Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”I am the messenger soldier under [Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval of the Demon King Army’s Four Heavenly Kings.

Our lord will arrive at this city in the near future, please make preparations.

If you are determined to resist to the end, it is best to deploy the army to fight, otherwise, the city will surely be devastated.

The above.”

A demon clan member riding a unique magic beast shouted loudly at a fortress, declaring war as before, then quietly retreated to the nearby forest, waiting for the main force to arrive.

On the city wall, a young man with a ponytail was just finishing contact using a crystal ball, his furrowed eyebrows slowly relaxed.

Before the demon clan declared war, their scouts had already detected the demon clan’s messenger soldier in advance and relayed the news back to the command center.

[Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval’s name is thunderous, thus far, he is undefeated, all opposing forces with him have been burned to ashes.

Marco, with the resolve to meet death, held the fortress despite knowing he might just become another defeated general under [Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval, but Marco was determined to fight to the end to gain more time for the subsequent forces.

Just as Marco was contemplating how to confront the enemy, a secret message came from the command center.

There was a plan that required his cooperation.

Ten minutes after the messenger soldier declared war, Marco sighted the mighty Demon King Army approaching from the city wall.

A man wielding a long sword walked at the forefront, his entire body enveloped in intimidating scorching flames, exuding an aura imposing enough to make one kneel immediately.

Marco skillfully coordinated the prepared troops, opened the city gates, and ventured out to face the enemy.

After years of growth, he was no longer the inexperienced young general he once was.

Riding the fierce Flame Rhinoceros, [Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval walked at the front, pleased to see Marco emerge from the city to confront the enemy. He leapt off the Flame Rhinoceros and landed steadily before the two armies.

”I am [Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval, one of the Four Heavenly Kings under the Demon King.

The declaration of war, have you heard it?

Send out the strongest person in your army and fight me to the death!

My troops and I will defeat you utterly, obediently surrender the city!”

[Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval smiled, anticipating facing a formidable opponent, relishing the feeling when strong enemies rack their brain to defeat him yet ultimately fall victim to his might.

Survival is battle.

Only by constantly challenging and confronting powerful enemies can [Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval truly feel alive.

Compared to other Four Heavenly Kings, [Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval’s reason for joining the Demon King Army was quite simple, without overly grand ideals.

Back then, the youthful [Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval was saved by the Deceitful Emperor and lost to him once, thus he joined the Deceitful Emperor’s ranks.

Initially, the Deceitful Emperor promised him that if he could help eliminate other forces and become the Demon King, he would show him the true strength possessed by the Demon King.

At that time, the Deceitful Emperor’s force was still small, on the brink of annihilation.

Ordinary people kept their distance from such minor forces and invitations.

But Ammonval thought, this is interesting.

Helping such a small force gradually grow into a towering tree, what kind of strong enemies might he encounter, what exhilarating battles might he face, thinking about it was a little exciting.

After joining the Deceitful Emperor’s army, [Red Flame Monarch] fulfilled his wishes, going through numerous battles where life and death hung in the balance, growing step by step, and understanding some things he couldn’t comprehend as a child.

The Deceitful Emperor marched forward triumphantly, becoming a genuine Demon King.

Having cleared most obstacles, [Red Flame Monarch] once challenged the Demon King again.

Having witnessed the truly unfathomable power of the Demon King, [Red Flame Monarch] knew he could never surpass the Demon King in this lifetime.

For a long time, [Red Flame Monarch] lost his goal until the Demon King announced plans to advance into another world, sharing drinks, conversing openly...

Under beautiful moonlight, the Demon King candidly revealed the truth of the world to him.

Even though many things he didn’t understand, he knew that even at the entire world’s highest position, the Demon King had unimaginable long-term goals, unlike him who stagnated and refused to progress.

[Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval rediscovered his aim.

- To become the ”Strongest Spear” wielded by the Demon King, help the Deceitful Emperor fulfill the Demon King’s real mission, and see the wonderful world the Deceitful Emperor spoke of.

Surely, there are many formidable enemies in that other world, crushing them means helping the Demon King, [Red Flame Monarch] also wants to see how resilient the people in that other world are.

Under the swaying flames in the wind, facing the imposing [Red Flame Monarch], Marco did not retreat, rode forward to the front lines, and shouted loudly:

”Honored [Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval, a pleasure to meet your reputation.

Your myth of invincibility, I’ve long heard of. Also heard you enjoy dueling strong opponents.

I consider myself somewhat capable, otherwise, I wouldn’t be stationed to defend this fortress, or appointed as a general in this country.

But compared to you, like the glow of an ignoble light.

How can it compare to the bright moon in the sky?

[Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval, do not misunderstand.

I am not afraid of battle, on the contrary, if necessary, I will gladly meet death, courageously sacrifice.

What I want to say is, bypassing this fortress, crossing several mountain tops is the Selovomen Plain, it is our vital grain production area, now in the harvest season.

Due to some former mischief by one of the Four Heavenly Kings, our country and the Luoze Empire were embroiled in war.

That plain too was abandoned in many places due to war, resulting in years of poor harvest.

Our national treasury has depleted long ago, in urgent need of grain replenishment.

We cannot allow you to bypass here and reach there, disrupting production.

After successive endorsements. Our national leaders have decided to deploy advanced combat forces, intending to engage in a decisive battle with you, they will arrive here in a few minutes.

Still don’t know if [Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval can wait a moment longer?

If I dare to deceive you, I am willing to personally behead myself to apologize to you!”

[Red Flame Monarch] Ammonval exhaled a breath of heat, without instantly expressing a stance, but rather asked:

”In your Wansheng Republic, it is said that man’s legend circulates. Will that man, the Colorful-haired Masked Man appear here?”

This truly stumped Marco, he replied truthfully:

”Now temporarily unknown who the dispatched people are! Only know they are being transported by a giant Silver Wolf, whether it is him, only after seeing can be known!”
