Lu Cheng was stunned—

[Suturing Skills: Suturing Skill (Specialization 0/200), Tendon Suturing Skill (Specialization 16/20), Nerve Suturing Skill (Skilled 3/10), Vascular Suturing Skill (Skilled 5/10), Bone Suturing Skill (Skilled 2/10), Membrane Suturing Skill (Skilled 9/10)]

[Suturing Specialized Skills: Unnamed Tendon Suturing Technique (Beginner 2/5)]

Lu Cheng calmed down, his expression tightened: ”???”

Where are my Modified Tang Method and Kessler Suturing Technique? Did you erase all those?

Those were things Lu Cheng invested a lot of Skill Points in.

While Lu Cheng was lost in thought, someone walked directly into the classroom and stood in front of Lu Cheng, ready to call him out!

When Lu Cheng came back to his senses, he felt a bit numb.

No way, in university classes, the teachers don’t care if you daydream; this is an advanced training class, and I’m being called out for daydreaming in class and subjected to PUA?

Professor Xie Xiao, seeing Lu Cheng unmoved, knocked on the table again: ”Come with me, Professor Zhong’s time is precious, he won’t wait long for you.”

After clearly hearing what Professor Xie Xiao was saying, Lu Cheng quickly got up.

Getting caught daydreaming in class is just daydreaming, so be it whatever happens.

...

The others also heard Professor Xie Xiao’s sudden intrusion and the words she said to Lu Cheng.

But seeing Lu Cheng’s age and knowing his unit, they knew Lu Cheng’s ”chicken feet” were something special.

Everyone is a well-experienced adult and is well-versed in the rules of society, so it doesn’t matter whenever it surfaces.

After Lu Cheng followed Professor Xie Xiao out the door, they went around several places, eventually seeing Professor Zhong Junyun smoking at the door of a fire escape.

When Lu Cheng arrived, Zhong Junyun, leaning against the doorframe, handed Lu Cheng a pack of cigarettes.

Just as Lu Cheng was hesitating whether to take one or politely refuse, Professor Zhong Junyun’s sneering voice precisely hit Lu Cheng’s eardrums: ”I heard from Xie Xiao that you’re planning to challenge the people at Huashan Hospital one-on-one?”

Lu Cheng’s brain froze.

What kind of talk is this?

Though the idea makes sense, but can it be stated so bluntly?

Lu Cheng looked up seriously at Zhong Junyun, and at close range, he could see the details on Professor Zhong’s face—

His skin was slightly wrinkled, with crow’s feet, brow peaks towering like cliffs, eyebrows sharply curved downwards to form an angle, resembling geometric lines etched by a scalpel; the zygomatic arch stretched horizontally like a cold iron bowstring, forming a T-shaped steel frame with the vertical nasal bone;

A jaw angle of over 100 degrees, the masseter muscle pulled tight like a carved relief, the chin thrust forward like a shield.

In oblique light, the cheekbones could reflect a metallic matte.

Lu Cheng swallowed dryly twice: ”Teacher Zhong, I didn’t say that.”

Zhong Junyun’s Sichuan-shaped forehead wrinkles deepened, frowning, the triangle hook-shaped eyebrows twitched: ”If you didn’t say it that way, then you must have thought it.”

”Hey, that’s quite amusing.”

”If Xie Xiao hadn’t mentioned it, I would not have been curious.” Zhong Junyun’s laughter was eerily intimidating.

It seemed like Lu Cheng’s intent to challenge Huashan Hospital coincided with what Zhong Junyun had in mind.

If Director Lin Qianlong from the county hospital was a carnivorous hunter, then this definitely was an exterminator-type hunter.

”Teacher Zhong, I indeed didn’t think that way either.” Lu Cheng knew that some thoughts can be entertained, but not spoken aloud.

If spoken aloud, Professor Zhong Junyun would be cursed by others until his head hurt.

In every top hospital, there are various experts, with generations passing down their skills; if someone at Huashan Hospital got upset and some old academician jumped out to deal directly with Lu Cheng, he’d be ruined for life.

”Getting cold feet now, huh?” Zhong Junyun instantly masked his expression, turning disinterested.

Lu Cheng sniffed and started explaining: ”You can do it, but don’t think it, don’t say it.”

Yes, if you want to hit someone, just do it, whether you break bones or not, it doesn’t matter!

If their skills aren’t up to par, the old guys won’t make a fuss.

But if you arrogantly boast and ’tarnish’ their reputation, other people won’t allow that.

”Alright, just for what you said, I can give you protection.”

”Come study here, follow me and study.” With that, Zhong Junyun walked away.

Lu Cheng looked doubtfully at Xie Xiao, who urgently waved her chubby hand, urging: ”What’re you standing gawking for? Hurry and catch up to call him your mentor?”

”If you follow Professor Zhong and walk around Huashan Hospital, no one dares to say anything against you. People have to be polite to you, are you silly?”

Thinking about what Professor Xie Xiao had introduced before, Lu Cheng couldn’t hold back—

The Chairman of the Hand Surgery Society of E Province, the Vice Chairman of the National Hand Surgery Society, this bigshot can walk horizontally across the nation.

Lu Cheng quickly followed up: ”Teacher Zhong, Teacher Zhong...thank you for your favor...”

Zhong Junyun paused briefly, raising his chin: ”Are you planning to politely decline me?”

Lu Cheng immediately shook his head: ”No, Teacher Zhong.”

”I, I meant to say, I have my own ideas, I’m not young anymore, already in my fourth year as an attending physician, so could I apply for a promotion to associate senior, and then come over to work for you?”

”It won’t take long, by then, it can save a lot of time in getting promoted.”

”Furthermore, learning is a lifelong endeavor, whether early or late, I still need you to carefully guide me to find the right direction.”

”Of course, I also hope you can provide a better choice!~” Lu Cheng expressed his thoughts, also hoping for better advice from Zhong Junyun.

Zhong Junyun’s brows furrowed, Sichuan-shaped wrinkles reappeared, and he nodded slowly: ”I’m also taking in an older student for the first time, but your current thinking is quite good.”

”If you indeed possess substantial clinical talent, you certainly have to study diligently, work diligently later on.”

”But how about the distance issue?”

Seeing Professor Zhong Junyun agreed, Lu Cheng immediately promised: ”As long as you say the word, barring nighttime, I guarantee I can arrive within half a day.”

What a joke, in front of a professor like Zhong Junyun, what’s with the loner act??

Being specifically chosen by Professor Zhong as a student, that’s with the intent of staying at the hospital.

The advice given by Professor Tong Yuan’an at Xiangya Hospital was simply to elevate my education level, without any other commitments since they can’t afford any.

So why be arrogant? He’s been seeking for years, knowing how difficult is to find a good teacher.

”Seriously want to challenge?” Zhong Junyun seemed to have some obsession, his words always abrasive.

Lu Cheng nodded, just not speaking.

”That’s somewhat challenging, you must be mentally prepared!~” Zhong Junyun walked forward, arms behind his back.

Lu Cheng continued to chase, catching up to walk beside Zhong Junyun: ”Teacher, it might not be that difficult.”

Bang!~

Zhong Junyun, confused by Lu Cheng’s words, forget to turn, knocking his forehead on the wall; fortunately, the forward momentum wasn’t fast and the impact wasn’t hard.

He looked at Lu Cheng as if observing an oddity.

”Where does your confidence come from?” Zhong Junyun rubbed his scalp.

Lu Cheng pressed his tongue against his palate, took a deep breath, voice slightly raspy: ”As long as you’re here, it won’t be hard!~”

Zhong Junyun pondered, apparently there wasn’t any other statement, making him see Lu Cheng’s intention clearer than now.

Zhong Junyun patted Lu Cheng’s head: ”Foolish… go, go attend the class.”
