Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 361: Chapter 340: Twin-Headed Meteor

”That’s all for now.”

Baimu called a stop to Zweilous’s explosive sprinting.

”Hey, woo!” ”Hey, woo!”

Zweilous cried out to indicate it could still persist, then slightly lowered its head and gasped for breath.

”Too much is as bad as too little. Daily training needs to be combined perfectly with real battles to ensure faster and more efficient growth.” He patted both the heads of Zweilous. Even if he couldn’t fully understand the Pokémon’s thoughts, its attitude clearly showed a strong desire to become stronger.

However, although he understood Zweilous’s thoughts, his Golden Finger could not satisfy it in the short term.

Progress must be made step by step in accordance with his own improvement schedule.

Pokémon can be impatient.

Trainers absolutely must remain calm during training and consider the future of the Pokémon.

”Hey, woo...” ”Hey, woo...”

Seeing the Trainer would not let it continue running, Zweilous relaxed its already trembling four legs and lay down on the ground to catch its breath.

The frequent burst-speed short-distance sprints had undoubtedly accumulated quite a bit of fatigue value.

”Truly pushing itself.”

Baimu stroked Zweilous’s furry neck.

With the Pokémon gradually growing stronger, and Baimu gaining more experience through online interactions about Trainers, he had developed new understandings of Pokémon within the animation setting.

Whether concerning personality, habits, or growth.

One rather intuitive point is—short-distance sprints are undoubtedly one of the best ways to train speed, and combining them with long-distance running would likely make Zweilous’s speed less embarrassing.

It’s unavoidable that realistic training cannot precisely align Effort Values like in the games.

For instance, while using running to train speed, endurance will unknowingly grow as well; the possibility of increasing speed without increasing endurance does not exist.

However, from a practical perspective, every Pokémon certainly has different focal directions, and reaching a bottleneck in one ability value won’t affect progress in other areas.

In other words, it’s not ”Effort Value,” but ”endurance level,” with the difference being that the former aims to develop two abilities to the extreme, while the latter allows all abilities, such as dual attack and defense, to be practiced to the limit.

Thus, there is a possibility of multi-faceted development.

Therefore, Physical Attackers in the animation also train Special Attack, reflecting the legacy issues of past settings on one hand, and connecting to all-around development like ”moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor” on the other.

Of course,

this does not overturn Baimu’s initial speculation that ”move power surpasses Pokémon’s dual attacks” in causing damage, but merely proves that the presence of Destructive Beam in the animation has multiple contributing reasons.

And the revealed impact demands him to work even harder in nurturing Pokémon, striving to elevate each ability to the limit.

Suddenly,

he glanced into the distance and smiled.

”Go back into the Pokeball and rest. The person we’ve been waiting for has arrived.”

”Hey, woo?” ”Hey, woo?”

Zweilous raised its heads, and before resting in the ball it caught sight of a green figure steadily approaching.

Another battle?

It became somewhat excited, determined to clear its previous disgrace.

However, as a Trainer, although Baimu shared the same thought, he couldn’t express it too eagerly.

”Awake?”

”Uh-huh...” Mann Chong nodded bashfully, his hair slightly messy due to neglect, as he approached holding an aroma spray, saying: ”Sorry for the trouble! Here, take this back!”

”Keep it. You were influenced by my words, which caused insomnia. You’ll surely need it again. Plus, it’s not something particularly precious.” Baimu waved his hand, smiling: ”Rest well and recharge your energy. I’m looking forward to more battles with you later.”

Mann Chong opened his mouth, looked down at the aroma spray, knowing he’ll likely use it soon.

”Well, well... Thank you very much!”

He bowed deeply.

Strictly speaking, his sleep quality had never been good, not just for a day or two. Ever since losing sight of his goals, he struggled to sleep every night. Thanks to a previous journey that slowly healed his body, he hadn’t collapsed.

Last night’s insomnia resulted from long-term accumulated fatigue suddenly exploding.

Fortunately, with the soothing effect of the spray, after sleeping for several hours, his Spiritual Qi had greatly recovered.

Mann Chong clenched his fist, took the initiative: ”If you don’t mind, I can battle now! My Pokémon are also in high spirits—Ah, sorry, you just finished practicing...”

He belatedly noticed the sweat on Baimu’s clothes and the messy ground of the field.

”It’s alright, let’s do it now.” The latter interrupted Mann Chong’s apology in advance, saying: ”Just change the mode, one-on-one, okay?”

”I’d be honored!”

The green-haired boy nodded vigorously, despite his introverted nature, he maintained the most polite demeanor at all times, and at present, was no exception.

—

After this encounter.

Baimu and Mann Chong’s relationship took a step forward.

And the continuous Pokémon battles also deepened mutual understanding, causing the somewhat introverted Mann Chong to gradually become more lively.

Though not reaching the stage of being socially anxious around strangers and hyperactive around familiar people, Mann Chong indeed experienced significant shifts in his attitude towards Baimu.

The latter frequently held the former in admiration, even though Mann Chong won more battles.

Because Mann Chong was well aware that Baimu would eventually grow stronger than him due to his inferior determination in battle attitude and pursuit of aims.
