System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Then, as a friend, can I ask for your help? Your resignation has quite a significant impact on me, as I am in charge of human resources now.” Zeng Long’an smiled wryly.

”The ones causing trouble are a few others who specifically picked the current moment. You need to work on their mindset.”

”Rather than talking about favor with me.” Lin Qianlong’s attitude remained very clear.

”Are you really at ease leaving the Emergency Department like this?” Zeng Long’an asked.

”You managed to develop all these dynamics with great effort.”

Lin Qianlong thought for a moment: ”When I leave, I’m at ease, after all, there’s Lu Cheng, Zhang Tiesheng, and Zeng Huanqi.”

”But whether the hospital can keep them afterwards is beyond my control.”

”Dean Zeng, I’ve already done my utmost. While I was working, I tried to persuade Lu Cheng to place the project at Long County People’s Hospital.”

”I never said he should go to E Province.”

”Otherwise, wouldn’t it be more legitimate for the Union Hospital to collaborate with Feng County People’s Hospital?”

”...”

After finishing the rounds, Lu Cheng said to Tian Zhuang, ”Tian Zhuang, sorry, because of me, your schedule got a bit messed up. Just after finishing a night shift, you have to work the day shift.”

Tian Zhuang replied, ”No problem, Brother Lu, the night shift wasn’t that busy.”

”The day shift in the ward isn’t tiring either. Once I finish switching medications and writing medical records, I’ll take a rest.”

”Brother Lu, I’ll go issue the medical orders and switch the medications first. You should rest early too; you also performed a cholecystectomy last night.”

Tian Zhuang is someone who can endure hardships; his personality is straightforward and honest.

Lu Cheng nodded and parted ways with Tian Zhuang.

Lu Cheng then went straight to the doctor’s lounge, but just as he changed his clothes and planned to go home, the door to Lin Qianlong’s office opened.

Lin Qianlong was about to leave with his bag. Seeing Lu Cheng, he changed his mind: ”Xiao Lu, come in for a moment.”

Lu Cheng, also with his bag, followed Lin Qianlong into the office.

Today, Lin Qianlong didn’t prepare tea for Lu Cheng but said, ”Xiao Lu, you must have heard about my decision to leave. It’s a personal choice; you should understand me.”

”That’s why when you mentioned going to the State People’s Hospital, I didn’t stop you.”

Lu Cheng suddenly realized: ”Thank you, Director Lin, for your generosity.”

”Pursuing your career is nothing shameful. Our hospital indeed isn’t suitable for someone like you; the platform simply isn’t enough.”

”Staying here would only waste your talent.”

”Xiao Lu, you should be close to getting promoted to associate senior, right? You should have a good talk with Zhang Tiesheng then, and try to secure some awards of excellence.”

”The associate senior evaluation uses a point system. Although you have projects, you haven’t applied for them or published papers, so you need these awards to add points.” Lin Qianlong advised.

”Thank you, Director Lin. I understand it’s a point system. Fortunately, I received a few awards this time; they should be enough for the points.”

”Let’s discuss future matters later.”

”Director Lin, are you really planning to leave?” Lu Cheng asked from the heart.

Lin Qianlong is a good director. At least since Lu Cheng’s arrival, he has treated Lu Cheng very well.

Perhaps because of Lu Cheng’s strong capabilities, but actions speak louder than words. Lin Qianlong indeed treated Lu Cheng well.

”There’s nothing awkward about it. I’m at this age, just working for money; this reason isn’t shameful.”

”Due to Director Huang, our department has almost no sneaky behavior, so our earnings compare unfavorably with colleagues and other hospital staff.”

”But also due to Director Huang, this time our Emergency Department is largely unaffected, unlike General Surgery and Orthopedics with their pathways.”

”Even if no one is penalized, the money will have to be recovered.”

”A few drug reps have already been found for testimonies!~ Xiao Lu, when you were in Orthopedics, you probably didn’t encounter these things, right?”

Lu Cheng nodded: ”Director Lin, you’re right. I’m not suited for negotiating with drug reps.”

Lin Qianlong said, ”That’s even better; there wasn’t much money involved anyway.”

”Xiao Lu, recently I’ve been quite anxious, thinking that if I leave suddenly, would the Emergency Department fall apart.”

”Luckily, I met you.”

Lu Cheng suddenly remembered something and asked, ”Director Lin, at that time, you convinced Brother Zhang and Brother Zeng to have me study with Professor Chen constantly and allowed me to independently perform appendectomy and other surgeries. Was it for this moment?”

Lin Qianlong replied, ”There’s partly that reason, but not entirely.”

”I even considered bringing you along to Feng County People’s Hospital, but later you found a better opportunity, so it wasn’t appropriate to mention it.”

”Your future development could be better.”

”As of now, most of the surgeries I can do, you can do too. But the surgeries you can do, I can’t.”

”Therefore, I can leave more comfortably, without impacting the unit’s normal operations.”

”Additionally, seeing Zhang Tiesheng now becoming eager to learn is good. He actually has good potential but previously felt there was nobody learning faster than him, so he got lazy.”

Lu Cheng understood deeply.

Some things might not immediately make sense, but everything follows a traceable path.

”Thank you, Director Lin, for your kindness, giving me such a good learning opportunity.” Lu Cheng expressed his gratitude sincerely.

”Mainly, they don’t learn as quickly as you. Our initial plan was to have you study for a while and then send you for further training. But unexpectedly, with Professor Chen still around, you mastered many techniques.”
