System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Director Xiang, I can’t make the call to Zhang Boyuan now, and I’m not in Sha City either.” In Xiangzhou, Ji City, in a certain neighborhood, Chen Song replied to Director Xiang Dongshan, his tone aloof.

”Chen Song, what are you thinking right now? You’re even bringing this attitude with me!” Xiang Dapao was true to his name, his voice very loud and resonant.

”Director Xiang, it’s not that I have an attitude; it’s just that I really don’t know how to handle this.”

Chen Song suppressed his emotions: ”You tell me, this Lu Cheng, how many times have I mentioned him to you? Zhang Boyuan is from our department; you’re the director, you call him, would he dare not to answer?”

Xiang Dongshan said, ”Isn’t it because your relationship with Zhang Boyuan is closer? It’s not that I haven’t called him, but he’s really not budging.”

”And let me say, Chen Song, when you took leave before, you didn’t explain the details. If I had known it was this kind of situation earlier, would I not have yielded?”

Chen Song said, ”Director Xiang, I knew it when it was already too late.”

”Making promises now is just icing on the cake, not sending help in snow.”

”Lu Cheng returned from Union Hospital with his girlfriend; no one in our hospital can pull this off.”

”And what’s the point of talking about anything else?” Chen Song’s words carried a personal emotion.

I, Chen Song, just don’t have the personnel authority, otherwise, there would be no such thing as Union Hospital.

Around Teacher’s Day, before Lu Cheng went to Union Hospital, Chen Song made several calls to seek instructions.

”When I say it’s useful, then naturally it is useful,” said Xiang Dongshan.

”You repeatedly say you like Lu Cheng and hope to have him by your side, and now that there’s a chance, Lu Cheng also has this need, but you’re hesitating?”

”What kind of reasoning is that?”

”Isn’t this you getting angry with me?”

Chen Song listened and remained silent for a long while before saying, ”Director Xiang, what do you mean by this?”

”If we really want to talk about this matter, we have to start from when Lu Cheng was studying at Han City University Zhongnan Hospital.”

”Didn’t Liang Yuanqiu go to Zhongnan Hospital to work?”

Top teaching hospitals have a mix of personnel and academic qualifications, with staff of each hospital, even each department, having diverse backgrounds.

The Liang Yuanqiu mentioned by Xiang Dongshan was a Ph.D. graduate from Xiangya Second Hospital, unable to stay at the hospital but went to Han City University Zhongnan Hospital, a reasonable outcome.

After listening to what Xiang Dongshan said, Chen Song’s expression suddenly tightened.

At this moment, he recalled the many times Lu Cheng chose not to speak when he lost his temper with him.

At this moment, Chen Song finally understood that Lu Cheng wasn’t as ”shiny and bright” as he appeared, and Professor Zhong at Union Hospital perfectly embodied the concepts of ’advance and retreat’, ’sit-ups’.

”Professor Xiang, is the information reliable?” Chen Song cautiously asked after pondering.

”I tell you, this information is reliable.”

”They’ve only made oral agreements, without any paper documents for now.” Xiang Dongshan swallowed:

”The next lead figure they’re promoting in Union Hospital’s hand surgery is settled, unlikely to change now.”

”But what they don’t know yet is that Lu Cheng also has a deep knowledge of organ suturing in general surgery.”

”This information gap, we must seize it quickly and promptly, or else, after today and tomorrow, maybe even tonight, there could be changes.”

”No other reason, based on what you said, I’m afraid Lu Cheng’s little girlfriend might use this to negotiate with Union Hospital’s general surgery.”

”Once they’ve crossed over from hand surgery, it’ll be troublesome.”

”The current situation is that Lu Cheng is once again in a ’advance and retreat’ state, yet we know he’s extremely outstanding, his potential is immense.”

”Thus, we must seize this timing to arrange suitable platforms and teams for him early.”

”Chen Song, you didn’t do a good enough job on this; you shouldn’t have kept this from me.”

Chen Song said, ”Director Xiang, I don’t have the personnel authority; the suggestions I reported to you were mostly rejected, and you were not in Long County.”

”What I told you was just hearsay, I kept saying, you wouldn’t think I was ’bothering you’?”

Chen Song, an adult and someone with some status, even often hears people recommending ’excellent students’ to him!

Applying the principle of treating others as you’d like to be treated, put oneself in others’ shoes.

Xiang Dongshan receives recommendations of ”outstanding students” every year, dozens for studying or finding employment.

And there are not a few who have a more prominent status.

”Furthermore, even if I knew, I was also in an irresolvable situation because Lu Cheng never explicitly said, we never knew his experience in Union Hospital.”

”It was only from you that I learned about the little episode between Professor Zhong and Lu Cheng.”

”If Lu Cheng’s girlfriend, Xiao Mu, really went to negotiate terms with Union Hospital’s general surgery, I actually think that’s what Lu Cheng deserves.”

”He deserves to have a very professional person strategize for him.”

Xiang Dongshan asked, ”This Dr. Mu you’re talking about, what’s her relationship with Lu Cheng exactly?”

Chen Song said, ”Childhood sweethearts, innocent playmates. They have decades of emotional bond.”

”Director Xiang, I must remind you of one thing, even if we gain many advantages, if we can’t properly settle Dr. Mu, it’s all in vain.”

”Let’s see Lu Cheng first!” Xiang Dongshan understood human nature and worldly affairs better than Chen Song.
