System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Mu Nanshu didn’t want to dwell on this topic, so he asked, ”What do you really think? Are you planning to go into hand surgery or emergency medicine in the future?”

Lu Cheng’s right hand tightened slightly around Mu Nanshu’s hand, his voice soft, ”Book Bag, I’ll definitely be in the emergency department, but my skills can be applied to other specialties as well.”

”If you’re willing to help me, and you’re sure it will be beneficial, I can definitely keep you helping me and make it beneficial for you too.”

”At this point, I’ve accumulated a bit, as you’ve seen. Allow me to sell you on my future.”

”Hmm, it’s a bit far from here to the hotel. Let’s drop off our luggage first, then get a cup of coffee, and I’ll take you to see the results board.”

”To be honest, if I can’t share my good results with you, the fun is basically cut in half.”

”Don’t you think that once you’ve succeeded, watching others compete for results becomes quite interesting? You just love to watch.”

”It’s just like getting a driver’s license.”

Mu Nanshu immediately thought Lu Cheng had a bit of a mischievous streak. And this mischief really resonated with the general public.

How many people, after passing their driving test, don’t love watching others take it???

There are even some with a slightly twisted mentality who, after passing, deliberately go online to watch the live study sessions of their ’junior brothers and sisters.’

No other reason, just passed, enjoy watching, love watching.

This includes but is not limited to post-graduate exams, doctoral exams, university entrance exams, civil service exams, etc.

...

Lu Cheng did as he said.

He and Mu Nanshu ordered two iced coffees at the hotel and then confidently held hands as they went up to the competition floor, strolling from one competition venue to another.

On the display screens, for fairness, Lu Cheng’s results and name were prominently displayed on both tracks.

Tendon Suture Venue: [049 Lu Cheng: 2mm Gap Tensile Strength: 40 points. Breakage Tensile Strength: 40 points. Tendon Toughness: 20 points. Total: 100 points.]

Spleen Suture Venue: [142 Lu Cheng: 117 points.]

At the spleen suture venue, Lu Cheng and Mu Nanshu stood at the very front of the spectator area, with Lu Cheng explaining the competition rules to Mu Nanshu: ”I was pretty lucky; didn’t you buy me a lot of pig spleens before?”

”It just so happens that this competition also uses real pig spleens, with a total of six spleens at different levels of damage...”

Lu Cheng put on his contestant badge, even though it didn’t have his name on it.

But Lu Cheng’s results were so impressive that the other participants at the venue couldn’t help but investigate Lu Cheng.

They must have seen his photos.

So, seeing Lu Cheng holding a girl’s hand and flamboyantly strolling at the front of the spectator area, it wasn’t surprising at all.

One surprise was how young Lu Cheng was, another was him winning first place and bringing along his wife or girlfriend to show off.

This behavior can be considered excessive by some, but also normal by others.

If you win first place, why shouldn’t you bring family to appreciate it?

Who made the rule against it?

At least Lu Cheng wasn’t being loud.

”Hello, Dr. Lu!~” Someone who didn’t know Lu Cheng greeted him politely after confirming his results were real.

”Hello...” Lu Cheng politely and enthusiastically responded.

”Dr. Lu, you’re amazing. Can I add you on WeChat? It’d be great to exchange ideas in the future.”

”Of course, Professor, my name is Lu Cheng. Let me scan you.” Lu Cheng generously took out his phone.

Lu Cheng didn’t feel he was doing anything inappropriate, it wasn’t like he ’cheated’ to get first place.

He did cheat a little, but if no one can find out, it’s not cheating.

If a door is closed, it doesn’t matter if it was ever open!

Finally, about twenty minutes later, a middle-aged man approached from this direction.

The man had a characteristic receding hairline and a slightly pointed head: ”Is this Dr. Lu? Hello, hello...”

”Hello, Professor.” Lu Cheng turned and corresponded politely.

”You can call me Huang Gengwen, I’m from the Spleen and Pancreas Surgery Department.” Huang Gengwen wore glasses, his mouth was quite large.

Lu Cheng carefully observed, the line of his mouth was truly wide, looking almost like a frog’s, but his face was narrow and pointed, making him quite distinctive.

”Hello, Teacher Huang, my name is Lu Cheng, Lu as in east, and Cheng as in success,” Lu Cheng said.

Lu Cheng then noticed Huang Gengwen looking at Mu Nanshu: ”This is my wife, Mu Nanshu, who’s also in the profession.”

Huang Gengwen extended a hand: ”Hello, Dr. Mu.”

”Hello, Professor Huang,” Mu Nanshu graciously shook his hand.

”Dr. Lu, congratulations, your results are truly eye-catching. I couldn’t believe it when I first heard.”

”Truly a young hero,” Huang Gengwen said half-jokingly, half in shock.

His mouth opened slightly, resembling a large mouth seemingly devoid of a bottom.

While chatting with Lu Cheng, Professor Cao Qianwei, the host on stage, was watching intently.

But being the host, he couldn’t leave his post.

”You’re flattering me, Teacher Huang. I was a bit lucky to get these results. If the competition hadn’t been spleen suturing, I couldn’t have achieved this,” Lu Cheng said modestly.

”Dr. Lu, aren’t you tempted to set any more records?” Huang Gengwen asked courteously.

”Teacher Huang, the results are set, no need to update them. I’m just waiting for the awards ceremony, which should at least guarantee me a certificate.” Tong Yuan’an told Lu Cheng about not mentioning monetary rewards, but didn’t say anything about certificates.
