Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 466: Chapter 465: Someone Requesting Support?

Looking at the card pool before him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but think, ”Should I really draw from it?”

If it were some simple boost, he would have drawn without hesitation, but this ”Abnormal Race”... well, Fang Zheng always had a bad feeling about it. Considering his understanding of the Abnormal Race... he feared that this pool was poisoned... He carefully imagined that he had already drawn three characters who were either the Lich King or the Queen of Blades, with the remaining one being an Angel of Death, and the only one that appeared to be a deity looked like a final boss intent on destroying the world.

This ”Abnormal Race”...

Fang Zheng hesitated for a while, but ultimately chose to give up. He didn’t want to draw another terrible boss.

And the chances of drawing a boss from this Abnormal Race were just too high.

”Forget it, forget it, for now I’m not really lacking in Soulstones. I’ll wait until next month,” he said to himself.

As he comforted himself, Fang Zheng closed the system and walked to the window to look out at the Heavenly Dao Palace.

The current state of the Heavenly Dao Palace was bustling and more lively than before. Since returning from Golden Bay, Fang Zheng had devoted all his attention to playing ”Simulated City.” He had taken city planning principles from the world he once lived in and had made comprehensive improvements to the Heavenly Dao Palace.

At the moment, in the center of the Heavenly Dao Palace, a large pyramid-like building stood tall, with azure Crystals floating around its pinnacle and sides. This was the Star Spirit Hub that Fang Zheng had directly exchanged for from the marketplace using a large number of his Dimensional Points.

Around the Star Spirit Hub, a ring of Crystal Towers were neatly arranged. Within the coverage of these towers, there were various Star Spirit constructs including forges, factories, and Control Cores. Small Tanjis bustled about within, completing their tasks.

Fang Zheng didn’t build these Star Spirit constructs just to waste money; it was because the Star Spirits’ construction methods were different from other races. Humans and Alien Insects mostly used local materials for on-site construction. However, the Star Spirits’ weapons and structures were made in the main base and then teleported to the battlefield.

Since the Cursed Child, his main force, primarily used Star Spirit technology for battle, it was necessary to pair their fighting style with the manufacture of Star Spirit weapons and equipment. This area occupied by the Star Spirit buildings was also designated by Fang Zheng as the ”Core Zone,” mainly for the research of various technologies and magic powers, and also serving for training purposes.

Outside the ”Core Zone” were three academies with their subsidiary institutions and the ”Defense Zone” where the Guardian’s Office was located. Only students from the academies and Sea Mist’s Mind Models were allowed into this area, as entry was prohibited for others without authorization.

Beyond this was the residential and commercial area. This area mainly provided housing for the Cursed Children and also jobs for them. After all, with the expansion, the Heavenly Dao Palace took in more Cursed Children every day, and to allow these Cursed Children to live orderly lives within the Heavenly Dao Palace, naturally, there was a lot of work to be done.

”Ahh... what a sense of accomplishment...”

Looking at the increasingly prosperous Heavenly Dao Palace before him, Fang Zheng nodded in satisfaction. At first glance, he saw the red brick and yellow tiled European-style villas and shops bustling with people, brimming with vitality. Further in the distance, he could clearly see the Crystal Towers and the Star Spirit Hub, glowing with psionic radiance and floating in midair.

Among the clouds, the silhouettes of iron behemoths appeared and disappeared...

So was this a rural style or a science fiction one?

Whatever, as long as it looked good.

Taking a deep breath of the air, fragrant with the scent of fresh grass, Fang Zheng hummed a tune as he stepped out of his bedroom, and there, the Vampire and Fumie Busei had already been waiting.

”Ah, Commander, you’re awake?”

As Fang Zheng emerged from the room, the Vampire looked up from the sofa and waved at him. Standing beside her, Midori gave a faint smile and approached Fang Zheng.

”Big brother... um, I’ve brought the documents.”

”Thank you, Midori.”

Seeing the cat-eared loli before him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but reach out to pinch her cat ears, then sat down at his desk. At this moment, the Little Black Cat and the Little Fire Dragon who had been napping on the desk also lifted their heads to gaze at Fang Zheng. Then, with a few squeaky noises, the Little Fire Dragon rubbed its head against Fang Zheng’s cheek before scampering to the other side of the desk and curled up like a well-behaved dog. Meanwhile, the Little Black Cat rolled over directly onto Fang Zheng’s lap, squinted its eyes, and continued its slumber.

Looking at the kitten’s lazy demeanor, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but smile as he stretched out his finger and poked its fluffy little belly. The kitten yawned, closed its eyes, and, like a baby, gently bit Fang Zheng’s finger while holding it in its mouth.

’Oh my... Why is this cat so cute? Forget work, let’s just indulge in cat-snuggling... Ah, never mind, work is more important.’

Fang Zheng shook his head, forcibly pulling himself away from the kitten’s charm, and then focused his gaze on the document in front of him.

Fortunately, everything in the Heavenly Dao Palace was normal, so most of what occurred were trivial matters. The Cursed Children were also well-behaved; after living through the precarious life in the Pitch Black World, they cherished their current peaceful days even more. Of course, if there were any complaints...

’They hope to set up a TV station?’

Fang Zheng was taken aback when he saw the application before him, then turned to look at Fumie Busei, who nodded in confirmation.

’Yes, it’s everyone’s wish... a lot of people live in the Heavenly Dao Palace, but we still want to know what’s happening outside... especially this time, when big brother took everyone out... After coming back, many people were envious, but... we could only post some messages and videos on the forum...’

’Hmm...’

Hearing this, Fang Zheng fell into thought, admitting to himself that he hadn’t considered this issue. But now it seemed indeed important. The media has always been key in consolidating the centripetal force of a nation. Previously, Fang Zheng hadn’t had the time to deal with these matters, but now he was thinking whether he should live stream or send a camera team every time he took everyone on adventures to other worlds. After all, only a few Cursed Children qualified to travel with Fang Zheng through dimensional planes for adventures, while the majority could only work behind the scenes in the Heavenly Dao Palace day after day.

If they could set up a TV station to broadcast some of these records and footage, it would obviously be more conducive to harmony and unity within the Heavenly Dao Palace.

However... it would require a lot of professional staff to produce TV content...

’I’ll think of something.’

In the end, that was the response Fang Zheng could give, as he remembered there weren’t many professional broadcasters and filmmakers in the realm of games and anime.

There were plenty of reporters in the movies, but Fang Zheng didn’t dare to hire those. Each one was an anarchist liberal, all out to subvert societies and destroy humanity; he certainly didn’t want such people bringing the concept of press freedom to his Heavenly Dao Palace...

So, what next...

’Beep, beep, beep—!!’

Just as Fang Zheng was about to flip to another page of the document, suddenly, an urgent system alert rang in his ears. At the sound, Fang Zheng was startled, then he opened the Dimensional Codex, only to see with surprise that in the upper left of the system screen, a system alert was popping up.

Is there really an Assistance Task?

Seeing the information before him, Fang Zheng was taken back. Generally, Assistance Tasks were requests for help from player to player, so what was the deal with his Assistance Task?

However, if it’s specifically a Science Fiction one, then... for Fang Zheng, there was clearly only one choice.

’Midori, notify Nymph immediately and tell her to come to me.’
