Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

”Prove the Sealing Techniques of the Uzumaki Clan?” After listening to Seiryū’s words, Kushina’s emotions were stirred.

Seiryū actually wanted to prove this point.

What a good child!

It even reminded her of her own days at the Ninja Academy. Back then, she had been treated as an outsider, mocked and bullied because of her red hair... At that time, she also wanted to prove herself... Seiryū, like her, was an outsider too. He must be under tremendous pressure, right?

That’s why he worked so hard!

Kushina understood his feelings and smiled warmly. ”Alright, alright. Who told me I’m your elder sister? Isn’t it natural for an older sister to spoil her little brother? I promise you, I’ll teach you Sealing Techniques first!”

Seiryū felt goosebumps rise all over his body.

But his goal was achieved, so he gave an awkward laugh. ”Ha, haha... Then thank you, Kushina-nee...”

”You’re welcome!” Kushina laughed heartily and began explaining the principles of Sealing Techniques. ”Sealing Techniques is...”

”Mhm, mhm.” As he listened, Seiryū realized that Sealing Techniques was indeed not something easy to master.

It heavily relied on talent.

If one lacked talent, even decades of study might not amount to anything. Not everything could be changed through effort alone.

It was several times harder than training a Chakra nature you weren’t attuned to.

It couldn’t be learned overnight.

It was normal to not grasp the principles right away. Unlike the Rasengan, which had a clear and specific process in the original work, the Sealing Techniques had never been fully explained.

In the story, it was just forming a hand seal, activating the seal, and sealing the enemy.

But what were the principles behind it?

Now, Seiryū had a rough understanding. Sealing Techniques weren’t just about precise Chakra control; they also required engraving sealing formulas.

And the hard part was engraving the sealing formulas.

Most of the Uzumaki Clan’s Sealing Techniques required inscribing special sealing formulas. Only by mastering that could one be said to have truly stepped into the realm of Sealing Techniques.

Sealing Techniques weren’t exclusive to the Uzumaki Clan.

In short, Sealing Techniques were difficult to learn and highly dependent on talent.

But Seiryū never doubted his talent. Even though the system itself was unreliable, the rewards it gave were extremely reliable, greatly enhancing his talent.

Just give him time to study and train, and he’d definitely master it... In the days that followed, Seiryū immersed himself in Sealing Techniques.

He had the attitude of not giving up until he succeeded.

Though it was difficult, hard work still paid off.

After a few days of training, Seiryū was already able to inscribe sealing formulas, though he still couldn’t cast Sealing Techniques smoothly.

Of course, this progress was already incredibly fast. It shocked Kushina.

He was several days faster than Minato when he first began learning Sealing Techniques.

And Kushina herself had taken more than twenty days, even under the guidance of Mito.

Today was the last day of the holiday.

Evening.

At home.

After dinner, Seiryū followed his usual routine and trained in the backyard, beginning to research Bakudō #1: Sai. Since he already understood the principles of Sealing Techniques and could inscribe sealing formulas, he naturally thought about replicating Bakudō #1: Sai.

”Bakudō #1: Sai!”

After forming a one-handed seal, Seiryū pointed at his Shadow Clone. As the sealing formula spread out, it bound the clone’s arms and legs.

The clone’s legs snapped together, and its hands were locked behind its back. After experiencing the restraint, the clone shook its head and said, ”It was cast successfully, but this is just the lowest-level Bakudō. The restraint isn’t strong. With a burst of Chakra, I can break free...”

As he spoke, Chakra surged through the clone’s body to its limbs. With a forceful push, it broke free from the binding of Bakudō #1: Sai.

”As long as it can be replicated, that’s enough.”

Seiryū said, dispersing the clone. As the memories and sensations returned to him, he stroked his chin in thought. ”It really isn’t very strong. Anyone with Genin-level Chakra could break free…”

Although he couldn’t yet cast the Uzumaki Clan’s Sealing Techniques smoothly, Bakudō #1: Sai was usable.

Because Seiryū knew its casting method and underlying principles, he could use it smoothly under the right conditions.

Even if the restraint from Bakudō #1: Sai wasn’t strong, it was still good news for Seiryū.

At the very least, it proved that Bakudō could be replicated in this world, and the shared foundation was Sealing Techniques. His hypothesis had been correct.

It wasn’t entirely useless. If the enemy was caught off guard by Bakudō #1: Sai and bound instantly, it would create an opening.

It was a good move for ambushes!

”Bakudō can be replicated. That’s one concern resolved...”

”Next, I should study the incantation for Shakkahō. I also want to be a fashionable poet, a part-time poet!”

Seiryū didn’t stop his research and began to study another Kidō he had recently obtained.

Previously, after successfully mastering the Rasengan, the system had suddenly chimed.

[Ding! The Host has successfully developed a new Kidō through your own efforts. Truly worthy of being the future Soul King destined to govern the Three Realms! Your talent is unmatched. Please continue working hard to become the Venerable Soul King and bring peace to all beings in the Three Realms!

Reward: Hadō #31: Shakkahō!]

Back then, Seiryū was momentarily confused after hearing the system’s notification.

That dumb system didn’t just give tasks. It actually had direct reward functions?

It was a pleasant surprise. Seiryū had found another way to get rewards.

He just had some questions. He had also developed Monster Strength Fist—so why didn’t the system reward him for that?

The system had intelligence, but not much. It was basically artificially dumb.

When questioned, the system couldn’t explain itself. If pressed again, it would say, ”This system has no errors.” Push further, and it would just go silent...

Although Seiryū had his doubts, he didn’t care much. The system’s unreliability wasn’t a new issue. There was no point in getting worked up over it.

As long as it provided benefits, that was enough!

Speaking of Hadō #31: Shakkahō, it was considered a mid-level Hadō, and its power was pretty decent. In this world, it should be about the same level as the Great Fireball Technique?

They had similar effects.

Of course, whether it was Ninjutsu or Kidō, their actual power depended on the caster’s individual performance.

Since Seiryū had already mastered all five basic Chakra nature transformations—Wind, Earth, Lightning, Fire, and Water—replicating Shakkahō wasn’t difficult.

He had tested it and found that its effect was similar to the Great Fireball.

However... a problem had come up.

This time, the Shakkahō rewarded by the system came with an incantation!
