System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Intentions are one thing, personal relationships are another; they should be considered separately.”

”The competition on my end is basically confirmed, once I get the certificates tomorrow, I can head home and start working seriously.”

”This high-level decision-making is still far off for me; what I need to prepare for is the selection exam within the State.”

Lu Cheng hasn’t even sent his last message yet!

On Lu Cheng’s WeChat, Zhang Tiesheng’s message pops up, the message box drops down.

Lu Cheng only catches a few keywords.

”The inspection team has arrived in Xiangzhou, Dean Peng has turned himself in voluntarily...”

As soon as Lu Cheng reads this, he is completely stunned!

The news of the inspection team’s arrival in Xiang Province was something Lu Cheng had joked about with Mu Nanshu earlier, but he never thought they’d come to Long County.

Moreover, Dean Peng voluntarily turned himself in? Why? Has he gone crazy?

Lu Cheng hurriedly sent the edited message to Mu Nanshu.

Then he opened Zhang Tiesheng’s long message.

”Lu Cheng, things have gone sideways, you might need to come back soon. According to insider information, the inspection team came to our Xiangzhou after the National Day; Dean Peng turned himself in on the fifteenth, but the team has been secretly investigating... Just now, Director Lin and Director Peng have been called in for questioning...”

Lu Cheng: ”???”

Lu Cheng remembered that Zhang Tiesheng seemed to have hinted before that the leadership in Xiangzhou was a bit unstable lately.

But Lu Cheng hadn’t thought the inspection team would come down to Xiangzhou.

”It’s true, our hospital is definitely going to be unstable for some time.”

”I suggest you come back early to avoid someone using the situation to create trouble.”

”Anyway, Director Zhu from the pathology department has already been subjected to dual investigations; it was just this Friday night.”

”Currently, I don’t know how far the investigation will go.” Zhang Tiesheng is also a bit confused.

Lu Cheng covered his phone, closed his eyes, his mind somewhat in turmoil.

After thinking it over, Lu Cheng felt it was inconsequential; he didn’t have any financial issues, and kickbacks in the department never ended up with him, just a minor attending physician.

After the implementation of the bulk purchasing policy in the first half of this year, there haven’t been any kickbacks, and everyone lives on surgical fees.

Lu Cheng thought for a while, then replied, ”Brother Zhang, I can only return tomorrow, it’s too late tonight.”

”Besides, if I don’t attend the award ceremony after winning, it would be inappropriate.”

Now it was Zhang Tiesheng’s turn to be shocked: ”???”

”You won an award? What award did you win?”

”Should be first prize,” Lu Cheng replied.

Winning first prize but not attending the ceremony, whose face is he trying to slap? The organizer’s face?

Zhang Tiesheng hadn’t thought Lu Cheng would win an award, so he hurried him to return.

If you didn’t win, you just don’t compete; no one would care if a minor player is absent from the field.

”Holy... You won first prize? Is that even possible? Man.”

”I didn’t read much, don’t fool me.” Zhang Tiesheng sends a voice message, his voice shockingly trembling.

An emergency department doctor from Long County People’s Hospital participating in Xiang Province’s micro skills youth physician competition and winning first place?

What a fantastically ludicrous headline!

The headline itself he couldn’t believe, let alone the actual details?

”Based on the current situation, yes.”

”Brother Zhang, I don’t have any shifts to cover. Please kindly ask you and Brother Zeng to cover for me.” Lu Cheng said.

Lu Cheng checked his schedule, he wasn’t on duty these days.

Moreover, participating in a province-wide micro skills competition is a very legitimate learning and exchange project; anyone trying to say this was wrong would be intentionally causing trouble.

”Well alright, you go get your award first.”

”Holy... You’re really going to the awards ceremony? I need to see the certificate. Don’t forge the seal, that’s illegal, my friend.” Zhang Tiesheng’s voice was fragmented and chaotic.

What’s logic again?
