Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 161: Chapter 161 This is Immortal Technique

Yang Yu touched the red button at the end of the passage, the bricks on the wall moved together, and a bright light shot out from the cracks, suddenly illuminating the dark corridor.

Hani Maze, Eighth Floor, sand was pervasive, and numerous weapons were deeply embedded in the sands, as if resulting from a fierce battle where countless heroes fell.

Giant golden gears adorned the walls and the ceiling, slowly rotating with a creaking sound, constantly reminding one of the passage of time.

In the center of the Eighth Floor stood a round stump, upon which was perched a red Hani holding a Guan Gong’s broadsword, its brown cloak fluttering slightly in the sandy wind.

”My name is Guan Er, who approaches, declare your name!”

These Hanis were too good at choosing names, directly adopting the prestigious ones, not only high-end and imposing, but also saving the time to think of the names.

Gazing at the imposing maze boss Hani, Yang Yu’s lips curled into a smile, and he took several steps forward, bringing his fists together in front of him, ”I have long heard of your great reputation, and I am fortunate to meet you today. My name is Yang Yu, also known as Yang Daxian, and this is my attendant, Iyas.”

”Are you a Tamer? Why have you appeared here through the path constructed by my army?” the Hani known as Guan Er questioned from atop the stump.

Yang Yu bowed respectfully to the Hani, his expression solemn, ”Your lord summoned me here, I have a matter to address, please lend me your ear, General.

You possess great talent, comparing yourself to Guan Zhong and Yue Yi, aiding your king and clearing the realm, sweeping the wastes, earning the people’s adoration, and being revered from all directions, amidst all this, a crisis looms.

Now, you are entrusted to guard this realm, diligently fulfilling your duty to the nation and its people, I indeed admire that.

However, unfortunately, by calculating, I see a bloody disaster in your future.

If you do not leave this place, it will lead to a major catastrophe.”

The chest of Hani Guan Er tightened, he asked, ”What do you mean by this? If you deceive me, do not blame me, Guan Er, for being ruthless with my blade!”

”General, calm your anger, please listen to me explain slowly.”

Yang Yu wore a sincere expression, seeing which the Hani did not doubt and listened carefully to what Yang Yu had to explain.

”General, have you recently felt disturbances beneath your feet?”

”Now that you mention it, indeed I have. Wait a moment, do you know why?”

”I am here precisely for that reason. The ground beneath you, General, is a place where darkness burgeons.

With you here, the darkness cannot ascend. Your presence here suppressing it is a great fortune for the nation.

However, if you think this will allow you to rest easy, that would be a gross misconception.

I understand the nature of this darkness, you guarding this place addresses the symptoms but not the root cause, General, you can suppress the darkness temporarily, but not forever.

The origin of the darkness is not magic, General, and though you are immune to magic, you can still be invaded and ultimately turned into a walking corpse.

General, you are unaware, many Hanis above have been infected by the darkness, controlled as tools, attacking any person in sight.

To avoid their sharp edges, I used a bit of Immortal Technique and found this way to get here.

General, you are strong and robust, and the darkness has not consumed you yet, but if you continue to stay here, one day you will become a walking corpse, turning your sword against your own lord.”

Similar to what he knew, Hani Guan Er pondered for a moment, then said in a deep voice,

”Is what you have said all true?”

Raising four fingers to the sky, Yang Yu declared confidently, ”I swear, if there is any falsehood in my words, may I be struck by five bolts of lightning from the heavens.”

”You dare to swear,” said Guan Er, ”I shall trust your words for the moment. Since the Immortal is here, you must have some method to help us escape this torment, to completely eradicate the roots of our problems.”

Guan Er gazed at Yang Yu with fiery eyes, and Yang Yu nodded slightly, his confidence unshakable,

”Only by addressing the root cause can there be peace under heaven. I have traveled far and wide learning Immortal Techniques, solely to eradicate darkness. General, if you trust me, I will personally use Immortal Techniques to eliminate the darkness for you and your subordinates, mobilizing everyone to delve deep underground and jointly fight our foes. We will utterly eradicate the darkness.

If the General is unwilling, I will not force you. Your fate, the fate of the Hani Clan, I shall never interfere in.”

After another moment of deep thought, Hani Guan Er asked with great uncertainty, ”Is Immortal Technique a kind of magic?”

”Do not worry, General. My Immortal Technique stands against the darkness, embodying the righteous energy between Heaven and Earth, not magic, and it will not be rejected by your body that possesses Magic Immunity.”

Guan Er jumped down from the stump, looking at Yang Yu with immense respect, ”I shall trust your words for now. I earnestly request that you, Immortal, remove the darkness from me and my troops.”

It’s completely exhausting, speaking in Classical Chinese is so strenuous, I can hardly keep going.

Speaking of which, doesn’t the System have a passive called Automatic Translation? What exactly did Hani say to be translated into Classical Chinese?

Or maybe that passive is just for show, merely there for adding a touch of realism?

That’s a possibility.

Suppressing a smile, Yang Yu pulled a bag of flour from the System, and said earnestly,

”This is powder ground from the stones of Immortal Techniques.”

Then, Yang Yu took out a large bucket of water from the System, ”This is water from the Immortal Spring in the Immortal Realm, transformed from millennia-old ice and then brewed with my Immortal Technique. It is colorless and tasteless, just like plain water, but please, General, do not question it, for the energy of Immortal Technique contained within it is boundless.”

Finally, Yang Yu took out a large basin, mixed the flour and water together, ”When these two elements blend in the vessel of my Immortal Technique, they become one. After applying this mixture on your face and holding the ritual for ten seconds, General, you will be completely rid of the darkness that has infiltrated you.”

With a mysterious wave of his arms, Yang Yu drew a hexagram on Hani’s face using the flour,

”To enhance efficiency. Now, I will lend some of my magic power to the General. Afterward, just apply this mud of Immortal Technique to other Hani, and have the General shout, ’You have been manipulated by darkness, now I have dispelled it, it’s time to return to the right path, united in enmity,’ and quickly free the Hani from darkness. It’s just a pity...”

Yang Yu’s hesitation prompted Hani Guan Er to urgently inquire,

”Just a pity... what?”

”Unfortunately, my Immortal Techniques ultimately have their limits. For the Hani deeply corrupted by darkness, I ultimately cannot revert fate.

When the time comes, I implore the General to harden your heart and smash them to pieces. Once we fully resolve the root cause underground, they will awaken of their own accord.

Please, General, prioritize the greater good, never allowing darkness to stain the world!”

Yang Yu’s eyes were filled with hatred for darkness as he spoke righteously.

Guan Er was moved by Yang Yu’s actions, and replied robustly,

”What the Immortal says is most just, we must eradicate this darkness from the world! Let us set out now, I want to rescue my troops, defeat the hidden enemy behind this, and I believe it will be much more interesting than being a monster in the Underground Maze.”

Damn! So you can speak normally after all? I thought I was being all eloquent and moving with my Classical Chinese, and it was all for nothing?

A wave of speechlessness overcame Yang Yu, prompting him to add a few more strokes on Hani’s face.
