Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

Class was dismissed.

Kurenai looked at the transfer student Shizune and asked curiously, ”Shizune, why are you only enrolling now?”

It was rare for the Ninja Academy to have transfer students.

Since it was already the third semester, a new student suddenly joining naturally made her curious.

Facing Kurenai’s question, Shizune thought for a moment before whispering, ”Because I only recently returned to Konoha. Tsunade-sama wanted me to make some friends at the Ninja Academy and also grasp the knowledge taught there.”

Although Tsunade was one of the Sannin famous throughout the ninja world, and a powerful ninja capable of personally instructing her in training,

There were still areas where she lacked expertise.

This return to Konoha was originally meant for her to enter the Ninja Academy to learn various fundamentals and to interact more with her peers.

While speaking, Shizune glanced at Kurenai with a somewhat strange expression.

It seemed that this cute little girl in front of her was the one who made the ramen that ”tasted like soldier pills”... She had tasted it once out of curiosity at the Ninja Hospital.

Her face had immediately twisted in pain.

What terrifying culinary skills!

She had been deeply impressed by Kurenai...

Hearing Tsunade’s name, Kurenai became more interested and asked excitedly, ”Tsunade-sama? Shizune, are you Tsunade-sama’s disciple?”

Tsunade was her goal. Her only dream was to become a strong female ninja like Tsunade!

”I don’t think so?”

Shizune thought for a moment and shook her head. ”Although I’ve always followed Tsunade-sama, she hasn’t officially taken me as a disciple.”

”I see.” Kurenai blinked, her tone filled with a bit of hesitation. ”Shizune, what kind of person is Tsunade-sama? Is she as strong and reliable as the rumors say?”

Ever since she had witnessed the unreliability of Jiraiya the Pervy Sage, the image of the Sannin in her mind had somewhat collapsed.

But she still held out hope... thinking that Tsunade shouldn’t be that unreliable!

”Hmm...”

When this topic came up, Shizune didn’t quite know how to respond. After hesitating for a while, she gave a slightly stiff nod. ”Tsunade-sama is indeed a very powerful ninja...”

She was undoubtedly powerful.

But as for being reliable... thinking about Tsunade’s gambling, drinking, and her tendency to default on debts,

Shizune really couldn’t bring herself to say the word ”reliable.” It felt too dishonest.

However, aside from those bad habits, Tsunade was still amazing!

Then Shizune looked at Kurenai curiously. Knowing that Kurenai and Seiryū were siblings, she asked, ”Kurenai, haven’t you seen Tsunade-sama? Tsunade-sama has been guiding Seiryū’s training recently...”

She had occasionally followed Tsunade to the training ground and had seen Seiryū several times, so he wasn’t a stranger.

”Huh?”

Kurenai was surprised. She looked at Seiryū, who was lying sprawled across his desk, with a suspicious expression.

She couldn’t help but poke him in the waist and ask in surprise, ”Seiryū, is Tsunade-sama guiding your training?”

Because she had been focusing on Genjutsu training, she hadn’t spent much time with Seiryū recently.

She didn’t know anything about this.

Seiryū, startled by the poke to his sensitive spot, swatted away Kurenai’s hand, turned his head, and gave her a warning glare before nodding. ”Didn’t I tell you?”

Kurenai fell silent. ”...”

”Did you tell me?”

”No?”

”No!” Kurenai pursed her lips, glared, and gritted her teeth until they made a ”gege” sound. ”You knew I worship Tsunade-sama, and you didn’t tell me! You despicable Seiryū!”

Seiryū pouted. ”What’s so great about worshiping that Bad Woman? She’s even more unreliable than Jiraiya-sensei!”

After nearly a month of spending time together—no, it should be called forced interaction—

Tsunade’s image had completely collapsed. In his mind, it had fallen to the ground and couldn’t be picked up again.

She was a gambler, an alcoholic, had a terrible temper, loved hitting him on the head, and was always robbing him of his small savings.

A pure Bad Woman!

If not for her good looks, her impressive ’assets,’ and the real progress he made in Monstrous Strength under her guidance,

Seiryū would have quit long ago.

She was harder to deal with than the most troublesome child.

Could you imagine a six or seven-year-old kid like him having to help a drunken Tsunade stumble home?

That had happened more than a few times over the past twenty-some days!

The worst part was that Seiryū was the one who paid for the alcohol...

”Bad Woman?”

Kurenai caught the resentment in Seiryū’s voice.

What exactly did Tsunade-sama do?

How could she earn such an evaluation from Seiryū?

Although Seiryū was occasionally unreliable, he was generally very polite. How could this be...

Curious, Kurenai quickly pressed him, ”Did Tsunade-sama do something to you?”

Seiryū sighed deeply, sounding incredibly aggrieved. ”That Bad Woman gambles, drinks heavily, has a nasty temper, dragged me to the izakaya, and I ended up being the one who paid...”

Kurenai: ”...”

After the disappointment with Jiraiya the Pervy Sage, now even Tsunade’s image was starting to collapse.

Please don’t let this happen!

Shizune: ”...”

She could already picture the scene—it was definitely something Tsunade-sama would do.

But Seiryū actually paid obediently? Shouldn’t Tsunade-sama have taken him and run off to avoid the bill?

Seiryū was still too honest!

”Jiraiya-sensei? Tsunade-sama?”

A surprised voice sounded—it was Obito.

His face was filled with astonishment and disbelief. ”Seiryū, your Sensei is Jiraiya-sama? And you’ve also received guidance from Tsunade-sama?”

He had naturally heard of the Sannin’s reputation.

He never expected Seiryū, with his thick eyebrows and large eyes, to be Jiraiya’s disciple?

And to have received guidance from Tsunade?

That was really enviable.

Having Jiraiya, one of the Sannin, as a Sensei, and guidance from Tsunade as well... just how strong was Seiryū now?

Damn it, the gap seemed to be getting wider!

”That’s right.” Seiryū didn’t deny it and even grinned. ”So, Obito, are you still planning to duel me?”

Obito was a bit intimidated, but he absolutely couldn’t back down in front of the girl he liked. He gritted his teeth and said, ”O-of course! We of the Uchiha Clan never fall behind in life! I’ll surpass you one day, so don’t celebrate too soon!”

Although the System didn’t ’ding,’ since Obito was so fired up, Seiryū decided to humor him. He smiled and said, ”Fine, then let me see your progress during the break in this afternoon’s practical combat class.”

Since challenges during the practical combat class couldn’t be refused, he had accepted his fate. Let whatever happens, happen.

He wondered if he could farm some missions.

The final exam last semester didn’t refresh any missions, and now, mission refreshes were becoming increasingly rare. The last time was during the Nine-Tails’ rampage.

Seiryū suspected he had probably already passed the novice stage...
