Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Strange Increase in Knowledge

Time passed amidst idle chatter, and the dinner gradually reached its conclusion.

Having had his fill of food and drink, Yang Yu was about to gather his things and leave when he spotted the young girl who had planned to interview him today at the Library entering the restaurant with a melancholic stride.

He immediately decided not to leave and raised his hand to shout at the waiter,

”I haven’t had enough to eat yet! Waiter, let Mr. Qilom bring a few more dishes.”

As his booming voice filled the air, Keke Ai looked up and noticed Yang Yu. Her gaze wandered but ultimately, she chose not to come over and talk.

With the lesson learned from before, Ghost Talent knew what might happen if she tried to interview him now!

Keke Ai flipped up her hood to cover her hair and sat at a nearby table. She decided not to interview Yang Yu anymore but to pretend she was just passing by and secretly observe him.

Catching Keke Ai’s subtle movements out of the corner of his eye, Yang Yu pretended not to see and continued to order loudly. Then, with an apologetic look in his eyes toward the others, he hoped they would continue to chat with him.

Starting casually, Yang Yu began to talk about the Underground Maze, deliberately revealing to Keke Ai that he possessed unknown knowledge obtained there. He even mentioned that he had sold food items obtained from the maze to Mr. Qilom and received a Five Stars rating from him.

Fearing Keke Ai might not hear, Yang Yu occasionally emphasized certain words, frantically hinting to Keke Ai that his achievements were closely related to the Underground Maze.

Despite doubts about Keke Ai’s identity, she was ostensibly still a journalist and had to do a journalist’s job.

A journalist, such a useful pawn, how could Yang Yu let her slip by?

As long as he could make good use of the pawn Keke Ai, his popularity would be further enhanced.

He could also use the tactic of hunger marketing to drive the prices of the three books he held into the sky, making the Library willingly incur losses.

Having said all he could, Yang Yu eventually took the initiative to end the dinner, bidding farewell to Tico and Latis, and leaving the restaurant with his team.

In fact, Yang Yu still had other matters he wanted to discuss, such as the other Monster Tamers in this Library.

Demons within the jurisdiction of the Library tended to become violent, which was a major pitfall in itself.

There had been multiple incidents in the history of the All Things Library involving Monster Tamers inciting demons to riot.

To prevent their partnered demons from being slain by the Library, these Tamers would surely be cautious, secretly uncover the real motives behind incidents, and try everything to protect their demons.

If he could find them, he might be able to obtain ready-made information from them, saving the time needed to gather extensive duplicated data.

Yet Yang Yu never brought up the issue of the Monster Tamers openly, for, in the end, he didn’t want Latis and Tico involved in this.

If, through this event, the two were attracted by his charisma and pestered him to join his team, it would be difficult for him.

While he could outright refuse Latis, as for Tico... as long as he still held the title of a Tico fan, he truly couldn’t refuse Tico’s requests.

Having a peerless genius and a proud princess join his team would speed up leveling, but it would also strip away much of the fun, something Yang Yu, as a player, definitely didn’t want to see.

Thus, Yang Yu was strategizing, trying his best not to interact with those two, each minding their own business until the true arrival of the Demon King, when they would cooperate.

But who knew, even coming out for a meal, he still ran into the two of them.

Along the street returning to his residence, Yang Yu listed the tasks he needed to accomplish at the library.

Currently, his primary goal was to acquire the knowledge needed to become stronger, discern the approximate location of the auction house auctioning Iyas and his brother, and ensure his safe return to his country.

The secondary goals were:

First, find Fuer Maling, collect part of his own reward, and sell him some ideas to change the world.

Second, find the Monster Tamer, get information from him, try to take on a hidden task, and follow the trail to discover the truth behind the demon disturbances, then decide whether to handle it himself or hand it over to the library.

Third, look for other hidden tasks; such a large library must have one or two hidden tasks, it wouldn’t make sense otherwise.

Fourth, participate in the so-called library conference; since he couldn’t possibly win, he should just take it as fun.

...

After listing the items one by one, Yang Yu went to bed to welcome a new day.

The next day.

The modest room remained modest. After washing his face, Yang Yu immediately prepared to execute his plan.

Outside the door, Bai Jin and Iyas had already been waiting for a long time.

Tico had sent a message. Tico’s teacher had agreed to let Bai Jin come over and learn magic with him, and Bai Jin would go to report after breakfast.

Yang Yu encouraged Bai Jin a few words and bid him farewell.

Iyas didn’t have much to do.

She remembered the words Yang Yu had spoken in the Underground Maze and wanted to see what a Human library was like and how it differed from an elf library, so she reminded Yang Yu not to forget his promise.

”That’s fine,”

Yang Yu agreed to Iyas’s request, though he was not actually curious about what the interior of the All Things Library was like.

He only wanted to immerse Iyas in the sea of knowledge, allowing her to madly dredge up strange bits of information. This would not only expand Iyas’s knowledge but also afford him plenty of time to act alone and conduct investigations.

Without delay, after parting with Bai Jin, Yang Yu immediately took Iyas to the Sky-reaching Library.

The five enormous Sky-reaching Libraries still stood towering, sparkling in the sunlight. Students eager for knowledge, facing the morning light, ascended the long steps and entered inside the Sky-reaching Library.

Since he was just coming to casually look around, Yang Yu did not investigate what kind of knowledge was stored in each of the Sky-reaching Libraries. He randomly chose one and followed a library member inside along with Iyas.

Passing through the thick glass doors, a Magic Device blocked the entrance like a ticket-checking machine, only instead of bars, it was a pale blue Magic Wall that stopped people from moving forward.

Library members swiped their Contribution Card over the sensor, and this pale blue Magic Wall momentarily disappeared, officially allowing the library members entrance to the library.

Taking out their respective cards and lightly swiping them, the pale blue Magic Wall instantly disappeared, and Yang Yu and Iyas entered the library.

Fresh air from the library greeted them, and although it seemed completely sealed, each level was equipped with advanced ventilation systems, allowing everyone who came to read to do so in a quiet and comfortable environment to quietly read and learn.
