”Yes, yes, that’s it. When operating, pay attention to the strength of your hand, the direction of force should be delivered, not zigzag. You need a stable delivery line.”

”This line isn’t marked, but you need to develop your habitual delivery direction. Always deliver like this based on your technique level,” Liu Huanglong looked up and said to Lu Cheng.

”Okay, Teacher Liu, I got it,” Lu Cheng nodded.

Then Liu Huanglong noticed Xie Yuan’an and others gathering around: ”Why are you all here? Practice on your own, what are you watching us for?”

Xie Yuan’an’s mouth twitched slightly: ”Teacher Liu, it’s 12:19, time for lunch.”

”Professor Xie has called twice reminding you to finish class, I didn’t interrupt as you’ve kept teaching.”

Bro, come on, look at the time, class was supposed to end at 11:30, you’ve overrun by forty-five minutes.

”Is it already past twelve?” Liu Huanglong raised his left hand to look at his watch and naturally stood up: ”Okay, pack up and let’s go eat.”

After getting up, Liu Huanglong remembered Dong Qiaoshan: ”Xiao Dong, how’s your practice?”

Dong Qiaoshan’s square face was now fox-like: ”Teacher Liu, thanks to your guidance and care, I’ve made some progress. With more practice, I should be able to improve my nerve suturing.”

Liu Huanglong earnestly said: ”Mastering a skill requires persistent practice, the more you practice, the better you get. Teacher’s guidance only opens the door, cultivation is up to you.”

”Yes, yes, Teacher Liu, you’re right,” Dong Qiaoshan nodded repeatedly. If it weren’t for fear of sounding sarcastic, he would have just said yes indeed.

But facing Liu Huanglong, he didn’t dare to speak that way.

Liu Huanglong was thirty-nine years old, already a chief physician, a professor, and promoted two years ago, a prominent figure in the academia with an ’academician’ as his strong backing at home.

Moreover, in recent years Liu Huanglong’s scientific output has been prolific, advancing orthopedics at Zhongnan Hospital with Professor Lan Hualuo, poised to become the next academic leader in E Province orthopedics...

Liu Huanglong glanced reluctantly at Lu Cheng, then took off his gloves and walked to the sink: ”This training course is mainly to broaden your horizons and provide a systematic path for growth, letting you see the technical ceiling.”

”The focus is on long-term development, not just these couple of hours of teaching. You also have instructional videos, watch them repeatedly for more insights.”

Since he’s a teacher, Liu Huanglong also makes excuses for his ’bias’.

Why do teachers favor good students?

The feedback is excellent!

If they master what is taught, doesn’t it mean my teaching ability is outstanding?

Being a teacher this way brings great fulfillment.

If students were clueless like cows, unable to learn, teachers would doubt their life choices.

Just seems the teacher-student relationship with this kid ends here, maybe choosing not to go to Zhongnan Hospital would have been better.

”Little Sister Xie, who is that?” Liu Huanglong gently asked Xie Yuan’an.

Xie Yuan’an is thirty, only nine years younger than Liu Huanglong. When Liu was in grad school, Xie was already fifteen, so calling her niece isn’t appropriate.

Scold when angry, and ask humbly when in need?

Xie Yuan’an’s eyes glinted, her gaze was deep, but her tone was firm: ”Lu Cheng.”

While wiping his hands, Liu Huanglong didn’t hear Xie Yuan’an’s follow-up: ”Whose student is he? Has he got a job offer?”

Liu Huanglong instinctively assumed Lu Cheng was a department doctoral student, auditing the class, as there are already seven people.

”Neither. From the County Hospital,” Xie Yuan’an replied.

Dong Qiaoshan and the others tactfully left, as Xie Yuan’an is part of the faculty, and there’s a separate gathering for faculty after class.

Being a local, Dong Qiaoshan led the way to find seats, leaving Liu Qiming behind to help Lu Cheng tidy up the operation desk.

Liu Huanglong’s face froze, nearly tearing his eye corner wider due to surprise: ”What?”

Next moment: ”Really?”

”Professor Zhong’s student,” Xie Yuan’an quickly clarified to avoid misunderstanding.

Liu Huanglong wasn’t one to be intimidated by Professor Zhong Junyun. Two years ago, he was still at Union Hospital, but as Professor Zhong Junyun was at his peak, realizing no chance to become a ward director, Liu Huanglong directly moved to Zhongnan Hospital to head the hand surgery department.

”Oh, I see, Xiao Xie, you’re such a jokester. How could such a person be a County Hospital doctor,” Liu Huanglong grinned widely.

”Have Teacher Xie and Teacher Zhong been waiting long? Let’s hurry over and check in,” Liu Huanglong quickly changed the subject, but while leaving, he took another look at Lu Cheng.

This kid’s talent was truly remarkable, even Professor Lan Hualuo might not catch up. It’s just a pity, getting noticed by the higher-ups.

...

In a private room at a restaurant, Lu Cheng, along with Liu Qiming, arrived last.

Lu Cheng had just messaged Mu Nanshu about not having lunch together, and immediately got caught.

”Xiao Lu, don’t be so cold, you’re aloof in class and still aloof now!~”

”Is this your idol notes?” Despite Dong Qiaoshan’s serious demeanor, he was actually quite jovial and liked joking.

”Teacher Dong, you’re the real idol here, you’re our icon, what’s an idol to me?”

”Earlier, Professor Liu also teased me, saying ’you think you’re Dong Qiaoshan?’”

”Isn’t it right, guys, you all heard it, right?” Lu Cheng was adept at jumping into conversations.

Overall, Dong Qiaoshan was indeed more competent than Lu Cheng, as reflected by Professor Liu Huanglong’s words.

But in actuality, it wasn’t a criticism of Lu Cheng.

What age is Lu Cheng, what age is Dong Qiaoshan? Dong Qiaoshan’s experience and talent, he had chances to make it at any top hospital in the nation!

Dong Qiaoshan was already an associate chief physician and associate professor at such a young age, how can his talents be ordinary?

And Lu Cheng, only thirty, with Liu Huanglong using Dong Qiaoshan to challenge him, clearly valued him highly.

Not considering the time of other geniuses?

Were others’ efforts and sweat in vain?

Dong Qiaoshan’s face quickly turned rosy, looking at Lu Cheng with a slightly twitching smile: ”Seems Xiao Lu has high ambitions, it’s good, young people should be driven.”

”But this kind of drive doesn’t give older folks a chance.”

Liu Huanglong was rightfully overshadowed by Lu Cheng alone, though he was meant to be a mentor for all…
