System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Xie Yuan’an looks younger than Mu Nanshu, but in fact, she is actually older than Mu Nanshu.

It’s not that Xie Yuan’an looks more youthful than Mu Nanshu, but rather their temperaments are different!

If one were to describe their temperaments, Xie Yuan’an’s petite stature leans towards a ’loli’ type, while Mu Nanshu has the elegant ’lady’ style.

After securing the evidence, Xie Yuan’an removed the mouse from the board: ”Little mouse, in a while, we’ll happily send you off.”

”You’ve still got some time to grow your tail.”

The nude mouse had not yet woken up from anesthesia. Since it wasn’t for dissection and it was sewn up to observe its survival state, it couldn’t be euthanized immediately.

After sending the nude mouse back and marking it, Lu Cheng put on gloves again to tidy up the operating table.

Even though this wasn’t home, tidying the operating table after surgery had become Lu Cheng’s ”instinct”. He paid extra attention to these details outside, considering this was someone else’s ’Training Room’!

Five minutes later, when Lu Cheng saw Xie Yuan’an return, he asked, ”Teacher Xie, how should we pack these things for sterilization?”

”Wrap them in cloth and put them in the frame over there. Someone will come in the afternoon to take them away,” Xie Yuan’an replied in a low tone while heading towards the sink.

Then she turned her head and asked, ”Lu Cheng, have you really only been learning suturing for a few months?”

Lu Cheng shook his head: ”Of course not, I’ve always practiced, but the formal time with a teacher’s guidance wasn’t long.”

”Associate Professor Tong Yuan’an from Xiangya Hospital is considered my mentor,” Lu Cheng said openly.

It’s the truth. Lu Cheng wasn’t afraid of others verifying with Tong Yuan’an, as Tong was introverted and would certainly admit it.

”So before, you practiced on your own?” Xie Yuan’an asked Lu Cheng.

Lu Cheng nodded: ”Yes, during my standardized training, no matter how hard I worked, I couldn’t be more outstanding than others in the same period.”

Xie Yuan’an was puzzled: ”Didn’t anyone notice you didn’t have a teacher guiding you?”

”Who cares?” Lu Cheng interjected in English.

Sis, you’re just a trainee; a small trainee at that. Superiors look only at your ability. Who’s going to ask how you became like this?

As long as you don’t let anyone die under your training and are still working, that’s enough.

Honestly, Lu Cheng felt that if he had a teacher offering close guidance, he might not surpass his peers by far, but at least he could get a slight edge!

Learning medical skills is a meticulous process and also a ’specialized technique’ that shouldn’t be shared with many ears.

Without a skilled teacher’s guidance, you’re growing wildly, akin to the natural progression of surgical skills, where progress is slow...

Xie Yuan’an wiped her hands with a paper towel: ”With your current clinical expertise, even the low seniority attending doctors at our hospital might not compare, if you had some research articles and academic credentials.”

”Getting into our hospital would be casual for you, but your other resumes are too thin!~”

”Your suturing is something I even...”

Xie Yuan’an nodded, acknowledging: ”You indeed have clinical talent, much more than I do.”

”My dad’s name is Xie Xiao. I started practicing long ago, and under his patient guidance, I still can’t reach your level.”

Xie Yuan’an openly admitted to being Xie Xiao’s daughter.

Lu Cheng returned to the topic: ”Teacher Xie, should this be barely enough for the entry qualification of learning?”

Xie Yuan’an nodded seriously: ”That should naturally be enough.”

”In our hospital, the most outstanding people can reach your level during their inpatient rotations, and it’s rare to find one like that in a few years.”

”Dr. Lu, where are you heading later?”

”Why don’t I invite you to a meal?” Xie Yuan’an proactively invited.

But after speaking, Xie Yuan’an added, ”I just want to ask if you have any learning tips, no other intentions...”

Xie Yuan’an was worried Lu Cheng might misunderstand.

Actually, she wasn’t inclined to believe that gifted people had particularly effective learning methods. But now, she couldn’t think otherwise and figured Lu Cheng might have some secret techniques.

”Teacher Xie, I shouldn’t refuse your meal invitation, but I’m already committed,” Lu Cheng said.

Xie Yuan’an understood Lu Cheng: ”Alright then, remember to come to class on time in the afternoon. Other teachers will also be there for the opening ceremony...”

Lu Cheng said, ”Then I’ll find a place to review these booklets and materials.”

...

After Lu Cheng left the ”Advanced Skills Practice Room,” Xie Yuan’an rubbed her face.

She was always careful with her skincare products, afraid of loosening her skin, and now she deformed her face with rubbing.

Then, Xie Yuan’an made a call: ”Old man... did you see the message I sent you?”

”That’s the person I talked about before...”

Professor Xie Xiao paused for a long while, very seriously and patiently zooming the picture on his phone screen: ”How old is he?”

”Logically, he should be half a year younger than me, just thirty this year,” Xie Yuan’an said.

Xie Yuan’an had a close relationship with Mu Nanshu, and after learning about Lu Cheng from Mu Nanshu, she secretly started to gossip, finding out Lu Cheng’s connection with Professor Tong Yuan’an at Xiangya Hospital and shared this info with Xie Xiao.

Xie Yuan’an emphasized in Mu Nanshu’s tone to Professor Xie Xiao that Lu Cheng had great talent, inviting him to give Professor Tong Yuan’an a call to look after Lu Cheng.

Xie Xiao knew Mu Nanshu, had met her numerous times during his visits to Xie Yuan’an abroad.

When he heard about Mu Nanshu and Lu Cheng, he thought Mu Nanshu was a friend of his daughter’s, so he didn’t mind giving a verbal recommendation.

”Does the County Hospital have a hand surgery sub-specialty? It’s my first time hearing that the hand surgery development in Xiang Province has grown to such a scale?” Professor Xie Xiao was incredulous.

County Hospital offering finger reattachment? Rarely seen.

”No, Lu Cheng said his reason for practicing suturing is to participate in competitions and win prizes,” Xie Yuan’an explained.

”What?” Xie Xiao dropped his usual accent.

Practicing skills, competing, winning prizes?

What niche terms in the medical field? Those who win prizes, aren’t they all professional experts, with no shortage of surgeries?

”Yes, that’s exactly what Lu Cheng said,” Xie Yuan’an confirmed.

”It doesn’t sound like he’s joking.”

”And the key is, he says he only learned suturing for a few months...”

Xie Xiao’s tone raised: ”What? Are you out of your mind?”

”It should... be true,” Xie Yuan’an replied.

”Dad, now, it doesn’t count as me abusing my power, right? He’s genuinely here to learn, not for my misuse.”

Xie Xiao pondered for quite a while, then said: ”This Lu Cheng, he’s really something.”

”But you can’t substitute these data... it should be real...”

Xie Yuan’an, disgruntled: ”If I could do this, I’d be soaring by now!~”

”Who knows how he’s pulling it off...”

If Xie Yuan’an had such clinical ability, she’d already be a resident chief and wouldn’t need to hone her skills in the Training Room under the guise of a lecturer!
