System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

But the hand surgery department is also aware of the originality of this skill. The reason why Tan Zhongyuan and others value Lu Cheng is that they hope Lu Cheng can make contributions in other areas of hand surgery in the future.

For example, in the fields of vascular suturing and nerve suturing, where no standard suturing technique has been established, they hope he can set his own benchmark, leaving the names of Lu Cheng and Xiangya Hospital behind, achieving a breakthrough, and standing at the pinnacle of hand surgery in the nation, and even the world.

”Hmm, I know, Teacher Tong.” Lu Cheng replied calmly.

This time, Lu Cheng was not reacting passively, nor was he passively joining the game; he was determined to cause a stir.

Even if he couldn’t personally attend the competition, Lu Cheng was still going to make a mark.

There’s no such thing as cheating in the competition. As long as the referees don’t manipulate clinical operations, no matter how much teaching is involved, it’s not considered cheating.

”Vascular suturing technique? Nerve suturing technique?”

”Is this not a joke?” Tong Yuan’an continued to ask.

”It’s not!” Lu Cheng replied.

”You start suturing! ~ I’ll make the call.” Tong Yuan’an immediately stopped his work.

This matter was too significant, and Lu Cheng’s quality in vascular suturing was adequate given that he had won a prize in the provincial competition. It wouldn’t fall short of the standard quality.

”Alright!” Lu Cheng nodded.

Tong Yuan’an indeed went to make the call, and this time he not only called his teacher, Zhou Yuhui, but also contacted Tan Zhongyuan and Liao Fan.

October 28th was Wednesday, October 29th was Thursday, both were workdays.

In theory, the professors at Xiangya Hospital had formal work arrangements, either performing surgeries or attending clinics.

However, the gravity of the situation was such that after receiving the call from Professor Tong Yuan’an, Tan Zhongyuan angrily rebuked: ”Tong Yuan’an, you’re no longer a child. You better be responsible for what you say.”

”When we call the hospital to request leave, cancel clinics, and surgeries, we must have justified reasons.”

Tong Yuan’an said, ”Director Tan, I mean, whoever is available tomorrow should come.”

”I asked Lu Cheng five times, and he replied affirmatively each time.”

”He said yes.”

Tan Zhongyuan thought seriously for a moment, with the sound of his intense breathing breaking the silence as he tried to maintain composure: ”Professor Zhou and I will come, but Liao Fan can be excused.”

”We’ll come right away.”

”I think so too,” Tong Yuan’an replied.

”What does Lu Cheng think?”

”He doesn’t have much of a plan. He said he just doesn’t want those he doesn’t think deserve the award to win. That’s all.”

Unlike Tong Yuan’an, Tan Zhongyuan wasn’t as patient and certainly not introverted: ”Screw it.”

...

The next day, October 29th, the weather was cloudy turning partly cloudy.

In the cyclical year of Gui Mao in the lunar calendar, on the fifteenth day of the ninth lunar month, it was a good day for weddings, travel, cleaning, moving, signing contracts, transactions, moving into new homes, and attracting wealth!

Fortunately, the small Training Room built in Tong Yuan’an’s dormitory wasn’t dismantled yet. Many of the instruments were not only kept but more items were moved in.

At eleven o’clock last night, Tong Yuan’an personally contacted the ’supplier’ in Sha City to have them directly ship the goods to Long County, Xiang Province.

The order volume was large, amounting to hundreds of thousands, so the sales personnel set off overnight without hesitation, arriving in Long County before even Professor Tan Zhongyuan and Professor Zhou Yuhui, and began setting up the Training Room overnight.

When Tong Yuan’an and Lu Cheng returned, the room was mostly set up.

”Professor Tong, please check if there’s anything else that needs changing. This time, our supplies are very ample. There’s more than enough for what you need,” the sales representative from the biotech company smiled warmly.

They knew that once such a project started, it wouldn’t just be a deal worth tens of thousands; it could be worth over a million.

”Hmm, it doesn’t matter if we have extra. Let’s keep it as is for now, and you guys should rest first.” Tong Yuan’an nodded, beginning to see them off.

”Then you stay busy, Professor Tong.”

”May I also add you on WeChat? If you need any materials in the future, just let us know. We manage deliveries across the province, and out of province, we can arrange people too.”

”The prices are definitely negotiable.” The sales representative maintained professionalism, preferring to err on the side of negotiation rather than missing an opportunity.

Tong Yuan’an said, ”This is Dr. Lu Cheng. You should offer an even lower price, lower than what you offer me.”

”Everything is negotiable, everything is negotiable. Teacher Tong, the price we quoted you is also subject to negotiation if you order in large quantities,” the sales personnel’s keen awareness was sharp.

Tong Yuan’an was planning something big, implying that it might be a multi-million order.

He is a realistic salesperson, not an online one, and he wouldn’t dismiss a multi-million order from a project group.

This was a deity of wealth.

”You can leave now; we need to get to work,” Tong Yuan’an formally started to dismiss them.

Lu Cheng, meanwhile, said, ”Teacher Tong, I’ll start operating. Once I near the end, please have Professors Tan and Zhou come to verify the data.”

”They’ve been traveling all night, let them rest for a bit.”

”Are you tired?” Tong Yuan’an asked Lu Cheng, ”We’re not in a rush at this moment.”

Lu Cheng replied, ”I am a bit tired, but I’m worried that if I fall asleep now, I’ll oversleep.”

”It’s just a demonstration, no need to do a lot of data sets. It’s less than an hour’s work.”

”Teacher Tong, let me explain. I plan to perform vascular suturing across three and four sections, and nerve suturing across two and three sections.”

”I’ll finish and leave. If the data doesn’t pass, then let Professor Tan and the others go. I’ll personally call and apologize once I wake up.”

”If it’s okay, can I have a good sleep?”
