Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 396: Chapter 349: Legendary Tribute (Supersized 10,000-Word Chapter!!) (Part 5)

But this also caused his progress to be consistently unsuccessful.

When he saw Homiga performing in Castelia City, he was drawn to her immediately. Despite the people around him not thinking much of pop singers, he greatly admired Homiga, who was not much older than him yet possessed such formidable talent.

On a whim, he followed Homiga with his own instruments to her base in Liyong City.

This move directly led to all his previous relationships being severed. By the time he realized, there was no place for him in Unova’s classical music circle, nor could he fulfill his parents’ wishes to carry forward their music.

Therefore.

When he found himself with no path forward, the musician who originally intended to become a Trainer began considering alternative methods.

He discovered through his parents’ journals that traveling while playing music could sharpen his skills, expand his knowledge, and bring inspiration for composing.

If he could challenge all eight Gyms, he could reach the greatest stage mentioned in his parents’ will—the Huiyuan Conference.

After comprehensive consideration.

The musician resolutely embarked on his journey.

And now, up to the present story.

Baimu finished reading the narrator’s recount and felt perhaps the musician misunderstood something, as the Huiyuan Conference, connected to the Champion Alliance, certainly can be considered the greatest stage... but clearly, his parents meant the greatest musical stage, right?

Of course.

If the musician could perform at the Huiyuan Conference, everyone in Unova could hear it, even those not watching the conference would be passively exposed through internet broadcasts.

From this perspective, the musician’s choice was very correct, and his efforts were not in vain.

Baimu silently watched as he stumbled in his creations, yet did his utmost to improve his Pokémon’s combat power, even asking Homiga to help him train, and often battling with Trainers in Liyong City.

Very curious to see how far he could go.

And suddenly one day.

The musician stood up from the piano and threw countless musical scores into the sky.

The narrator answered Baimu’s confusion.

[You’ve succeeded]

[You’ve realized that this piece is likely to be your greatest masterpiece, that no matter what, you’ll never be able to create such a ’perfect’ work again]

[You think to yourself, you must fulfill your parents’ wishes and, with your Pokémon ensemble, reach the highest score at the Huiyuan Conference. And your determination has been precisely conveyed to your Pokémon.]

Baimu blinked, suddenly seeing a blurred shadow moving towards the musician in the bottom right corner of the light screen.

The screen suddenly darkened.

”Hmm? What’s going on? What happened?”

He was startled, only to find that when the screen reappeared.

It was already the opening day of the Huiyuan Conference.

Whether Jigglypuff evolved was not explained, nor what happened after that blurred shadow dashed over.

”What is going on here.”

Baimu couldn’t help scratching his head.

Preliminaries.

The musician’s attire was somewhat odd, as amongst all the Trainers dressed as lightly as possible, he alone carried a guitar case and a small bag, making him quite conspicuous.

There was no doubt a guitar in the guitar case, but what was in the other bag?

Baimu quickly got his answer.

When the musician stepped onto the Trainer’s position, took out his guitar and opened the other bag, a black speaker and microphone were immediately exposed to the eyes of him and the many audience members.

Previously, Shaka had told him that the environment in the League Conference was noisy, and his music might not reach the Pokémon’s ears, requiring volume amplification as needed.

So the musician chose to get a microphone and speaker.

Baimu was curious whether this violated the rules, like affecting opponents, but in fact, it did not; the narrative informed him that the League and the eight Gym Leaders confirmed the musician genuinely used music to command his Pokémon, rather than deliberately disrupting opponents, thus permitting him to do so.

There was just a decibel limit.

And thanks to the musician, the audience unprecedentedly saw, for the first time in history, a contestant turning a Pokémon battle into a concert.

The musician achieved something unprecedented, which could be described as remarkably groundbreaking.

It might even be recorded in history.

What further surprised the audience was his combat power.

[You utterly demolished your opponent with overwhelming momentum, and the audience was incredibly shocked by your strength]

[You successfully broke through the preliminaries and reached the preliminary selection stage]

The preliminary selection started from the top sixty-four, and Baimu took a deep breath, watching with anticipation.

But during the competition.

The musician primarily switched between musical genres continuously, ranging from classical music to jazz, rock, blues... except for rap, it was almost all there.

His instruments varied from clarinet, trumpet, tuba to guitar, electronic keyboard, and even bass, etc.

It was dazzling to watch.

Later on, during his matches, the entire venue would become much quieter, as everyone wanted to hear his music. And once they started listening, they couldn’t stop.

[You discover that whenever you go on stage, all the audience members maintain maximum silence, which makes you very happy]

The musician takes the stage, and tens of thousands fall silent.

This scene is extremely rare in competitions.

His results also steadily climbed, quickly advancing past the preliminary selections to the championship tournament.

Yet for some reason, the musician never let Jigglypuff evolve, perhaps worried that post-evolution it might not have the same dramatic vocal qualities as before.
