Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Because Pingru Kejie Wulais remembered Yang Yu’s characteristic Magic Power, she decided to set off immediately after receiving communication from the Emperor, to personally deliver the items to Yang Yu.

Noticing Pingru Kejie Wulais’s arrival, Yang Yu stood up to greet her, waving gently at the slowly descending Pingru Kejie Wulais to acknowledge her efforts.

Even with the support of the nation and the ability to use the Goddess Sect’s Teleportation Array, getting here quickly is no easy task.

Pingru Kejie Wulais traveled tirelessly, with almost no rest, yet she showed no signs of fatigue:

”I have heard everything that’s happened. I really didn’t expect you’d think of me at such a critical moment. After all, we’ve only met once.”

Yang Yu’s lips curled up slightly as he said, ”Precisely because we only met once, I asked the Emperor to inquire if you could assist. I didn’t expect you to agree so readily.”

Pingru Kejie Wulais declared, ”I want to do something for this world.

If we don’t get rid of the Demon King soon, countless innocent people will be hurt.

I came to help, not because of you.

Anyone capable of driving out the Demon King Army, I will assist.

If others could accomplish what you’ve done, I’d come immediately too.”

Yang Yu knew that Pingru was outwardly cold but warm inside.

Otherwise, Pingru wouldn’t have run over anxiously to stop him when he was leading the Beastman Army to the Luo Ze Empire.

Thanks to this warmth beneath the cold, Yang Yu and his group managed to escape the pursuit of the Curse Sect alive.

Unfortunately, their first meeting ended that way.

Originally, Yang Yu just wanted to advise Pingru not to differentiate because of different races, but inadvertently made her cry.

”Turns out, in this world, there are still more good people.” Yang Yu couldn’t help but sigh.

”But there are also many who only want to protect themselves.” Pingru Kejie Wulais’s voice turned somber, ”Our Sky-breaking Stone’s leader doesn’t really want to get involved in this war; when choosing tasks, he opted to defend the royal capital and didn’t want to go to the front line at all.

When there was war with our country, as soon as I was active near the border, he’d warn me not to get involved casually.

Back then, due to restrictions of rules, it seemed like nothing; I took his advice as ordinary reminders.

But looking back today, those reminders probably contained some unspoken feelings.”

”Maybe he just doesn’t want his members to take unnecessary risks. At that time, he was probably worried about the giant dragon’s punishment, and now, worried about you getting caught in something unmanageable…”

”Maybe!

But in such a critical moment, not thinking of doing something for your compatriots makes me quite uneasy.

I’m really worried that when the Demon King attacks the capital, he’d be the first to lead us to surrender.”

Pingru Kejie Wulais voiced her grievances, seemingly envious of Yang Yu and those who can fight at the front line and save the world.

Smiling gently, Yang Yu glanced at Pingru and got back to business:

”That’s enough chit-chat for now.

The last time you and your duplicate fought, the scene is still vivid in my mind.

The flame magic you both released had no effect on each other.

I’ve also fought the fake that impersonated you; it can perfectly imitate a person and copy their weapons but cannot replicate skills.

Being immune to each other’s Flame Magic is not something that can be explained by skill alone.

The reason why you are immune to those flame skills is that you have a piece of equipment.

The Four Heavenly Kings we’re about to face includes a warrior who uses flames.

If we could get that piece of equipment from you, our chances of defeating him would greatly increase.

Your presence here suggests you’re willing to lend it to us.

Feel free to state your conditions. I’ll do my best to meet them.”

”Then let me directly participate in this operation. With my current strength, I can definitely be of great help to you.” Pingru Kejie Wulais straightforwardly put forth her condition.

Such a straightforward acceptance was something Yang Yu had prepared for, expecting either a hefty condition or nothing at all. Instead, she laid down such a request.

”I can understand if you’re reluctant to lend out your cherished equipment, but you don’t have to join us just because of that.”

”Perhaps you’ve misunderstood. I came here for that reason from the start.”

”It seems you’re extremely confident in your abilities, thinking nothing, not even fire, can harm you.

However, your opponent is one of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Demon World.

He not only knows Flame Magic.

No one can say for sure what other trump cards he holds.

I’ve devised a tactic that requires extremely skilled cooperation and has stringent requirements on individual strength.”

”Are you implying I’m not up to par with you?”

”Listen to the first part of what I’m saying.

As the deputy leader of an S-Class adventure group, you should understand the importance of cooperation.

It’s only by working well together that we can survive against the Four Heavenly Kings.

You are not one of our members and have not integrated with us.

I cannot guarantee that we can cooperate with you in a crisis. I also don’t want to risk leaving certain tasks to someone who hasn’t worked with us, risking your life.

Alright, let’s just be upfront!

I don’t want to entrust our lives to someone I’ve only met twice.

Don’t, in your pursuit of personal justice, become a hindrance to us.”

Pingru stood stunned for a moment. Generally, when seeking help from others, shouldn’t you speak calmly?

Even if there are grievances, they should be voiced more subtly, so why is this man so straightforward?

It was at that moment that Pingru began to realize the gap between Yang Yu and herself, perhaps the reason he could resolve wars between two nations.

”You’re absolutely right. Although the way you put it is somewhat infuriating, it is indeed your genuine thoughts. But, you don’t have a 100% guarantee of defeating that Heavenly King either, right? A helping hand adds a bit more strength.”

Yang Yu confessed, ”I appreciate your intentions. The probability of success with this plan is about thirty percent. If you join, it might drop to ten percent. So, if possible, I still hope you won’t hinder us too much.”

”The way you insist makes it difficult for me; just give me a small task,” Pingru pleaded, ”I also want to do something about my past prejudices.”
