Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”To complete the transformation requires a lengthy period, as well as vast magic power.

Sol Rott, when you awake, you might never see us again.

I have made quite a few mistakes in the past.

The birth of New Lukaism is also my fault. In the final moments of my life, I’ve been trying to amend my errors, yet...”

Before Sol Rott was about to be transformed, his superior brought the actual leader of their organization.

It was an old man placed in a nutritional pod, carried by a mecha.

His aged body resembled dry firewood, covered in countless scars, evidence of the many battles he had fought.

Sol Rott had heard that their leader was a being transcending eras, with at least a lifespan of several hundred years, who once witnessed the golden age firsthand.

Sol Rott had always believed their leader to be an elder full of compassion, with eyes bursting with wisdom.

He never imagined their organization leader would look so, like a soul clinging to a dying shell, hanging onto the last breath.

”My time is running out...

We can only place our hopes in you.

The world you will see henceforth will surely be different, and by then you will possess the power to transcend all creation.

I will leave behind all that I can leave.

Despite the hardship, in the future, you will surely encounter someone who can give you correct directives.

I believe...

As long as humans can face all of history squarely, one day, they will come together again.

Even if it takes a long cycle.”

Sol Rott took out ancient book pages from his pocket and read the nostalgic text on them.

”

GK Year 015, May 22

Today is truly a good day, with two uplifting pieces of news.

Firstly, the research on miniaturization has achieved a breakthrough!

As long as the miniaturization research succeeds, our speed of processing magic power will significantly increase!

The existing instruments find it hard to further break accuracy, but what if those who manufacture and manipulate them were reduced a thousand fold?

Upon miniaturization, movement is difficult, but they can be cared for by officers, yet they themselves should best possess the ability for short-distance movement, so they have enough capability to escape when accidents occur.

Oh! If the plan succeeds, how about giving them a pair of ’wings’?

Previously, the materials department achieved a new breakthrough; as long as magic power flows are motivated, the materials can fly in mid-air like magnetic levitation.

This will be proposed in the next meeting.

Another piece of good news, the training ground adapting to magic power combat observed a unique magic power enrichment phenomenon, presenting life characteristics similar to amoebas.

Researchers from the bacteriology department confirmed the fact that bacteria obtain magic power by ingesting plant-tamed magic.

Some bacteria in the cultivation chamber even acquired the ability to release electric current, attacking competitors, triggering a magic war among bacteria!

Bacteria reproduce rapidly, through exhaustive trials, retracing life evolution, identifying suitable genes for grafting, the fastest adaptation to magic power combat can be achieved.

I’ve always thought that way.

But everything happening at the training ground showed us new possibilities.

...

...”

Sol Rott knew these texts were ancient, tracing back to the time when no civil wars erupted among humans.

Back then, humans united and many difficult problems could be focused on and breakthroughs achieved.

They spent considerable time constructing this Magic World, attempting to clear the gigantic barriers obstructing humans.

The contradictions lie in facing the gigantic barriers, some choose to climb over; some choose to find another way out along the wall; some choose to break through the wall headfirst...

No way can say they are wrong.

Because there are numerous types of walls, some are too high to climb yet thin as a cicada’s wing; some are indestructible yet not wide enough...

”Ultimately, is it those who wield the force that control the world?

And their power in the decaying politics flowed to the successor’s hand, making him a king.

Everything again cycles...

The rulers, to demonstrate their legitimacy, began ’de-dynastization,’ not only abolishing various cultural symbols but also abolishing shared scripts and languages.

The doctrine clearly says this world never belonged to idealists.

Because, the nature of humans as animals lies there.

After recognizing oneself, understanding the essence of this world, those who can still persist in ideals, who rebel against this world, are truly rare.

Our struggle perhaps has ended.

But this world will never lack idealists.

One day, there will be people raising the flag again, trying to lead everyone out of the swamp of decay and incessant conflict...”

As Sol Rott murmured, a dark-skinned teenager carrying a backpack braved danger to climb the hill, bringing him a steaming meal.

The teenager showed a cheerful smile, ”The meal’s ready, eat up! This meal is my mother’s masterpiece! So you can understand what I’m saying, right?”

Sol Rott nodded.

After awakening, to better understand this world, he traveled everywhere.

The best way to understand the world is indeed to learn their language and understand their culture.

Therefore, Sol Rott stayed here, pretending to be a clueless big guy, demanding they help him read and write by repelling nearby thieves.

The initial communication was not smooth, but fortunately, Sol Rott recalled the person used drawing on the ruins to communicate.

He scribbled, reluctantly letting everyone understand his intention.

The villagers were very grateful for what Sol Rott did, willing to help this ”wild man cut off from society for a long time” read and write.

This teenager was sent by the villagers to guide him.

Life activities require energy. As a transformed giant dragon, Sol Rott can absorb energy from surroundings without eating, but to avoid raising suspicion, he spends some time daily seeking wild fruits.

After learning of this, the teenager sends him meals every day without a word.

Sol Rott opened the backpack, with the meals packed in several small boxes, seven to eight boxes in total.

The teenager opened the top thermal cover, as Sol Rott lightly touched the ground, a smooth stone table emerged.

”Magic is truly convenient.

I know you are not sociable, but friends need to be made. Your protection of us is vivid in our minds.

I believe a village, especially during such times, should have no one rejecting an almost free bodyguard.

Do you understand what I’m saying?

The things I taught, don’t forget them, or I’d find it hard to face the village head!”
