System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Tan Zhongyuan extended his hand: ”Go ahead!”

Lu Cheng replied: ”Director Tan, to be frank, my Tendon Suturing Technique comes from the advanced training course in hand surgery at Union Hospital!”

”Therefore, I might have to apologize to you; I plan to move this project to collaborate with a teacher at Union Hospital.”

”Of course, I know Teacher Tong Yuan’an has been preparing for this for a long time, so I will double the return.”

”I hope Director Tan can agree!”

”Nerve and vascular suturing techniques are also quite a core competitive path in hand surgery.”

Zhou Yuhui didn’t refuse as he saw Lu Cheng quickly carried out the internal distribution: ”Then what about your splenic suturing technique?”

Tong Yuan’an smiled and said: ”That’s definitely reserved for Chen Song.”

Zhou Yuhui glanced at Tong Yuan’an, his eyes filled with frustration.

Tong Yuan’an lowered his head and didn’t say anything further about transferring.

Zhou Yuhui didn’t know Chen Song nor did he care about him, but he was good friends with him. Even though Zhou Yuhui was his mentor, he wouldn’t stab Chen Song in the back.

Lu Cheng quickly added with a smile: ”The splenic suturing technique was explored together with Professor Chen Song at Xiangya Second Hospital, which isn’t much related to hand surgery. It’s my mainstay for a living in the future.”

”That’s fine, Professor Zhou, what do you think?” Tan Zhongyuan looked at Zhou Yuhui.

Among the three units related to Lu Cheng, Xiangya Hospital had already taken the largest share.

It’s impossible to hold all four projects, and Lu Cheng can’t manage it all.

The core development directions of hand surgery are nerve and vascular.

Zhou Yuhui didn’t deny it, but still thoughtfully asked a question: ”I’d like to hear Lu Cheng’s deeper thoughts on why you made this choice?”

Lu Cheng glanced at the old Professor Zhou Yuhui, and calmly said: ”Teacher Zhou, to put it bluntly, it’s like a sly rabbit having three burrows.”

”To give myself more options for retreat!”

”To put it formally, I hope to promote these techniques from multiple fronts, so they can be applied clinically as soon as possible, truly benefiting patients.”

”Is that all?” Zhou Yuhui asked.

Lu Cheng knew the answer that Zhou Yuhui wanted, so he just said it indifferently: ”From my personal perspective, it’s the same old saying, revenge is best served swiftly.”

Tong Yuan’an nudged Lu Cheng.

Lu Cheng nonchalantly replied: ”Teacher Tong, there’s nothing bad about saying it. I haven’t used any underhanded means.”

”I’ve always hoped to have some teachers who can guide me in formal learning, and I will continue to hope for that in the future.”

”Everyone’s growth requires learning.”

”However, due to various circumstances, not everyone’s learning path is smooth, this is a known fact.”

”I’m not a high-minded person; my approach is, whoever treats me well, I will treat them better.”

”If someone wants to make a fool out of me, I won’t remain silent either.”

”If someone treats me like a puppet, I hope to become the player. Even if I can’t play the opponent, I can at least annoy them somewhat.”

”Anyway, no matter how bad it gets, I’m already in a relatively bad situation now, it shouldn’t get worse.”

Tan Zhongyuan immediately responded: ”Dr. Lu, we’ve always been sincere with you.”

Lu Cheng nodded: ”Director Tan, it’s all about sincerity; different perspectives, different performances, the reality of sincerity.”

”I believe if Professor Zhong Junyun had known at the time that I also developed the splenic parenchymal organ suturing technique, he might have been relatively more tactful.”

”But he was very busy, his entire focus was on the nerve suturing technique in hand surgery.” Lu Cheng’s tone was casual.

He looked open-minded.

The world hustles and bustles all for the sake of benefit.

Be it Xiangya Hospital or Xiangya Second Hospital or Huashan Hospital or Union Hospital, no one is more noble than the other; each has its own internal operational rules.

It’s just that there’s more human sentiment in Xiangya.

If positions were swapped, and if Lu Cheng were to rush to Huashan Hospital now, it would certainly be different from years ago.

Even though Lu Cheng is now only an undergraduate.

Tan Zhongyuan certainly understood Lu Cheng’s sarcastic tone, Lu Cheng meant that when he was in Long County, he hadn’t seen Tong Yuan’an express any opinion.

After the competition ended, Tan Zhongyuan started maneuvering, using his connections to pass on ”inside news” to Lu Cheng.

This matter is neither shady nor entirely upfront.

Essentially, the rule of the world is still that the strong prevail; as long as your ability is strong and transcendent enough, it’s easier to navigate.

Otherwise, if you’re only somewhat strong, you’re just a toy to the rules.

The ’Cyan Cloud Ladder’ mentioned by Tan Zhongyuan exists in many universities, and there’s precedent where if you’re strong enough, you can be promoted to a professor while still an undergraduate, before graduation.

The current performance of Lu Cheng seemed unfamiliar to Tong Yuan’an but felt as it should be to Tan Zhongyuan.

”Dr. Lu, I hope we can have a pleasant cooperation and a win-win situation in the future.” Tan Zhongyuan didn’t crown himself with anything, just described the current situation as a transaction.

Xiangya Hospital needs these techniques to enhance its overall strength; Lu Cheng needs this project to boost his research capability and provide tangible support for his overall strength.

One’s ability, especially in medical technology, is hard to assess objectively.

But with articles on original techniques, listed in one’s resume, it’s different.

Just like Professor Chen Zhongwei’s limb reimplantation, or the liver preservation surgery by the late Professor Wu Mengchao, or Professor Tang Jinbo’s Tang suturing method, these are techniques labeled as representative.
