Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

”Huh? Playing a trick on you?”

Seiryū was stunned, tilting his head in confusion, completely at a loss. ”Tsunade-sama, what do you mean by that?”

How did he play a trick on her?

He didn’t even have time to cling to her, so how could he possibly play a trick on her?

That was simply ridiculous.

”What do you think I mean?”

Tsunade was so angry she laughed. This brat was still pretending to be clueless?

Her beautiful eyes narrowed, the chill in her gaze still present. ”This thing... have you eaten this bowl of noodles yourself?”

Tsunade could swear she had never eaten ramen with such a strange taste in her entire life.

It was practically no different from drinking medicinal soup, and definitely not something 99.9% of people would enjoy.

”…”

Minato, Kushina, and Shizune all exchanged glances.

Judging by Tsunade’s tone, that bowl of noodles... was awful?

Well, it had a soldier pill added, so it would be strange if it tasted good.

But Seiryū... why did he say it was delicious?

They were confused.

Could he really be pulling a prank?

Minato and Kushina both felt that, considering Seiryū’s personality, it was a possibility. This kid could be unreliable at times.

Seiryū looked even more puzzled. His tone was very serious. ”Of course I’ve eaten it. Otherwise, how would I know it tastes good? Tsunade-sama, do you think it doesn’t taste good?”

This was something Kurenai had carefully made, and he genuinely thought it was delicious.

Good things should be shared, so he brought it for Minato and Kushina to try, hoping Minato could recover faster.

”You really ate it?”

Tsunade frowned slightly, judging based on her experience.

This kid’s tone was serious and sincere, not like he was lying.

If he really could lie that well, he’d have to be a master at it, and could such a little brat really have that ability?

Seiryū naturally nodded. ”Mm.”

He was an honest person and didn’t lie.

Tsunade stared at Seiryū carefully. She couldn’t find any flaws, then smiled and handed the chopsticks and ramen back to him with a bright smile. ”Alright then, try another bite.”

She wanted to see how long he could keep pretending.

One bite would expose him, because that taste... was truly indescribable.

”Uh...”

Looking at the chopsticks and ramen being handed over, Seiryū felt something was off. Tsunade had eaten this. If he ate it too, wouldn’t that count as an indirect kiss?

So Seiryū hesitated. ”Isn’t this a bit much?”

”What? Didn’t you say it was delicious? Are you trying to change your tune now? Hehe, too late.”

Tsunade’s gaze became even more dangerous, and she said with a fake smile, ”Eat it now. If you even frown, you’re done for today.”

This brat was pulling tricks on her.

If he dared to frown, she would knock a dozen big lumps on his head.

”It really is delicious. I’m not lying.”

Seiryū felt wronged. He was sharing good food, but ended up being suspected. He suddenly felt that being a good person was difficult. ”Maybe Tsunade-sama, like Kurenai, just isn’t used to the taste...”

But Seiryū also understood that everyone’s tastes were different. Kurenai also didn’t find it to her liking.

Seiryū also had foods he didn’t like.

He couldn’t eat spicy food.

In his previous life, he couldn’t enjoy spice at all. Even a mild level of spice was too much for him.

Tsunade was growing impatient. Her gaze became increasingly cold. ”What nonsense are you saying?”

This kid couldn’t keep up the act anymore, could he?

Then prepare to suffer.

She directly picked up the chopsticks, grabbed some noodles, and brought them to Seiryū’s mouth, speaking coldly. ”Eat it right now. If it’s so delicious, then eat more.”

”I’ll eat it, but why are you forcing me?”

Seiryū looked at the noodles in front of him. He couldn’t refuse now. Since she was forcing him, what else could he do?

Being fed by Tsunade, using chopsticks she had used, made Seiryū’s mood feel a little complicated... but he still slurped the noodles into his mouth. After chewing a few times, although the noodles were a bit clumpy and the texture was slightly off, the taste was still just like the one he had at home. Seiryū commented, ”Hmm, it’s a bit clumpy, but the taste is still pretty good. As expected, Tsunade-sama, like Kurenai, isn’t used to it.”

Tsunade had been staring at Seiryū the whole time and hadn’t missed a single expression, yet she couldn’t detect any major changes on his face. She went silent. ”...”

Was this kid just enduring it, or did he actually think it tasted good?

She couldn’t tell.

Tsunade looked at the noodles in the bento box, then back at Seiryū, finding it incredibly unbelievable. ”You really think this tastes good?”

Seiryū nodded seriously. ”It’s delicious. It’s a bit bitter at first, but then it has a sweet aftertaste. While it’s not as addictive as bacon and eggs with seafood sauce and salad dressing, it definitely isn’t bad. Everyone has different tastes, and I understand that.”

”…”

Everyone fell silent.

Bacon and eggs with seafood sauce and salad dressing... was all the food in his house that bizarre?

Or had they fallen behind the times?

”You’re sick.” Tsunade raised her eyebrows, suddenly realizing something. She crossed her arms under her chest and sighed. ”And it’s a serious illness.”

This was definitely not normal.

A normal person couldn’t possibly eat ramen that tasted like this, and that ”bacon and eggs with seafood sauce and salad dressing” just sounded like something to complain about.

She suspected Seiryū was ill, and that his sense of taste was different from ordinary people.

That was her judgment as a Medical-nin.

Kushina was stunned. ”Tsunade-nee, are you saying Seiryū is...”

Minato was also puzzled. ”Even though Seiryū... uh, has unique tastes, it shouldn’t be an illness, right?”

Tsunade shook her head. ”Hard to say. This is a bit abnormal.”

Seiryū’s mouth twitched. ”...”

Great, here we go again.

He was perfectly fine. What illness could he possibly have?

Is there no cost to spreading rumors in this world?

He shrugged helplessly and sighed. ”Tsunade-sama, although I know you’re Konoha’s strongest Medical-nin, you can’t just say whatever you want. How could I be sick?”

”Stop talking.” Tsunade waved him over. ”Come here. Let me take a look.”

”Oh.” Seiryū walked over casually.

He didn’t believe he was sick at all, so he had nothing to fear.

Standing in front of Tsunade, due to the height difference, all Seiryū could see... needed no further explanation.

”Open your mouth.”

”Ah.”

”It’s not a tongue issue... Sit down. I’ll check you.”

Tsunade was extremely professional. After determining it wasn’t a problem with his tongue, she had Seiryū sit down. Her hand glowed with pale green Chakra as she began to examine his head.

Her expression turned serious.

”...” Looking at Tsunade’s serious expression, Seiryū’s heart skipped a beat.

What was that saying from his previous life?

Don’t be afraid of a smiling doctor, be afraid of one who frowns while checking you.

He had to admit, at this moment, he was a bit panicked.
