Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 482: Chapter 481: Before Troops Move, Supplies Go First

I have to admit, the upgrade of Little Angel was a pleasant surprise for Fang Zheng.

However, it was only after Little Angel carefully explained it to him that Fang Zheng realized her ability was not so easily mastered———in principle, the Skill Little Angel used in the real world was no different from what she used in The Matrix of Hackers. She manipulated information, reassembled it, and materialized it.

The difference was that in The Matrix of Hackers, the raw material templates were all ready-made; Little Angel simply needed to set up the framework, apply the textures, and conveniently write some code. But creating something out of nothing in reality was not so simple. Just as more detailed and realistic graphics consume more memory, if Little Angel were to model only a skeleton with textures, her power could extend to something as large as a city.

But if she were asked to code the entire ”Simulated City” according to real-world parameters, like the mass and physical interactions of stone, wood, steel, and all sorts of effects like particle emissions, then Little Angel was not far from crashing and restarting.

To put it simply, it’s like a large-scale Illusion Technique that cannot be dissipated, depending on Little Angel’s efforts, it might even transform from fantasy into reality.

So now Nymph could also take on a part-time job as an Illusionist.

Fang Zheng was quite happy about this. After all, one cannot have too many skills, and this kind of undispellable illusion, if used well, could be very powerful. Moreover, Little Angel was only unable to turn an entire city into reality, but for a smaller part, she could, just like Fang Zheng, set up a ”Sealing” to use it.

Although they had spent quite some time in the world of The Matrix of Hackers, in the Main World, it was only as if they had gone out in the morning and came back at noon, even managing to catch the hot lunch prepared back at home in Natsuse World......

It was this timeshift......that just didn’t seem right.

After finishing lunch, Fang Zheng wiped his mouth and headed back to the Pitch Black World. For no other reason than he wanted to check on the progress of his military factory there.

”Ah, isn’t this Lord Fang Zheng? I never expected you to grace us with your presence,”

As Fang Zheng arrived at the entrance to Sima Heavy Industry, he saw the young girl wearing a kimono, speaking in a Kansai accent, her hair styled into several bun curls, standing there and greeting him with a giggly smile. She was Weizhi Sima, the heiress of Sima Heavy Industry in the Pitch Black World.

”Hello, Miss Weizhi.”

Seeing the kimono-clad girl before him, Fang Zheng nodded in her direction.

”You should know why I’ve come......”

”Of course, Master Fang Zheng.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Weizhi Sima giggled, snapped open her fan with a ”pop,” covering her lips and then turned, leading Fang Zheng into the company’s interior.

”The weapon structures you brought last time, Lord Fang Zheng, were truly exquisite, surprising our technicians no end. I have no idea where you obtain such weapons. But fortunately, we have already achieved some research results.”

”That’s good to hear.”

Upon hearing Weizhi Sima’s answer, Fang Zheng nodded. Lacking long-range individual weapons for Star Spirits, Fang Zheng had no choice but to solve this problem himself. After much consideration, he ultimately chose Sima Heavy Industry from the Pitch Black World as his partner.

And the reasons, there were three.

Firstly, Fang Zheng had previously cooperated with Sima Heavy Industry in the Pitch Black World when repelling the Intestinal Creatures, and they had even provided weapons for the Cursed Children free of charge. Their collaboration had been quite pleasant, and after that, when Fang Zheng exhibited the formidable Power of Existence of the Heavenly Dao Palace, Sima Heavy Industry naturally did not want to forfeit this opportunity and thus proactively extended goodwill.

Second, Weizhi Sima herself did not harbor the same animosity towards the Cursed Children as others did, so she was not on Fang Zheng’s list for a purge, and their mutual feeling toward each other was rather amicable. Fang Zheng saw the heiress as somewhat cunning at times, but overall a figure worth wooing.

The third reason was simpler. After all, kimono-clad beauties. Why opt for men when you can work with beautiful women?

Of course, aside from that, a very important reason was that the forces Fang Zheng had in World of Shana were simply useless in this respect. The weapons used by the Followers of the Crimson Realm required the Power of Existence, and for the Cursed Children, it was clearly impossible for them to use the Power of Existence. Therefore, after much thought, Fang Zheng dismantled some weapons from the Ironblood Warriors, like Shoulder Cannons and handguns, and brought them to the Pitch Black World, handing them over to Sima Heavy Industry to attempt reverse engineering.

When Fang Zheng first presented these weapons, Weizhi Sima was so excited she almost threw herself at him for a bite.

Fang Zheng wasn’t worried that Sima Heavy Industry would turn these weapons against him. After all, the rightful owners, the Ironblood Warriors, had been eliminated by him. If Sima Heavy Industry or some other ulterior-motivated individuals dared covet these weapons, he wouldn’t hesitate to let them experience the warmth of the Alien Insects.

One had to acknowledge that the technology of Sima Heavy Industry was quite remarkable. After arriving at the weapons testing grounds, Fang Zheng soon saw the outcomes of their reverse engineering from the Ironblood Warriors’ weapons———well, at least they looked very Science Fiction.

```
Unlike most weapons, this new firearm looked like the product of two rectangular shapes stacked on top of each other. Its appearance was strikingly similar to that of the G11, except the stock at the rear was a bit shorter, and the entire body of the gun seemed thicker and heavier.
”This is the XD-1 assault rifle.”
Pointing at the weapon in front of her, Weizhi Sima excitedly introduced it to Fang Zheng.
”We have developed this new firearm using the weapons you brought us, Master. I must admit, its power is quite formidable. Moreover, we have made some improvements. Our researchers believe that using it solely to fire plasma cannons is a waste of its potential. Thus, we designed this assault rifle with two modes. One is the standard firing mode, where it condenses plasma light bullets for continuous shooting, theoretically reaching a firing rate of six hundred rounds per minute. The effective range is between 300 and 600 meters. The second mode is the grenade mode, which can fire plasma cannons to bomb large targets. However, due to our current level of technology, it can only fire three consecutive plasma cannons before needing about fifteen seconds of cooling time...”
”Hmm...”
As he listened to Weizhi Sima’s explanation, Fang Zheng reached out to pick up the assault rifle resting on the stand, aimed at a target in front, and then squeezed the trigger.
”Bang bang bang——!”
With the sound of gunfire, dazzling and bright plasma light bullets shot out, instantly turning the humanoid target 300 meters away into fragments like a myriad of meteors.
”The biggest drawback at the moment is the weight of the gun, which exceeds the limit that most people can handle.”
Speaking of this, Weizhi Sima looked somewhat complicatedly at Fang Zheng who was holding the assault rifle in one hand.
”Due to the integration of energy transmission and cooling modules, the total weight of the gun reaches twenty kilograms. Aside from those children, basically no one can use it.”
”Hmm... that’s quite heavy.”
Hearing Weizhi Sima’s comment, Fang Zheng weighed the assault rifle in his hand—well, it certainly was heavy.
”What about reliability?”
”We used the latest composite materials, so there’s no issue with reliability. It can be used even in water and mud.”
”Very good.”
Now Fang Zheng was finally reassured.
”So, how much stock do you have now?”
At Fang Zheng’s question, the kimono-clad girl showed a hesitant expression.
”This... at present, we’ve only made three thousand pieces...”
”That will be enough; I’ll take them all this time. You can deliver the goods directly to the Heavenly Dao Palace.”
”Really? Is that okay?” ƒreewebɳovel.com
This time it was Weizhi Sima who seemed surprised. Although Fang Zheng had ordered them to mass-produce the weapon immediately after development, and Sima Heavy Industry had conducted a lot of research and improvement to ensure its combat readiness before they started mass production, a weapon was of no use if the buyer didn’t like it. But now, it looked like Fang Zheng was satisfied?
”Yes, you can continue with the next steps of research and improvement. For now, the power is sufficient. Next, I would like you to think about adding more special firearms, such as sniper rifles and weapons specially designed for large creatures...”
Just now, Fang Zheng had compared the firepower and realized that the full-auto power of the rifle was more or less on par with a Magic Missile Storm, while the explosive force of the plasma grenades was slightly weaker than the Fireball Technique. However, it should be enough to deal with those demon beasts. What he didn’t know was whether those demon beasts had any immune to plasma...
But then again, according to the settings of the Main World, what kind of magic attribute does plasma count as?
Never mind, he would find out after some field testing when he got back.
At least just now, Fang Zheng received news that the Sanctuary seemed to be growing impatient.
