Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The young man laid out the food on the stone table, chattering:

”Actually, I had a selfish reason for asking you to go down.

This cliff is just too hard to climb.

I knew that if I accidentally fell, you would save me... You also want to strengthen me.

But more than physical training, I hope to understand what magic really is, and I hope you teach me magic.

If we have magic, many problems in life would become simple.

I’ve said so much at once, even though they’re all things you’ve taught...

You probably can’t remember it all, right?

We must proceed step-by-step.”

The young man looked a bit disappointed, when suddenly a deep voice spoke in the language of this world:

”Magic is not omnipotent. If you truly wish to learn, wait until I have nothing going on and I will come to teach you.”

Upon hearing this, the young man’s face instantly lit up with a smile.

Sol Rott said no more and just looked into the distance.

In the direction he was looking, a dark silhouette sat on a throne, purple flames flickering beneath a black helmet.

In an instant, the Deceitful Emperor felt like he locked eyes with something.

Long memories flashed through the Deceitful Emperor’s mind, as if they took him through ages of time and showed him the civilization that built two worlds.

No matter which generation of Demon King, even the most brutal and vicious Demon King, upon witnessing this eons-old passage of time and such a magnificent civilization rising from it, would feel insignificant, foolish, and then, suddenly enlightened, would shoulder an unwavering mission.

Even if the ultimate price is their own death.

”Without dealing with her, our civilization cannot advance.

Only by defeating her can our civilization get back on track!”

The commander who came to report didn’t understand the words escaping the Demon King’s mouth, cautiously completed his report, and slowly left.

The Demon King had been back in Demon King City for two days now, and during these two days, the Demon King seemed to be waiting for something, instructing the army to watch for any suspicious actions and immediately report any sudden attacks.

Along with the Demon King in the Demon King City were also two of the Four Heavenly Kings, who lacked the enthusiasm and courage they once had in battle.

The commander received instructions to explain to all forces that the Demon King and the Four Heavenly Kings had their designated battle locations and were conducting battles smoothly.

The commander relayed the orders exactly as requested by the Demon King, but with the Demon King and the Four Heavenly Kings right under his nose, he couldn’t help but speculate about their motives.

Recalling the news of Tian Hanxue’s capture and Ammonval’s retreat, the commander suddenly realized.

....

....

Fairyland.

In the center of a spacious room, several green vine-like things tangled together, supporting a crystal ball emitting a white glow.

This was the fairies’ secret treasure, called ”All-Knowing” by the fairies.

The light from the white crystal ball felt thick like gas, illuminating every corner of the room.

By reaching out a hand, one could sense the rich magic power emitted by the crystal ball.

The last time, Yang Yu used this fairies’ secret treasure to conduct various intelligence investigations, and now he was trying to see if he could acquire some knowledge from outside the All Things Library.

This attempt was in vain.

Even with the fairies’ help, Yang Yu couldn’t extract any additional knowledge from the fairies’ secret treasure.

It wasn’t that there wasn’t any knowledge beyond the records of the All Things Library inside, but accessing that knowledge required permission.

Even Fairy King Kaka Rote didn’t know how to unlock the permissions, and Yang Yu and the others could only return unsuccessfully.

Before visiting the fairies’ secret treasure, Yang Yu re-explored the relics, and unfortunately, there was nothing valuable inside.

If there was, Yang Yu and his companions would have discovered it when cleaning up the ”Black Energy” for the All Things Library.

However, Yang Yu didn’t come away empty-handed.

Upon re-investigating, Yang Yu carefully revisited the completed tasks.

In the early stages of the adventure, he wasn’t very cautious, even a bit arrogant and frivolous, inevitably overlooking some things.

With a lot of intelligence now, revisiting the past completed tasks, Yang Yu came to new understandings.

[... Over the long river of time, every civilization harbors countless possibilities.

In an ancient era unknown to people, there existed an advanced civilization that people were in awe of; this civilization weathered storms and soared on wings, but one day, this civilization faced unprecedented despair.

That despair became an obstacle hindering their civilization’s development.

To break through the technological limits, and also to prove that no true god exists in this world.

That civilization spent everything it had, trying every way, even part of it becoming ”creators”, yet ultimately couldn’t break the limits, moving forward with no return, eventually heading toward destruction.

By a stroke of luck, you found the last traces left by that civilization, but it seems the legacy they left behind became this world’s developmental stumbling block.]

The hints had been there for a long time.

Looking at the instructions for the task to suppress the [Light of God Destruction], Yang Yu recalled all his thoughts from the time of the campaign against the Light of God Destruction.

Initially, Yang Yu just saw this mission explanation as a common ancient relic setting, but now, it connected many things together.

”I’m sorry I couldn’t help you much. I only prepared the things you needed for you.” Fairy King Kaka Rote handed [Fairy’s Magic Stone] to Yang Yu.

”No. I’m the one troubling you by coming here knowing there might be no intelligence. I’m extremely grateful for you generously contributing these [Fairy’s Magic Stone].”

Yang Yu accepted the [Fairy’s Magic Stone] without hesitation, but this time he didn’t directly store it in the system, but handed it to Bai Jin not far away.

”Bai Jin, I leave these things in your care.

I trust your judgment; you will definitely put these tools to good use.

Additionally...”

Yang Yu took out some tools and handed them to others, saying a few words to each of them, just as he did with Bai Jin.

Afterward, Yang Yu gathered the agreed-upon magicians in Fairyland, formally revealing the entire plan.

Tico was originally not part of the plan, but this time, she insisted on wanting to offer help to Yang Yu and the others.

By the end of the meeting, the gloom on Tico’s face had completely disappeared, giving way to a rare smile.

On her chest, she wore a somewhat damaged name tag, different from advanced members’ star inlays, hers adorned with a brilliantly blooming cherry blossom, with each petal a different color: pink, white, red, blue, orange, arranged clockwise from the top.

The companions met during the adventure were very reliable.

There were many things that could be done just as well by others, even if not personally handled.

Yang Yu didn’t refuse Tico’s joining.

Li Yan was Tico’s teacher, and Tico, now less naive than a few years ago, Yang Yu knew she would not act recklessly but follow instructions diligently.

With the lineup and plan essentially set, Yang Yu and the group carefully disguised themselves before officially embarking on the journey toward Sailuomen Plain.
