Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 475: Chapter 474: It’s Your Fault for Being Uncultured

”What have you done!”

Accompanied by roars of anger, Mephist raised his gun, aiming it at Fang Zheng standing before him. Meanwhile, Neo and Trinity were also greatly surprised. They had never expected to see the Prophet’s corpse in such a situation... or rather, they had never thought that the Prophet could be killed.

”I simply rid us of a phony old woman. Why are you so surprised?”

Yet, faced with the nearby muzzle, Fang Zheng didn’t even glance at Mephist. He grinned, looking intently at the creator, whose expression changed unpredictably as he stared at the fallen head of the Prophet at his feet. The aged face, with eyes half-closed, seemed completely unaware of its impending death, displaying a bewildered expression.

Watching the Prophet’s head, the creator remained silent for a moment before looking again at Fang Zheng.

”So... you came here to kill me?”

”You got that right.”

Fang Zheng snapped his fingers.

”Your actions have become intolerable to the Motherbody, so for the sake of human peace and the world, I kindly ask you to die. Don’t worry, I’m a professional. It’ll only hurt at first, but I promise to make your passing painless.”

”You must be joking!”

Hearing this, Neo finally lost his patience. He stared at Fang Zheng as if looking at a madman.

”This is the creator, the man who created the whole virtual world. How could you possibly kill him?”

”Created the whole virtual world?”

Confronted with Neo’s question, Fang Zheng arched an eyebrow.

”Perhaps, as a human, he was indeed the creator of the Motherbody. Unfortunately, when he became part of the Motherbody as a program, he was merely a subproject. You can call him the creator, or you can rename him Tom Cruise or whatever... Does being named God mean I actually am God?”

”Um...”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, Neo paused momentarily but quickly recovered.

”So what you’re saying is...”

”Exactly.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng again looked at the elderly man before him.

”This is merely a program named ’creator.’ You might think he looks all-knowing and omnipotent, or mysterious and fully in control. That’s natural, since that’s his character setting. If even an NPC can’t maintain its character, then this truly would be a crappy game.”

”......”

Hearing this, Neo and Trinity were left speechless with their mouths agape. This moment, Mephist unhesitatingly raised his gun and aimed at Fang Zheng again.

”Regardless, you can’t kill him! He’s the only one who can change all this! I don’t care if he’s a program or something else, I just want the Savior to save our world!”

But facing Mephist’s threat, Fang Zheng merely glanced at him indifferently.

”I have no interest in conversing with the illiterate.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng reached out his hand toward Nymph.

”Nymph, the sword.”

”Yes, master.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s command, Nymph nodded. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a massive one-handed sword quietly appeared, settling in Fang Zheng’s hand—his beloved Vampire. Although this was the virtual world, and he had not brought his actual weapon, this was clearly not an issue for Fang Zheng, as he could simply have Little Angel create one directly.

And it could even be specifically customized.

”Stop!!”

Seeing this unfold, Mephist became even more anxious. He stared at Fang Zheng, then forcefully pulled the trigger—at that moment, the light trigger felt incredibly heavy, as if it weighed a thousand pounds, making it impossible for him to pull. Not only that, he was horrified to find that he couldn’t even move at all!

”What have you done to me?!”

Along with Mephist’s roar of anger, it was then that others realized they were also completely immobilized. Not just Trinity, but even Neo looked as if he was a statue, rooted in place. Everyone showed a surprised expression. This kind of power... even Neo had never used it!!

”What’s all the fuss about? GM is maintaining game balance here, shut up if you don’t understand!” freёNovelFire-com

Fang Zheng snorted coldly and then raised the giant sword in his hand, coming before the Creator. The Creator, however, merely looked at him indifferently without saying a word.

”Okay, if you have no last words, then it ends here...”

”No!! Stop!! Stop!! You can’t do this!! You are destroying humanity’s last hope———!! You damn bastard!!”

”Haah...”

Hearing the shouting of Mephist from behind, Fang Zheng put down the giant sword and turned his head to look at the angry middle-aged Black man.

”Honestly, I’ve never been fond of idiots. Being stupid isn’t a sin, but thinking you know the truth when you’re actually stupid is a problem. Out of pity for you, I’ll let you die enlightened, lest you go down cursing me as a traitor to humanity... Yes, it’s indeed necessary. Now is a good time to figure out who really is the traitor of humanity.”

”What do you mean by that?”

At this point, Trinity also spoke, sensing a huge secret hidden within Fang Zheng’s words as a woman. Moreover, from his words...... could it be that she and her companions were the prime culprits behind humanity’s destruction?

”It’s simple.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng casually strolled up to Neo and Trinity.

”You’ve all met Mephist, so you must have heard his delusional story. Something about humans being turned into biological batteries by robots and such nonsense...”

”That’s not delusion, it’s the truth!!”

”How annoying.”

Fang Zheng frowned upon hearing Mephist’s retort.

”Nymph, silence his voice. I hate it when someone interrupts me.”

”As you wish, master.”

Soon, Mephist’s voice completely disappeared, and the people could only see his lips moving without hearing any sound. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng turned around, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a TV remote, pressing it toward the TV in front of him. Soon, a screen appeared before everyone.

”Is this... Zion’s mainframe?”

”Now, let’s sort through the entire sequence of events.”

Accompanying Fang Zheng’s voice, a series of images began to play on the TV, showing the origins of the events within The Matrix of Hackers.

At the beginning of the 21st century, humans successfully developed AI and quickly used robots to replace humans in production work. Consequently, many people lost their jobs, blaming everything on the robots. Soon, the conflict between humans and robots erupted, with occasional attacks being launched on robots. Eventually, robots began to retaliate.

The robots’ rebellion naturally failed. They were discarded and thrown into junkyards. However, some robots escaped this land and built their own Kingdom in an uninhabited area. They began to gradually occupy the human market by selling low-priced, high-quality goods to human society in order to control it.

Under these circumstances, humans couldn’t sit idle anymore. The rulers clashed with the robots. They attempted to send armies to attack the robots’ kingdom but were defeated by the robots. At the same time, the robots sent envoys, hoping for peaceful coexistence with humans. But of course, this was met with resistance from humans who reignited the war with the robots.

Eventually, humans were defeated. To completely annihilate the robots, they even launched weapons to block out the sun, cutting off the robots’ energy sources. However, what humans didn’t expect was that the robots found another way—using humans as an energy source and battery to power themselves.

In the end, the human forces were totally defeated, and humanity was enslaved by the robots.

This Earth, thus, came under the rule of robots.

”This is everything you know, right?”

After watching the images on the TV screen, Fang Zheng curled his lips, then signaled Nymph, and soon, Mephist’s ”mute” was lifted, and at this moment, Mephist was staring coldly at Fang Zheng.

”Yes, since you know too, why are you trying to stop all this?”

”Haah...”

Hearing Mephist’s question, Fang Zheng reached up to press his forehead, sighing reluctantly.

”This is why ignorance is truly scary... Didn’t you even attend college? I guess before your detachment from the Motherbody, you must have been playing basketball or football. Didn’t you realize from beginning to end, it was all a lie?”

”What did you say...?”

Upon hearing this, Neo, Mephist, and Trinity were completely stunned, and Fang Zheng sneered.

”I said... you people with malfunctioning brains... have been deceived from the very beginning.”
