System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Han City, Mu Nanshu’s home.

Xie Yuan’an knocked on the room door, Mu Nanshu was mixing cold noodles for himself, wearing an apron, and came out from the kitchen to open the door.

”Sister Xie, don’t you need to go home now? It’s so late, and you’re still here. Isn’t Professor Xie looking for you?” Mu Nanshu asked.

Xie Yuan’an put on slippers: ”My dad wishes I could get married tomorrow; he doesn’t care about me now.”

”Is this all you’re eating tonight?” Xie Yuan’an saw Mu Nanshu eating simple cold noodles and felt a bit guilty.

”I brought this pickled chili from Long County, the taste is really good,” Mu Nanshu said.

”Do you want to try it?”

”Is this that Xiang famous pickle you brought me last time? It’s so spicy.” Xie Yuan’an leaned close to smell, recognizing the chili scent.

”Yes, it’s amazing with cold noodles, and Han City’s hot dry noodles have more texture than our cold noodles, they pair even better.”

”Just wait a bit, I’ll scoop you a bowl too.” Mu Nanshu’s expression was relaxed and natural, showing no displeasure towards Xie Yuan’an.

Xie Yuan’an is Xie Yuan’an, Xie Xiao is Xie Xiao, Professor Zhong Junyun is Professor Zhong Junyun.

No matter how you say it, when Xie Yuan’an ’watched the drama’ back then, it brought Lu Cheng into the advanced seminar, leading to Lu Cheng’s growth.

Five minutes later, the two sat around the dining table, each holding a pad to watch dramas.

Xie Yuan’an already had dinner, so she wasn’t hungry, she ate a few bites and lost her appetite, but Mu Nanshu continued eating, chili burning his tongue as he ate fiercely.

”Xiao Mumu, is your fiery temperament cultivated by the chili from your place?”

”I just casually said something, and you directly went to Professor Zhong to confront him?” Xie Yuan’an asked with a hint of meaning.

Mu Nanshu said: ”When there’s a problem, you solve it. I was just asking Professor Zhong some basic questions, nothing more.”

”So spicy, so spicy, the chili was too much, the owner used chili sauce made from Chao Tian jiao peppers, I need to order milk tea.” Mu Nanshu fanned his tongue with his palm.

Xie Yuan’an only ate a few small bites, so she didn’t feel it as strongly as Mu Nanshu.

With a nuanced tone: ”You call this just stating basic conditions?”

”Did you forget what you told Boss Zhong?”

Mu Nanshu said: ”What I said isn’t just the truth?”

”Xiao Xie, I’m not afraid to tell you, don’t just focus on Lu Cheng wanting to do the tendon suturing topic; his development in general surgery is definitely far better than staying in hand surgery!”

Mu Nanshu then handed the phone to Xie Yuan’an: ”I’m ordering again, see what you want to add, hurry and order.”

Xie Yuan’an holding Mu Nanshu’s phone, wasn’t interested in looking at milk tea, just ordered an add-one: ”Xiao Mumu, what do you mean?”

”What does Lu Cheng have to do with general surgery? Isn’t he a hand surgery doctor?”

Xie Yuan’an recalled Lu Cheng’s previous response.

Why are you learning suturing skills?

”To compete”!

Xie Yuan’an’s heart nearly collapsed.

”No, he’s currently an emergency doctor, doing more general surgeries like appendicitis, spleen removals, etc.,” Mu Nanshu said.

”Are the majority of his surgeries really general surgeries? So what about him?”

”Finger replantation?” Xie Yuan’an felt a bit desperate inside.

Mu Nanshu felt he had laid enough groundwork for Xie Yuan’an: ”I told you before, his clinical talent is quite good.”

”Otherwise, how could I guide him to find a PhD mentor to win favor? How would that teacher agree?”

”Be more specific,” Xie Yuan’an retraced the past.

”You only told me you visited Huashan Hospital’s orthopedic professor, but not how it happened.”

Mu Nanshu thought for a moment, then said: ”It was Professor Su from Huashan Hospital’s Trauma Department; he gave me an assessment standard, I didn’t tell Lu Cheng, just had him practice in that direction.”

”Later I showed Professor Su the operation video, and he thought it was acceptable.”

”The education secretary from orthopedics also thought Lu Cheng’s first degree and initial test scores were good enough, so it went like this...”

Xie Yuan’an nodded: ”Later, that Professor Su unexpectedly died due to work a bit before the master’s retest, so the feedback and promise he gave you became invalid, right?”

Mu Nanshu continued eating a couple of bites of cold noodles, then went to get a cup of ice water: ”Of course, every teacher has their own preferences in admissions, some favor clinical practice, some favor research.”

”It’s all individual choices.”

Xie Yuan’an sighed: ”When people leave, the tea gets cold, monkeys disperse when trees fall. The more fair the place, the colder it gets, the more fixed the circle.”

”Sigh...”

”So what do you mean? Lu Cheng is now going to develop towards the general surgery direction?”

Mu Nanshu shook his head: ”Not really, he has his own ideas, I just happened to know that he has this skill.”

”With these two clinical projects, they can bring him a lot of benefits.”

”The early preparations are done, now only the project operation remains.”

Xie Yuan’an thought for a long time, then asked: ”What two projects?”

Mu Nanshu returned to the dining table and slowly sat down: ”Well, one project is the hand surgery tendon suturing project, the other is the spleen suturing project, which is a branch of spleen preservation surgery.”

Xie Yuan’an is in hand surgery, she has a good understanding of what Mu Nanshu meant by spleen suturing.

Before limb replantation surgery existed, limb surgeries were ’suturing skills’, at least initially named as such, then later redefined as ’limb replantation’!
