Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 183: Chapter 183 Sorry, Having Money Means You Can Do Whatever You Want

Upon entering the room, Yang Yu heard the sound of something breaking.

The All Things Library set up a special barrier for each room to keep it clean and tidy, which would only be lifted when someone swiped their card to check in.

The quality of this room was far better than Yang Yu had imagined. It was quite spacious, with very plain decor and fully equipped with various daily necessities, without any superfluous decorations, leaving great room for customization.

Along the way, Yang Yu saw quite a few shops selling all kinds of ornaments and decorative items, presumably to provide materials for customizing these plain rooms.

Since he didn’t know how long he would stay here, Yang Yu naturally didn’t have much to tidy up. He casually found a chair and finished reading the library’s manual.

The Library had a strict knowledge level classification system, which, apart from the highest to lowest grades of SABCDEF, each grade had three subdivisions, distinguished by a letter plus a symbol, for example, Grade A included A-, A, and A+.

The Skill Atlas Yang Yu wanted to check was classified as B- level. He needed to become a One Star Library Advanced Member to access it, while the Racial Essence he was looking for was a solid A level, requiring at least three stars to be consulted.

The main way to become a Star-level Member of the Library was by accruing contribution points.

The exchange rate of contribution points and Gold Coin was one to a thousand.

One thousand Gold Coin could be exchanged for one contribution point. To become an Advanced Member of the Library, one needed ten thousand contribution points, which meant ten million. Every Star-level Member of the Library was a millionaire.

It’s just that the prices in the Library were several times or even more than ten times higher than the outside world, which diluted this feeling of wealth.

The way to accumulate contribution points was rather complicated. When Yang Yu initially asked Shu Jing about it, she chose to remain silent on the subject.

But the main sources came down to manual labor, Gold Coin exchange, and task assignments.

Gold Coin exchange goes without saying. If you have the money, rushing a few billions, the Five-star Members of the Library would open their doors for you.

Sorry, having money means you can do whatever you want.

That said, manual labor and task assignments need to be addressed.

A large workforce is needed to maintain the operation of the All Things Library, whether it’s cleaning up the streets, regularly maintaining the Library’s books, or maintaining the security of the Library and its surrounding urban areas.

There is essentially no difference between manual labor and task assignments; the differences lie in the conditions, titles, and treatment.

Like on a construction site, some people give orders around the whole structure, while others silently move bricks.

Both are working for others to earn money; the former is called a construction engineer, and the latter, a construction worker.

The All Things Library is somewhat similar to a brick-moving construction site, where ability users are numerous and can receive better treatment.

New ordinary members of the Library, who don’t understand these rules, usually rely on the Library’s daily labor tasks for contribution points, governed by the various departments, which is called ”manual labor.”

”Task assignments” are when you join a library team and display an amazing talent in some aspect, attracting the attention of upper echelons of the Library, who might appoint you as a senior member of a department or involve you in some important affairs, thereby achieving success in one leap.

For example, the Library’s law enforcement team and martial arts examiners.

In plain terms, manual labor is temp work, while task assignments are formal contract work with full benefits.

”Task assignments” require some time, not only demanding personal strength but also a bit of luck to catch the eye of a big shot.

Although he had made a notably strong impression in the previous martial arts exam, Yang Yu had no guarantee of being noticed by any big shot.

Of course, the Library was also aware of this flaw and, to give more people opportunities, would regularly hold various examinations in the hall to select excellent individuals.

These events occurred every two months, and specific times were written in the manual.

What caught Yang Yu’s attention the most was the Library’s Conference, which took place every five years, targeting all young people under twenty-three years of age. They would be selected through one-on-one combat assessments to identify the powerful.

If that year’s Library Conference coincided with the Dragon God Conference, the ranking members of the Library would also receive tickets to the Dragon God Conference.

The Dragon God Conference was two years away, and Yang Yu needed to figure out a way to secure a ticket to it within these two years. This was a good opportunity.

Unfortunately, with so many hidden dragons and crouching tigers in the Library, who knew if there were geniuses like Dian Wen or Tico. One-on-one duels, without doping, would not make it easy to achieve a ranking.

Well, there was no harm in joining the excitement. With that kind of barrier in place, there was really no worry about injury.

However, he could not wait until the Library Conference in a month and prove himself through his own strength.

A month would pass, and then considering the time to be noticed by a big shot for a task, it would take at least a year to become an Advanced Member of the Library.

Yang Yu couldn’t wait that long. Knowing about the existence of the Lux Underground Maze, he could no longer afford to spend a year farming like before.

Who knew if others had conquered the Mazes of Lux while he dawdled in the Library?

All mazes in Lux underground city guaranteed a Legendary drop; such a gospel for Africa, how could Yang Yu casually let it slip through his fingers?

Furthermore, a Monster Tamer becoming an Advanced Member of the Library had to pay a super-sized contribution value, which was impossible to accumulate just by working for others slowly.

The best move was to give all the contribution points earned by the three people to one person, who would then be responsible for looking up the information.

After much thought, Yang Yu decided that Bai Jin was still the most appropriate person for this task.

Becoming a Samsung Library Advanced Member required fifty thousand contribution points, and what needed to be figured out next was how to earn fifty thousand contribution points within this Library.

Opening the System, Yang Yu looked again to see what was worth selling inside it.

Suddenly, his gaze landed on the pulled-out books. He reopened the manual and noticed a small note on it.

”[Donating books can also earn a certain number of contribution points. The amount depends on the quality of the books. Poor quality books may be returned; please check at a designated location periodically to see if your books were returned.]”

The number of contribution points depended on the book quality, but what was the upper limit on these contribution points?

Having spotted a beacon of hope, a smile appeared on Yang Yu’s face, and he had a bold idea in mind.

As long as he could hype up the three books he had, how far could he be from becoming a Five-star Member of the All Things Library?

It’s worth noting that the text in the books could only be understood by him. If he followed the delivery method in the manual, put the books into a bag, and then dropped them into the specified box, these books would most likely be treated as ancient tomes.

The Library’s senior management, even after painstaking research, would not unravel them and eventually could only classify them as ordinary ancient books, not reaching the anticipated value.

Therefore, a face-to-face negotiation was necessary. Especially, he had to find someone who could believe his bluff, and who also had enough authority to ensure a once-and-for-all solution.
