Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

For Nymph, it was a sleepless night.

Of course, to be strict, ”sleepless” isn’t accurate, since Omnipotent Angels don’t need to sleep, which means that for Little Angel, every night is a ”sleepless” one. However, Nymph herself didn’t mind; on the contrary, she had more time to learn, study, and make Alchemical Equipment, which she considered a very effective use of time.

Even during her free time, she could turn on the TV and watch a variety of soap operas brought over from the World of Shana and Ironblood World to pass the time.

But for Nymph, spending a night ”doing nothing” like this was a first.

Is this what sleep feels like?

Leaning in Fang Zheng’s embrace, feeling the warmth of his arms, Nymph couldn’t help but blush and, through the robust chest in front of her, she could clearly hear Fang Zheng’s heart beating ”thump-thump” and his deep breathing.

This is the first time I’ve been so close to the master...

As an Artificial Angel, Nymph had never been so close to Fang Zheng. In Synapsus, Artificial Angels were merely tools, and it was common for a master to beat and humiliate them. But... in this world, everything seemed different. While still the master, Fang Zheng was very gentle with her, and...

”It’s not like what Tilia said, it doesn’t hurt at all...”

Murmuring to herself, Nymph curled up closer in Fang Zheng’s embrace, feeling his arms around her, and a sense of security she had never felt before enveloped her. If possible, she really wished it could go on forever, but fortunately for Nymph, the night was still long.

Occasionally... spending time like this isn’t too bad...

With that thought, Nymph also closed her eyes.

A night passed.

For Fang Zheng, resting in the virtual world was no different from the real world. Of course, if there was an issue, it was that when he opened his eyes, he found that Nymph was still curled up in his arms, looking at him curiously... Well, strictly speaking, Little Angel probably maintained that pose all night long.

”Sorry, was it boring?”

Sitting up, Fang Zheng smiled and patted Nymph’s head. If it were someone else, then sleeping was no different, but Nymph was an Artificial Angel and didn’t sleep at all. Moreover, by her behavior, it seemed she had spent the whole night tucked in his arms. To be fair, Fang Zheng thought if he sustained such a pose for eight or nine hours without moving, he would be bored to death.

”Not at all, Master.”

But the Little Angel blushed slightly and shook her head, then she hesitated, biting her lip before looking up at Fang Zheng.

”So... Master, if possible, I’d like to sleep with you again in the future... Is that okay?”

”Of course, no problem.”

Though surprised by Nymph’s request, Fang Zheng naturally wouldn’t refuse. Nymph’s body was small, soft, and fragrant, much more comfortable to hold than a body pillow. He was always willing to let a cute girl warm his bed.

”But for now... let’s focus on completing our task...”

”Yes, Master. What should we do next?”

”Next?”

Hearing Nymph’s question, Fang Zheng smiled faintly.

”All we need to do is wait for the game to come to us.”

Fang Zheng had no intention to follow the main storyline. To him, it was meaningless and unnecessary. Most stories in The Matrix of Hackers were about fighting, apart from that, their main task was short. Fang Zheng knew that in the real world, mechanical octopuses were gathering to attack Zion, while the Savior was busy finding the key to everything behind the scenes.

What Fang Zheng needed to do next was very simple.

Night fell.

The city outside the window was still brightly lit, and Fang Zheng stood at the window with his hands behind his back, gazing down at the scenery below. This was the center of the plot for the second part of The Matrix of Hackers, where Neo would come here, open the door to the source of everything, then meet with the ”creator” and learn the truth about the world, making his choice.

Either protect Zion or safeguard the woman he loved.

Of course, like all Hollywood mainstream narratives, the protagonist chose his woman.

But Fang Zheng was well aware that all this was just a lie.

It was twelve o’clock.

At that moment, the city before Fang Zheng suddenly plunged into darkness; the entire street lost power completely, and at the same time, the lights in Fang Zheng’s room were extinguished in an instant. He was not at all surprised by this, because this was exactly the ”strategy plot” that the protagonist Neo had acquired. They had to cut off the electricity of twenty-seven streets, then disable the alarm and power systems to open the gate leading to the ”forbidden floor,” and then enter to find the creator.

”Tap, tap, tap...”

Tense footsteps echoed as Fang Zheng turned his head, only to see the previously shut door ”click” open, and then several people wearing black coats entered, accompanied by a keymaker.

Mephist, Neo, and... Trinity.

Seeing this scene, Fang Zheng raised an eyebrow. According to the movie plot, Trinity was supposed to obey Neo’s order and not enter the Motherbody, and Mephist should have been outside, holding off Smith’s assault. However, because Fang Zheng had completely destroyed the Smith program, the protagonists had reached their destination without danger.

”This is the last gate.”

The keymaker took out a key, handing it to Neo.

”Open this door, and you will be able to enter that room.”

”... I understand.”

After taking the key, Neo fell silent for a moment. For some reason, he always felt a bit nervous, as if some danger was waiting for him. However, this was also his destiny, so he took the key without hesitation, inserted it into the lock of the door before him, and then turned it.

The door gradually vanished, and a dazzling white light emerged, enveloping the entire world...

When Neo, Mephist, and Trinity opened their eyes again, they were no longer in the previous gloomy server room but in a white space filled with television screens all around. Seated in a chair before them was an old man in a white suit with white hair and beard.

”Hello, Neo.”

”Who are you?”

Looking at the old man before him, Neo furrowed his brow and asked. The old man smiled and then replied.

”I am the creator... It was I who created the Motherbody, and I have been waiting for you. Honestly, I thought you wouldn’t come, but now it seems...”

While speaking, the old man glanced at Mephist and Trinity beside Neo.

”... There seems to have been a slight error.”

”An error?”

”Yes.”

The old man nodded.

”Due to some unknowable force’s influence, events have unfolded differently from what I predicted, which is quite strange... To be honest, I don’t know why this has happened.”

”This can only mean one thing.”

Just then, suddenly, a voice came from behind Neo and the others. Hearing this voice, Neo, Mephist, and Trinity spun around hurriedly, warily looking behind them. And there, Fang Zheng was approaching with a smile, with Nymph walking slowly beside him.

”You are not the creator, Mr. Creator.”

”Who are you?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, the old man’s expression darkened considerably, and his gaze towards Fang Zheng also showed a hint of hostility. But Fang Zheng did not care, he simply nodded at him.

”My name is Fang Zheng, and this lovely child beside me is Nymph... Uh, hello, it’s a pleasure to meet you for the first time, Mr. Neo, Mr. Mephist, Miss Trinity, and you as well, Mr. Creator.”

Having said this, Fang Zheng paused.

”However, truth be told, it’s not very polite for a guest to come empty-handed to the host’s home, so I’ve prepared a modest gift for Mr. Creator; please accept it.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng made a gesture. Soon, a black sphere flew from his hand, rolled on the ground a few times, and then stopped in front of the Creator.

”This is...!”

Upon seeing the true identity of the black sphere, everyone, Neo included, changed their expressions, because it was not just anything—it was the head of a black elderly woman, more precisely, it was...

”The Prophet!?”
