Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

”Alright!”

Guy didn’t refuse. He knew Seiryū’s strength well. His combat class scores were always first place, so there was no need for him to hold back.

Guy flashed an enthusiastic smile. ”Be careful, Seiryū. This is my first time using this in actual combat, and I can’t control this power very well yet!”

It had been half a year since he started training in the Eight Gates.

But this was the first time he was using it in actual combat.

He also couldn’t control this power very well.

Originally, his father had said that this power should be used to protect comrades and not be used against them.

But he could sense Seiryū’s fighting spirit and his desire to face him at full power.

At a time like this, he couldn’t let down Seiryū’s expectations. This was also a form of Youth!

Seiryū’s eyes flashed, and he showed a confident smile. ”Go all out, Guy. You should be clear about my strength.”

He was a little curious. How many Gates could Guy open right now?

In the original work, Rock Lee could open the Fifth Gate when he was thirteen or fourteen.

Right now, Guy should be able to open the Third Gate, right?

”Of course!”

Receiving Seiryū’s response, Guy revealed a mouthful of white teeth, then took a deep breath, squatted down, clenched his fists, and roared, ”Eight Gates, First Gate, Gate of Opening, open!”

The First Gate, the Gate of Opening, removed the brain’s limitations, allowing 100% of the body’s functions to be used, though it placed a serious burden on the body.

But Guy continued. Veins bulged on his forehead, and the blood vessels in his arms pulsed continuously. He roared again, ”Second Gate, Gate of Healing, open!”

Opening the Second Gate, the Gate of Healing, removed the limits of physical fatigue, overloading the body and restoring stamina in a way that was nearly self-harming.

Unless the body could no longer bear it, one wouldn’t feel tired, and stamina would seem inexhaustible.

”Third Gate, Gate of Life, open!”

With this final roar, Guy’s voice deepened. As the Third Gate, the Gate of Life, opened, it was as if the blood flow within his body accelerated. His skin flushed with blood and gradually turned red. The Third Gate, the Gate of Life, was the last safe zone of the Eight Gates. Once opened, it further enhanced physical stats, but also significantly increased the burden on the body.

Buzz, buzz, buzz...

Even though he was just a seven- or eight-year-old child who hadn’t yet graduated from the Ninja Academy, the chakra fluctuations emanating from Guy at this moment were not weak.

The light green chakra seemed to materialize, covering the surface of his body. Coupled with Guy’s gritted-teeth expression, he looked somewhat ferocious.

”It really is the Third Gate?”

Seiryū looked at Guy and let out a small breath. It wasn’t beyond his expectations. Guy’s current limit should indeed be the Third Gate.

As a Medical-nin, Seiryū’s vision was excellent. Guy’s muscles were trembling slightly, a sign that only appeared under overload.

If he remembered correctly, in the original work, Might Duy only taught Guy the Eight Gates after he became a Genin.

Guy became a Genin at the age of seven, so the timing wasn’t too far off.

However, being able to open the Third Gate in just half a year truly showed how talented Guy was in taijutsu...

Kakashi, watching from not far away, was also a bit surprised and serious. ”Guy, is he already this strong? No wonder Father said that Guy, like Seiryū, would be a formidable rival for me...”

Obito widened his eyes, his tone astonished. ”Why did Guy’s skin turn red? What kind of ninjutsu is that?”

Asuma, who had received an elite education, still had decent insight. He pondered, ”It doesn’t seem like ninjutsu, but taijutsu?”

It wasn’t just the few of them.

The other students present were also watching Guy with some surprise, but since the fight hadn’t started yet, they couldn’t judge his strength.

Maybe it was just for show?

After all, he was just a student with below-average grades. They didn’t think Guy could be a match for the genius, Seiryū.

”Here I come!”

Guy’s eyes held only Seiryū, his opponent. Taking a deep breath, he pushed off the ground and charged forward. The reaction force even caused the ground to crack slightly.

Guy’s speed was very fast, but it wasn’t the Body Flicker Technique. It was pure physical speed!

Charging straight toward Seiryū, as he got close, Guy suddenly lifted his right leg and swung it out with tremendous force. ”Konoha Whirlwind!”

”Good speed.”

Facing the incoming whip kick, Seiryū neither dodged nor retreated. He raised his arm and met it with a punch, instantly surging his chakra—Monster Strength technique!

Bang!

Fist met foot, creating a muffled, vibrating sound. A burst of kinetic energy dispersed between the two, kicking up dust!

After the clash, both retreated simultaneously.

Guy was slightly inferior, retreating four or five meters.

Seiryū only retreated one step.

”As expected of you, Seiryū. That kind of power is too strong!”

Guy stabilized himself, feeling a slight ache in his right leg bone, but it didn’t affect his movements. His usual training was already extreme, and injuries were common.

Seiryū smiled. ”You’re not bad either, actually blocking my Monster Strength.”

Facing his Monster Strength, even Kakashi would need to temporarily avoid it, yet Guy took it head-on.

After opening the Third Gate, Guy’s strength had truly made a significant leap.

But he wouldn’t lose!

Swoosh! Swoosh!

The two charged toward each other again, colliding once more under the watchful eyes of the students.

Bang!

Fist met fist in a fierce clash. The loud sound resumed as kinetic energy carried sand and stones in all directions. This time, neither retreated, their fists locked together.

Immediately after, their attacks resumed. They simultaneously and tacitly withdrew their hands, following up with even stronger blows aimed at each other.

”Konoha Fierce Rising Rock!”

”Monster Strength Fist!”

Bang!

Elbow met fist in a collision, and instantly, wind pressure swept out. This time, Guy was directly repelled by the immense power, his legs scraping a long trail across the ground.

Before he could stabilize himself, Seiryū executed Shunpo. His speed suddenly increased, instantly closing the distance. Swinging his right arm, he smashed down with a punch. ”Take another punch!”

Boom!

The fierce punch landed, surging chakra erupting into a powerful shockwave that directly cracked the ground, sending stones flying.

However, Guy managed to dodge it.

”Konoha Great Whirlwind!”

After avoiding Seiryū’s attack, Guy didn’t retreat. Instead, he charged forward again, spinning mid-air and using the centrifugal force to give his kick even greater power.

His right leg swung out, sweeping toward Seiryū like a whirlwind.

Bang!

Seeing this, Seiryū simply raised his arm to block, neutralizing the attack. Then, he stepped forward and launched a straight punch.

Guy showed no fear and countered with a straight punch of his own.

Bang! Bang bang bang...

The two engaged in close combat. Both practiced the Steel Fist style, their moves grand and powerful. Every collision resulted in muffled, vibrating sounds, and their speed was dizzying.

A clash of pure taijutsu might not be as flashy as ninjutsu, but the danger involved was far greater...
