Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 159: Chapter 159 I Don’t Mind Playing With It

”Ha ha ha! Come fight, adventurers!”

The pink Hani was eager to battle, vigorously waving its toy-like Sharp Spear.

”How small! It’s kind of cute,” said Iyas, looking at the Hani that was only the size of a soccer ball in the box. A tender look crossed her eyes, but she quickly concealed it. ”Uh, I mean, this must be the Hani you are looking for, right? It’s definitely special.”

It really was a slip of the tongue; do all girls like these tiny, pink things?

Yang Yu didn’t care whether Hani looked cute in Iyas’s eyes. He was only concerned about whether Hani knew about any secret passages or the whereabouts of a weapon that could counter Hani.

As a player who adhered to pragmatism, Yang Yu didn’t care for fanciness.

Suppose a very expensive piece of art concealed a key tool for passing the level. While others hesitated about whether to smash the artwork to get through, Yang Yu would have already dismantled it into pieces, happily humming a tune on his way to the next level.

If smashing this pink toy-like Hani could yield a large number of tools beneficial for passing through the levels, Yang Yu would not hesitate to smash it and even grind it into dust, scattering its ashes.

”Come on, fight! Adventurer, let me show you the prowess of a Treasure Chest Monster!” The pink Hani vigorously hopped around, continuously stabbing its Sharp Spear into the air, ”Come on, attack!”

This pink Hani’s name was Sakuragi Hanamichi, which immediately told you he was good at basketball. If you taught him to sing and dance to rap, he surely could debut as an idol. With his flashy pink appearance and unique form, he would definitely make the girls scream nonstop.

Rubbing his chin, Yang Yu smirked playfully, thinking of a way to effortlessly extract the secret from Sakuragi Hanamichi.

”I’ve never heard of a talking Treasure Chest Monster. This Treasure Chest Monster is fake, and attacking it might be dangerous. Let’s hurry up and leave!”

”Hani! Hani, Hani!”

Hearing that Yang Yu and the others were about to leave, Sakuragi Hanamichi vigorously bounced in the box, crying out in Hani’s voice, doing everything in his power to persuade them to stay.

Typically, a Treasure Chest Monster could either move with its box or had a large Attack range enabling it to lie in wait.

However, the Hani in the box didn’t possess either of those capabilities.

The box flung open suddenly, and Yang Yu and his companions had been on guard ever since that moment, maintaining a distance of at least three to five meters from the box. No matter how Sakuragi Hanamichi waved his toy-like Sharp Spear, he couldn’t reach Yang Yu.

”I can’t understand its meaning at all. Is it trapped in the Treasure Box and needs help?” Yang Yu took a few steps forward, then suddenly stopped, talking to himself in place, ”But we can’t rule out the possibility that it’s a Treasure Chest Monster!”

Sakuragi Hanamichi, thrilled, continued to wave his toy-like Sharp Spear.

”Hani, Hani!”

”But I just heard it speak human language. My ears are so good; I couldn’t have misheard. That means, it really isn’t a Treasure Chest Monster.”

Saying this, Yang Yu retreated a few steps. The excited Hani instantly looked as if it were doused with cold water, no longer waving its Sharp Spear, appearing utterly dejected and pitifully looking at Yang Yu.

It had been alone in the Treasure Box for a long time, eagerly awaiting the arrival of adventurers.

It was rare for an adventurer to come, but this adventurer thought it wasn’t a Treasure Chest Monster and wanted to leave, now it could only watch Yang Yu with its black eyes, longing for him to change his mind.

”Ordinary Treasure Chest Monsters can’t talk. Unless...” As if responding to Sakuragi Hanamichi’s expectation, Yang Yu suddenly changed his tone, ”Unless this is a special Treasure Chest Monster that tells others secrets...”

He spoke these words, then suddenly lowered his voice, pretending to murmur to himself,

”In such an Underground Maze, there might exist some tools that could significantly harm Hani, methods to navigate freely between levels, and the real Treasure Box... Generally speaking, special Treasure Chest Monsters tend to know some information.

They declare what they know before the battle, reveal a part of their knowledge during the battle, and disclose everything before the battle ends... Usually, that’s when adventurers decide to stick around and deal with those immobile Elite Treasure Box Monsters until the end.”

As soon as Yang Yu finished speaking, Sakuragi Hanamichi’s black eyes gleamed, and his laughter sounded like ringing bells,

”Ha ha ha ha ha! Adventurer, I am not just any Treasure Chest Monster! I am an Elite Treasure Box Monster! You must want to know the methods to navigate between levels or the real location of the Treasure Box. If you want to know, come and defeat me!”

Pretending to be surprised and appearing overly joyous, Yang Yu smiled faintly, ”Are you really telling the truth? I really want to know the location of the Treasure Box. If you can share that information during the battle, that would be wonderful!”

”Ha ha ha! If you want to know the whereabouts of the Treasure Box, you must defeat me! Come at me!” Sakuragi Hanamichi boasted proudly, ”As a reward for daring to battle me, during the battle, I will tell you where the secret passages that allow you to navigate between levels are located! Then, you won’t ever have to traverse the tedious Maze and can rapidly move between levels!”

”Oh ho ho, Elite Treasure Box Monsters never lie. So, there’s no choice. For the Treasure Box, we can only battle this Elite Treasure Box Monster. Iyas, get ready to fight!”

Seeing Yang Yu suddenly looking so smug, Iyas was speechless.

Yang Yu’s words were simple, but when put together, they possessed a peculiar magic power.

If she were that pink Hani, she’d likely be inadvertently entangled by Yang Yu and led by the nose.

Who exactly is this man? From a long time ago, I started to suspect that he had the Mind Reading Technique... whether it was when we first met, or when we saw Chilom in the restaurant, or now... Could he really possess the Mind Reading Technique?

”Don’t think too much, focus on the fight. After all, this is all for the treasure!”

Pulling out the sword and Shield, Yang Yu reminded Iyas, charging towards Sakuragi Hanamichi.

Sakuragi Hanamichi’s Level reached 35, and his attributes were exactly the same as the Hani on this level, but since he was playing the role of a Treasure Chest Monster and couldn’t leave the Treasure Box, he was essentially a fixed target, making him easy for Yang Yu and his companions to handle.

However, Yang Yu didn’t allow Iyas to stand in place and shoot Sakuragi Hanamichi like a target but instead actively attacked.

Since Sakuragi Hanamichi provided such important information, Yang Yu didn’t mind playing along, considering it a form of payment.
