift. The moment he sensed something was amiss, he immediately leaped from his hiding spot. Then, with a flip of his hands, two bright red daggers appeared in Blood Blade’s hands. At that moment, a fierce gust erupted around his body and spread in all directions!

”Boom!”

The howling Sword Qi turned into thousands of blades tearing apart everything around Blood Blade’s body. At the same time, a blurry figure suddenly appeared not far in front of Blood Blade. She extended her right hand and forcefully grasped in the direction of Blood Blade!

”————!”

A pitch-black sphere, the size of a crystal ball, suddenly appeared above Blood Blade’s head. It looked like a sphere, but it more closely resembled a black ring with edges burning with purple flames. Before Blood Blade could figure out what this ring was for, the black sphere trembled violently. The next moment, everything around him, including the air, was completely frozen in place.

Spatial Imprisonment!

Time stopped flowing at that moment, and Blood Blade’s body remained frozen in midair, his eyes fixed on the front as if he was still on guard for any potential enemies.

But there was no longer any need for that.

A petite figure flashed past Blood Blade, and then two dazzling purple sword lights crisscrossed and tore through Blood Blade’s body.

”Clang... clang... clang...”

The bell rang.

The arena began to tremble, the once lush forest and the platform vanished, and at the same time, a golden battle flag appeared in front of Fang Zheng’s platform. There was no need to ask who the victor was this time.

Lieutenant General John had anticipated this, he sighed deeply and closed his eyes. After all, he was mentally prepared, so he wasn’t particularly surprised by the defeat. However, the fat representative sitting not far from Lieutenant General John couldn’t remain as composed. He had full confidence in his two subordinates and couldn’t fathom any scenario in which they would lose. He knew very well the Werewolf’s physical quality, which was why he had spent a fortune to hire it, but now... it was dead?

And that Blood Blade... how could he be so stupid?!

”Alright, let’s start the second round.”

Glancing at the fat representative who was despondent, sitting in his chair muttering to himself, Lieutenant General John shook his head. They had lost this round, but the next one, they must win... no, they would definitely win!

Thinking this, Lieutenant General John turned his head and looked towards an old man wrapped in a cloak behind him.

”So, I’m counting on you, Master Kara.”

”Leave it to me.”

Hearing Lieutenant General John’s words, the old man nodded, then turned around and quickly disappeared in a ring of light, and the next moment, he appeared at the center of the arena.

Since this round was a solo fight, the arena didn’t need to select a map like before. Therefore, as soon as the old man appeared, he immediately caught everyone’s attention, though his true face wasn’t visible as it was shrouded by the robe. However, as he took off the cloak and revealed his true appearance, everyone was shocked!!

The figure that emerged on the platform was a tall, thin elderly man, appearing to be in his sixties, with white hair and a resolute face that seemed carved from stone. What was even more striking was the vivid scar that ran from his forehead down to his jaw on the left side of his face!

”Is that ’Dragon Slayer’ Kara?!”

”You’ve got to be kidding, the Kingdom of Flame even brought him?!”

”No wonder the Kingdom of Flame is so determined this time...”

Upon seeing the real face of the old man, everyone in the entire arena boiled with excitement!!

The reason was simply because the story of ”Dragon Slayer” Kara was legendary!

Kara was initially a common warrior from the Kingdom of Flame who, through his efforts, became a member of the highly esteemed Dragon Knights Order of his country. During that time, internal power struggles caused political turmoil within the Kingdom of Flame. The Commander of Kara’s unit chose the wrong side, and as a result, Kara’s unit was falsely branded as rebels and exiled to the Land of Ice Prison. There, they had to battle countless creatures at the Peak of the Ice Mountain to defend the peace of the Kingdom of Flame, and they tried to clear their criminal records with their valor.

It was then that Kara began to stand out; he slaughtered hundreds of Demon Creatures and gained immense power.

Afterwards, an empowered Kara returned to the political heart of the Kingdom of Flame. At this point, he was no longer the unknown common soldier but a widely reputed warrior. In his quest for revenge, he sided with one of the factions. With his support, the initially defeated parliamentary faction began regaining their control.

Seeing the dire situation, the opposing faction resorted to their last move—they awakened the sealed Flame Demon Dragon Shabak, hoping to destroy the entire parliamentary faction along with the capital of the Kingdom of Flame in the dragon’s inferno. At that moment, Kara stepped forward alone, bravely battling the Flame Demon Dragon.

The ensuing events were quite like something out of a Hollywood movie. In the fight, the defeated Kara suddenly unleashed his potential (likely by leveraging the principle of flashback power-up), ascended to the Legendary Realm, and ultimately slew the Flame Demon Dragon. Of course, he didn’t escape unscathed; the scar on Kara’s cheek was a memento left by the Flame Demon Dragon.

Kara thus made a name for himself and became an overwhelming force on the entire continent, and his title ”Dragon Slayer” became widely known.

That was fifty years ago, and now... the true extent of this Dragon Slayer’s power remained unknown.

But it was clear to everyone that it was only because of Kara’s presence that the Kingdom of Flame could compete against the Pope of the Kingdom of the Holy Church and the King of Mages of the Magitech Nation. Otherwise, even with a powerful army, they wouldn’t stand as one of the four powerful nations.

And this time, the Kingdom of Flame had even called upon their Guardian God?

”Hmph... Dragon Slayer.”

Hearing this title, Fang Zheng’s expression slightly darkened... Ah, this title really isn’t friendly.

Thinking this, Fang Zheng turned his head, looking towards his side.

”Black Katie.”

”Yes, Alliance Hierarch.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s voice, the petite Shrine Maiden stepped forward and slightly bowed.

”It’s up to you now, show them the power of the Seat of Apex.”
