Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 465: Chapter 464: People Don’t Get Rich Without Windfalls

Carl, the Bishop, showed an enthusiasm for Fang Zheng’s ”little gift” that far exceeded his expectations. Upon receiving the formula and sample of the nutrient solution, he even chose to directly activate the special teleportation gate, reserved for emergencies, and teleported back to the Holy City from Golden Bay.

Three days later, Fang Zheng received the first batch of Spirit Crystals from the Kingdom of the Holy Church through the strategic goods transfer device. After that, the Land of Wealth and the Kingdom of Flame followed suit, sending over their ”war indemnities” in succession. Fang Zheng had previously wondered if these people would ever attempt to test the ”curse” of the Judgement Ceremony; it seemed, however, that although they were quite aggrieved, they all understood the concept of averting disaster by losing wealth...

Having obtained enough Spirit Crystals and other materials, Fang Zheng was satisfied as he returned to the Heavenly Dao Palace with his group, laden with spoils.

”It’s true that one does not become rich without sudden windfalls...”

Looking at the Dimensional Points and Crystal Energy displayed by the system, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but emotionally reflect; at this moment, his Dimensional Points had almost reached the system’s upper limit. To the uninformed, it would seem as though Fang Zheng had finally succeeded in hacking into the system and modifying the Dimensional Points! ƒгeewebnovёl_com

However, regrettably, even though Fang Zheng now had so many Dimensional Points at hand, it was still somewhat insufficient for his needs.

The reason was simple: the number of places where Fang Zheng needed to use Dimensional Points was increasing.

Previously, Fang Zheng was a loner with only a few cats around him, so of course, he didn’t need too many Dimensional Points. On the contrary, he had to constantly worry about running out of them. But now, he had the Heavenly Dao Palace, the Sea Mist Fleet, and also needed to absorb a large number of Cursed Children from the Pitch Black World, all of which required spending Dimensional Points.

Especially with the expansion of the Heavenly Dao Palace, Fang Zheng previously didn’t have enough Furniture Coins to exchange for sufficient housing and expand the school, so he could only limit the number of Cursed Children from the Pitch Black World going to the Heavenly Dao Palace. But now, with a significant number of Dimensional Points at his disposal, Fang Zheng could prioritize converting these points into Furniture Coins and then exchange them for various buildings.

Thus, Fang Zheng divided his current Dimensional Points on hand into three parts.

One part was for the use of the Sea Mist Fleet, specifically for manufacturing mind models and purchasing warships for fusion, and also, this portion of points would be responsible for sustaining the Sea Mist Fleet’s consumption during external combat operations.

The second part was for maintaining and expanding the operation of the Heavenly Dao Palace. Thanks to the efforts of people like Black Katie, more and more Cursed Children were joining the workforce, increasing the number of people Fang Zheng could deploy, naturally requiring more buildings and various public facilities. Of course, apart from this, Fang Zheng had also spent Dimensional Points to purchase a batch of Star Spirit factories from the hidden section of the marketplace, in order to develop further the defensive forces of the Heavenly Dao Palace and research Star Spirit Technology.

The last part was Fang Zheng’s personal points, which he needed to improve his inherent skills and to keep on hand for emergencies and top-up for drawing Soulstones.

After obtaining the Dimensional Points, Fang Zheng couldn’t wait to immediately upgrade his ”Dimensional Passage,” ”Gene Absorption,” and ”Royal Cross Swordsmanship” to EX rank. Of course, each skill reaching the highest level comes with additional perks, and these three skills were no exception.

After ”Dimensional Passage” was upgraded to EX, the limits of Fang Zheng’s portal increased by 10,000 points, signifying that he could summon most creatures and even a considerable portion of the Zerg army for battle. Furthermore, the extra reward for upgrading the Dimensional Passage to EX was the ”ability to select three Dimensional Commanders for free summoning,” meaning Fang Zheng could use this method to call Shana and Nanoka to his side for battle without additional Dimensional Point costs.

Once the ”Gene Absorption” skill was upgraded to EX rank, the range Fang Zheng could absorb expanded significantly; previously, he could only absorb species of a lower rank or power than himself. But now, with the upgrade to EX rank, Fang Zheng could even absorb more powerful beings, making their Power of Existence his own. Additionally, after reaching the top rank, ”Gene Absorption” was renamed to ”Ability Absorption,” with its description changing from absorbing genes to copying and absorbing abilities.

This meant that Fang Zheng could not only gain the target’s physical strength but could also absorb their special abilities and skills, greatly expanding the applicability of this power.

However, ”Ability Absorption” was not entirely invincible. Although its scope had increased, if Fang Zheng rashly chose targets much stronger than himself, he would have to spend a considerable amount of Dimensional Points. Additionally, after using ”Ability Absorption,” a cooldown period was needed... well, about a 300-hour cooldown, to be precise.

As for ”Royal Cross Swordsmanship,” after reaching EX rank, it finally became part of the fixed skill set, and Fang Zheng no longer had to switch to Arthas’s Soulstone to use it like before. Not only that, upon upgrading to EX rank, Fang Zheng was able to freely select an additional occupational skill!

For Fang Zheng, this was naturally a fine reward, but the problem was... can someone with choice paralysis afford the pain?

Originally, Fang Zheng had decided to choose Shadow Cloak as his new skill reward. He had already made the ”Royal Cross Swordsmanship” an inherent skill, so invincibility was naturally not a concern. And with Shadow Cloak’s immunity to control and magic effects, it naturally rose to the top of Fang Zheng’s list of favorites.

Not to mention, he was once one of the sneak thieves before his rebirth, so he was naturally even more attentive to the Shadow Cloak skill.

But after seeing the Paladin’s ”Redemption,” the Priest’s ”Resurrection Technique,” the Magician’s ”Soulstone,” and the Druid’s ”Resurrection” skills, Fang Zheng immediately fell into a dilemma of choice.

How is he supposed to choose?!

In the end, after much hesitation, Fang Zheng still chose the Soulstone as his additional professional skill. After all, a Soulstone can bind to oneself or someone else, and for the current Fang Zheng, Resurrection Technique was no longer taboo. On the contrary, with the aura he currently wore, casting a Resurrection Technique would only make people more convinced of his identity.

As compensation, Fang Zheng chose to upgrade ”Malthael’s” ”Gap Between Life and Death” to EX rank, which, upon reaching EX, would likewise remain as an inherent skill. At the same time, the effect changed so that Fang Zheng could switch his state at will and be unaffected by any power that doesn’t carry death or destructive force.

As for the ”Scythe of the Soul,” Fang Zheng hesitated and eventually chose to pass. After all, an automatic striking passive with an instant death effect was too hard to control, and Fang Zheng feared that he might accidentally take a life without restraint, which would be a true tragedy.

Just like with ”Royal Cross Swordsmanship” when Fang Zheng upgraded ”Gap Between Life and Death” to EX, he also received an additional reward—”Soul Domain.”

”Soul Domain: Your body resides in the gap between life and death, you have comprehended the true essence of death, you dominate the world of souls, guiding lost spirits to their destined realms (can absorb, capture dead souls, and bind or transform them into Soulstone and Crystal Energy)”

Fang Zheng had to admit, the effect of this ability was quite good, it could be said to solve another pressing problem for him, though when he saw the absorption limit, he knew that if he didn’t absorb a thousand souls or so, he shouldn’t count on earning any Crystal Energy... but it was better than nothing.

What Fang Zheng most wanted to improve was the ”Time Manipulation” skill, but annoyingly, when he tried to upgrade, the system informed him that because Fang Zheng had obtained the bloodline of a Time Dragon, this skill could no longer be upgraded through the system. This meant that if Fang Zheng wanted to continue improving ”Time Manipulation,” he would have to level up the Time Dragon. If he could bring the Time Dragon to the Ancient rank, then ”Time Manipulation” would naturally reach EX...

Fang Zheng was completely speechless... although he had previously considered that the Points needed for ”Time Manipulation” would probably be more than he could afford even if he sold himself. But that free pie... really wasn’t set to fall easily!

After returning to the Heavenly Dao Palace, Fang Zheng immediately went back to his room, took a bath, and got ready... that’s right, with so many Spirit Crystals converted into Dimensional Points, he had to at least try a ten-summon!

Come on, let’s see what’s up for this month’s ten-summon?

After taking a bath and changing his clothes, Fang Zheng opened the summoning pool in front of him with a devout heart.

”This month’s boost: Abnormal Race UP”

...........

What the hell is this?!
