Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 462: Chapter 461: I’m Desperate Too!

”Ding... Ding... Ding...”

The bells rang again, echoing in everyone’s ears.

The Judgement Ceremony had ended.

In a way that no one had expected.

The scene before them began to fade, and quickly, the Demi-Plane they were in rapidly vanished, returning everyone to Golden Bay. Their faces were pale, but their eyes, looking upon Black Katie, held a newfound reverence.

Previously, these people had merely regarded Black Katie as a mere girl, but now, that perception had changed. Though Black Katie remained silent, showing no response and just standing quietly beside Fang Zheng, the way people looked at her and their expressions had completely changed.

Seat of Apex.

No one had taken this title seriously before, but from now on, it would resound across the continent. Because this would be the first appearance of a Transcendent on this continent after hundreds of years...a type of being that had nearly vanished from this mortal world, one that had only existed in myth and legend!

Among this group, Bishop Carl and Grand Knight Astor accepted this the quickest. After all, they had long believed Fang Zheng was a messenger of the Deity, so it was natural for the Shrine Maiden to possess such immense power, a manifestation of the deity’s might. This was normal, everyone sit down, there’s no need to be astonished. The power of a deity is irresistible, so possessing such power was within reason.

However, some simply could not accept it.

”Master Kara!!”

General John fell to his knees, his eyes wide open, piercing the ground before him, utterly refusing to believe what had just transpired. Had Master Kara truly been killed so effortlessly? Their guardian god of the Kingdom of Flame, that great Dragon Slayer—dead just like that?

No! Impossible!!

General John had grown up hearing tales of Kara. In his view, this Dragon Slayer was a godlike being, even more potent than the so-called Goddess of Order preached by the Kingdom of the Holy Church! After all, that Goddess of Order was merely a character from scriptures, a fictional persona. But Kara was a living deity of their Kingdom of Flame—a real myth!

But now, that myth had been shattered right before his eyes.

In the most brutal way imaginable.

If Master Kara had been defeated after a fierce battle, perhaps General John wouldn’t have lost his composure so much. After all, although Master Kara had stepped into the Extraordinary Domain, he was still human. But... that girl hadn’t even moved, yet she killed him instantly!

Is this the true power of a Transcendent?

Foolish.

Looking at the undignified General John, Fang Zheng was expressionless, yet inside, he was slightly amused. In fact, only Fang Zheng knew Black Katie’s true strength. Initially, when he had acquired Black Katie, she was a ”Golden Grade” Soulstone.

What does Golden Grade represent?

A Fantasy Grade Soulstone is a real deity, and a Silver Rank Soulstone is a servant of a god, so the powers of Golden Grade are clearly evident.

Demigod.

This was the true power of Black Katie, the Grand Priestess who serves the Ritual Snake of the highest-ranking God of Creation; how could she be merely Transcendent?

Did you really think her title ”Seat of Apex” was for nothing?

Of course, apart from Fang Zheng, nobody else knew this yet. This was the result when the gap in strength was too vast; they simply didn’t understand why Black Katie could kill Kara with just one blow—the reason was that as the Grand Priestess, she could directly harness divine power. Only, such a revered figure seldom acted this way, much like you wouldn’t shoot a bullet at an ant when you could easily crush it with your finger.

Of course, for ordinary people, obtaining a gun (divine power) might be exceedingly difficult, but for someone who already possesses a gun (divine power), it’s as simple as pulling it out, disengaging the safety, and pulling the trigger.

Well, if Fang Zheng were to describe it using a movie scene he’s familiar with—it would be like a master swordsman roaring angrily, lifting his longsword high, and executing a move called ”Heavenly Flower Rain,” creating a dreamlike illusion of sword lights shielding his body, offensive and defensive, as chilling Sword Qi howled out, causing all the onlookers to gasp in astonishment.

Then Black Katie quietly took out a handgun and fired at the happily sword-dancing swordsman.

Such is the disparity.

”You, you actually killed Master Kara!!”

At that moment, General John finally lost control. He stood up, his eyes red with rage, glaring at Fang Zheng as he yelled loudly.

”You will pay for what you have done!! We from Fanriel will absolutely not let this go! Prepare yourselves for the wrath of Fanriel!”

”What?!”

Upon hearing General John’s outright threat, everyone was taken aback, not expecting the situation to develop this way. Had Fanriel lost its mind? To declare war here, against an unknown force whose depths hadn’t yet been gauged? What would Fang Zheng do in response? Would this make him cautious?

”Oh.”

But faced with General John’s furious tirade, Fang Zheng simply crossed his arms and responded indifferently.

”And so?”

”So...? You...!”

General John’s words were never completed because at that moment, a massive shadow fell over his head, accompanied by the howling wind and air currents. Not far behind Fang Zheng, a Paladin-Class Raider was gradually descending, its huge cannon barrels rotating as if by accident, aiming in their direction.

”..........”

Seeing the huge metal warship, General John, whose mind had initially been clouded by anger, finally calmed down.

Just as Fang Zheng had said, he killed Kara, but so what? Did Fanriel want revenge? Very well, but so what?

That’s right, so what? What can you do to me?

”Hmm......”

This was the first time General John had felt this powerless, the Kingdom of Flame always presented itself in a powerful image before other nations. They possessed a seemingly unbeatable and vast fleet that never needed to care for the squabbles of smaller nations. Even the Kingdom of the Holy Church and Magitech Nation had never been taken seriously; they would just hold their heads high, go wherever they wished, and enter anyone’s waters, dismissing diplomatic protests with a contemptuous ”And so?”

But now, the tables had turned, and it was their turn to taste this feeling.

”... Master Kara was a legendary figure of our Kingdom of Flame. Isn’t this too much, sir? You are making an enemy out of our Kingdom of Flame! You are disrupting the order and peace of this world! Even if you threaten us with military force, we will never bow! We believe that truth is always on our side!”

”Interesting.”

Listening to General John speak, Fang Zheng smiled slightly.

”However, I hold a different view; I’ve always believed that truth lies within the range of a cannon... Do you want to test how far my truth extends?”

”.........”

Facing Fang Zheng’s blatant rogue-like demeanor, General John was completely lost for words.

How could this be? Wasn’t he a Holy Knight of the Sanctuary? According to General John’s understanding of the Holy Church, those people were supposed to care about face and reason. How could there be such a person who acts on the principle ’I am strong because I am amazing, do you have a problem with that?’

”Alright, the Judgement Ceremony has ended, and I have won. So next... Well, it’s your turn to fulfill my demands...”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng snapped his fingers, and Nymph immediately stepped forward, handing two scroll to them—clearly prepared in advance.

”Don’t worry, I won’t make your leaders bark like dogs or have them perform a striptease in drag...”

Upon hearing this, General John turned a steely blue, while the chubby representative beside him showed a disappointed expression. For the people of the Land of Wealth, they were actually quite willing to perform a striptease; what did losing face matter? Can one sell dignity for money? But if the other party were to demand outrageously... it would truly be painful!

You can take my wife, kill my family, but please, don’t take my money!!

”I only need a little compensation... Hmm, I think that shouldn’t be a problem for you.”

”..........”

Listening to Fang Zheng’s words, General John and the chubby delegate picked up the scrolls and opened them, then looked inside, their faces turning pale simultaneously.

”This is robbery!!!”

General John roared, veins bulging on his forehead, while the response of the chubby delegate was simpler; he just groaned, clutched his chest, his eyes rolled back, and he fell down without getting up!

Meanwhile, the agreement unfolded in front of the others, and seeing the contents, everyone was shocked. It demanded astronomically high quality Spirit Crystals and a similar astronomical amount of various Alchemy Materials, including many that were classified as ”national military materials” for military alchemy! All these materials together were enough to arm the armies of a medium-sized nation!

Just as General John had said, this was outright robbery!

”These are just minor requests, or are you saying...”

As he spoke this, Fang Zheng snorted coldly.

”You’re thinking of defaulting?”

”I......”

Frankly, General John tried to default, but watching the steel warship silently descending again behind Fang Zheng... he swallowed his next words.

What could I do? I was truly desperate!!
