Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”I know the predicaments you face.

Commercializing the All Things Library, against its original intent, you were left with no choice.

I am aware that some others have adopted the same strategy as you.

Plugging a hole does not mean it is completely fixed.

Addressing an urgent crisis does not mean the problem is fully resolved.

If problems are allowed to ramp up unchecked, one day, they will all be exposed together.”

Yang Yu paused,

”From the way the Fairy Kingdom handles things to their current stance against the Demon King…

I can see what you are thinking.

You haven’t completely avoided change, otherwise, you wouldn’t have broken neutrality and sent mages for support.”

”Such boastful words.

Do you perhaps have a better solution?”

Though initially just observing for fun, if Yang Yu truly had a solution for the All Things Library’s unrest, Baronaco would not stand on ceremony.

Yang Yu did not immediately answer Baronaco’s question but instead asked:

”I once won the Dragon God Tournament.

The reward system issued by the dragon was eye-opening for me.

On the dragon’s rewards list, there is a reward for accessing the knowledge library.

Elders of the well-informed All Things Library, how much do you know about this?”

The elders of the All Things Library looked at each other and finally all turned their gaze to Li Yan.

The Dragon God Tournament is held once every ten years, allowing only three winners.

Those who obtain the dragon’s racial essence will greatly increase their lifespan, but due to unforeseen circumstances and the fact that most winners are concentrated in the Dragon God Evaluation Country, few have seen the winners of the Dragon God Tournament.

Generally speaking, to avoid unnecessary trouble, winners of the Dragon God Tournament rarely mention receiving their prize to others.

There are books in the All Things Library that introduce the prize-receiving process, but they are very vague.

Normal people cannot win the Dragon God Tournament, so reading those books is purely for amusement.

Those who become elders of the All Things Library have some self-awareness. With so many books in the library, they won’t spend time on knowledge they aren’t interested in.

Yang Yu’s question touched precisely on their blind spot in knowledge. Fortunately, in the current Elder Council of the All Things Library, there is also a winner of the Dragon God Tournament.

Perhaps he can answer Yang Yu’s question.

Under everyone’s gaze, Elder Li Yan slowly spoke:

”Indeed, there is an option to enter the knowledge library to answer queries.

This was many, many years ago, but I still remember it vividly.

I still remember that the dragon’s racial essence could be exchanged for victory points.

Different prizes require victory points. The ranking achieved corresponds to different victory points received.

I remember the victory points needed to enter the knowledge library were equal to the points obtained from exchanging the dragon’s racial essence.

Have you ever been to the dragon’s knowledge library?

You should know, the points spent could obtain many rare treasures.

Did you resist the temptation and enter the dragon’s knowledge library?”

With a smile on his lips, Yang Yu replied: ”Because there are some things I want to investigate thoroughly.

Those things cannot be checked in the All Things Library no matter how hard you try.

The knowledge held by the All Things Library is incomparable to the dragon knowledge library.

To draw an analogy, if the dragon’s knowledge library is like the All Things Library, then the All Things Library is like a newsstand by the roadside.”

One of the library elders was dismissive of Yang Yu’s analogy:

”What do we care about the knowledge dragons possess?

Those selfish dragons won’t easily impart their knowledge to us!

Even if they possess all the knowledge of the world, it has nothing to do with us...”

”It does matter!”

Yang Yu interrupted the library elder’s words forcefully,

”That is the heritage left to all humanity by our ancestors!”

”Left to all humanity... heritage?”

Hearing Yang Yu’s words, several elders murmured to themselves, their faces showing dramatic changes, not using telepathy to communicate secretly, but leaning in close, whispering to each other.

After a while, an elder stood up and asked Yang Yu:

”Are you implying that dragons have seized a heritage that belongs to all humanity?”

Yang Yu shrugged, ”I never said that.

Dragons may indeed appear selfish in some ways.

However, their integrity is beyond reproach.

They have always adhered to the vows set in the past, guarding the heritage left by our ancestors, waiting for the suitable time for us to reclaim it.

Even if we repeat our mistakes countless times, even if it may take us many, many years, dragons still wait for us to reclaim the heritage known as ’knowledge’.

What the dragons have guarded over these thousands of years is our future.

Our ancestors believed that even if civilization was destroyed, as long as people in this world could come together again, one day they would understand the heritage left, and use the power it provides to venture into the unknown future.

Next, let me tell you some things beyond your understanding!

Let me share my adventures of these past years, and what I have truly seen in the dragon’s knowledge library!

And let me tell you the real reason why I hope you can lend a hand.”

After that, Yang Yu indeed began to recount all that he had experienced in the two-country war and what he had witnessed in the dragon knowledge library.

Some ridiculous matters, for instance what happened in the ancient country Chun Lan, the people of the All Things Library had heard rumors when investigating the war, but most of them regarded it as legend and laughed it off.

In the values of the vast majority, sub-humans living in this world and humans are viewed as two completely different beings.

The elders of the All Things Library were no exception.

When they heard Yang Yu explain with concrete evidence that sub-humans were also descendants of humans like them, they felt their values were being fiercely attacked.

After that, Yang Yu dropped an even more weighty revelation:

”...Though the Demon Clan has strange and varied appearances, they should also be humans like us.

In that era of many countries, there were also appearances of the Demon Clan.

They were coerced into war by the Demon King, and after the Demon King’s defeat, they were left behind in this world.

The current many sub-human races are actually the Demon World immigrants who remained in this world!

The Demon King might also know this...

No, he certainly knows this too.

Even knowing this, he still raises the knife at us, wanting to thoroughly conquer us and bring us into his rule.

I have yet to find the reason why the Demon King initiates his raids on this world.

But the Demon King must have his mission he wishes to complete, which is why he tirelessly opens the gates between the two worlds to invade this world generation after generation.

What we need to understand is that the weak do not deserve the right to converse with him.

To make him take us seriously, we must prove our strength, showing achievements that catch his interest.”

Choose!

Will you join me to prove our strength to him, to go towards truly eradicating the Demon King’s invasions?

Or will you let the world linger in chaos repeatedly?”
