Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The skies over the Plains of Cerovomen were clear, and after days of stealthy travel, Yang Yu and his group settled in East View City, establishing close ties with the Wansheng Republic.

After arriving in East View City, Yang Yu further refined the plan, having the mages from the All Things Library set up teleportation arrays at strategic points, ready to deploy weather magic as soon as Amoneval made a move.

Yang Yu sensed that the Demon King was keen to deal with him as a troublesome element, waiting for the right moment to act.

The coming days would test not only their patience but also their ability to discern the true intentions of the other side.

Thanks to the Beastman troops dispatched by the Wansheng Republic, the Demon Clan’s infiltration plans were almost thwarted.

Members of the Demon Clan using the Race Disguise Necklace were often caught and beaten by powerful guards as soon as they reached political centers.

In battle, although the Demon Clan’s aggression didn’t lessen, without the Four Heavenly Kings piercing the territory like knives, their advance slowed.

In several combats, Yang Yu and his group eliminated numerous Demon Clan cadres.

The unexpected slowdown in the Demon King Army’s attack puzzled Yang Yu.

While each generation of demon kings has attacked this world and knows a bit about it, they can’t match the knowledge of its inhabitants.

Moreover, as times change, the climate of this world inevitably shifts.

The Demon King Army couldn’t possibly have a complete grasp of the world’s first-hand information.

The Demon King did consider obtaining all kinds of information from this world, which is why he initially sent the Count Blood as a vanguard to this world.

Unfortunately, Count Blood had a rebellious streak and was dealt with by Yang Yu.

If Count Blood were still alive, the situation would certainly be more complex, and Yang Yu was not confident he could handle Count Blood’s actions.

While staying in East View City, Yang Yu always kept an eye on other battlefields.

The fiercer the battles elsewhere, the more they couldn’t act rashly.

Being rash could expose weaknesses, allowing the enemy to seize an opportunity.

Yang Yu remained calm, sorting through all the intelligence gathered so far while patiently confronting the Demon King Army.

Time passed second by second.

A whole week went by without any movement from either side.

After deliberation, Yang Yu decided to make the first move.

Since the Demon King was also waiting, it was time to give them a reason to show themselves.

During wartime, spreading rumors is standard practice.

Yang Yu had Ming Dalak both publicize the massive annihilation of the Demon King Army by the Wansheng Republic and spread rumors that ”Amoneval was seriously injured in a fierce battle and died on his way back, leaving the Demon King and his last Four Heavenly Kings afraid and in hiding.”

The rumors acted like poison; within just a day or two, morale within the Demon King Army plummeted, while the morale of the allied forces soared, feeling victory was at hand.

To prevent the rumors from falling apart on their own and to ensure the success of their offensive, the Demon Clan reacted quickly.

In a dim underground room, Tico set up a soundproof barrier, and Baronaco prevented any surveillance magic from spying, as Yang Yu linked up with Ming Dalak.

Ming Dalak didn’t hesitate to relay the first-hand intelligence to Yang Yu:

”...The situation is as follows.

The Heavenly King who manipulates steel has reemerged on the battlefield, controlling huge steel creations, and persistently breaking through the Terren Republic’s front lines.

The situation, which had somewhat eased, has become tense once again.

As for Amoneval and the Demon King... currently, there is no intelligence on either of them.”

”The rumor’s effectiveness persists.

Unless the Demon King or Amoneval appears in person, morale within the Demon King Army may continue to sag.

Before long, we will likely have news of them.”

Just as Yang Yu expected, after Ming Dalak concluded his communication with Yang Yu’s group, he immediately received domestic reports.

Forced to act, Ming Dalak re-established contact with Yang Yu, relaying everything that had occurred:

”...Amoneval has reappeared.

He’s leading his army to encroach upon our land.

It’s different from before; he is not storming in alone but advancing steadily with his forces.

Moreover, according to the scout reports....

The Demon King gave a motivational speech to all units, explaining the days of dormancy.

He said he underestimated this world initially, which led to a tragedy and slowed down the conquest.

During these days, he deeply reflected on himself and will make more cautious decisions in the future, leading the Demon King Army to ultimate victory.

Furthermore...the Demon King announced he would take over all assault operations on the Luo Ze Empire, personally overseeing them...

The pace of the Demon King Army’s advance has slowed substantially, but morale has rebounded.

Following Amoneval’s current route, mere diversions might not be enough to redirect him to the Plains of Cerovomen.

News from the Luo Ze Empire indicates the Demon King may have come for his daughter.

They hope you can visit them, just in case.”

”Are they finally getting serious... or is it...?”

After pondering for a moment, Yang Yu spoke to Ming Dalak:

”Relay to Emperor Klaroci that I don’t yet have the strength to defeat the Demon King and don’t intend to alter the plan.

If things don’t work out, I’ll attempt negotiations using Tian Hanxue.

If negotiations fail... I can accept whatever decision they make.”

”Understood. I will convey your message.” Ming Dalak was not surprised by Yang Yu’s decision.

Wiping his face, Yang Yu fixed his gaze: ”Does Amoneval still have the habit of engaging powerful opponents one-on-one?”

Ming Dalak replied: ”Based on current intelligence, he does, but now he decisively kills anyone who challenges him.

He nearly starts off at full power.

Afterward, he eagerly participates in sieges.

Perhaps during our conversation, he has already captured two cities.

Though waiting for him to attack here remains an option...

The route of Amoneval’s assault is clearly heading towards the Wansheng Republic capital.

Not just Amoneval, but both the Iron Steel Dragon Black Diamond Lorne and the Demon King are advancing towards the capitals of various nations.

The Wansheng Republic’s capital, Baihua City, is heavily defended by mighty forces, making it challenging for Amoneval to capture, but it’s crucial not to forget the numerous teleportation towers erected by the Demon King in conquered regions.

If the Demon King and his forces use feints, mass teleporting elite soldiers to besiege a single nation’s capital...

The capital would only face the question of how long it can hold out.

Yang Yu didn’t believe that a nation using all its resources could stop the Demon King’s swift invasion.

The current Demon King’s power is definitely not just limited to that.
