Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 186: Chapter 186 Big Brother, Have Some Ice Cola

”Miaow miaow miaow?”

Typically, shouldn’t you have declined a bit longer before agreeing to treat me to a meal? Accepting so readily, you, the Princess of the Wang Family, really don’t know how to behave, making me think I could snag a free meal.

Watching Latis smile beamingly, Yang Yu immediately felt like he’d been schemed against.

Latis opened her folded fan, hiding her smile behind it, ”Actually, Uncle Qilom is also working as a temporary chef in this restaurant, but as you know, due to certain reasons, I can’t convince him to prepare a lavish dinner for the two of us.

It’s a rare visit here, and leaving empty-handed would surely spoil the mood, so I could only ask for your help since you’re on good terms with him. Don’t forget, after the meal, there must be dessert. You know better than anyone what Lady Tico likes to eat.”

This guy... has grown up too fast, hasn’t he?

I was at a loss for words before, but now he’s turned the tables and made it seem so logical that I have no choice but to agree.

Yang Yu sighed heavily, feeling down.

When he first saw Lady Tico, he thought he’d be hit by the plot and put on this act.

He didn’t expect this uncomfortable cloud to linger above his head; to completely free himself from this predicament, he had to make Lady Tico forget or overlook the fact that he was her fan.

Another Task had crept up on him without him realizing.

At the moment, Yang Yu’s capabilities were insufficient to transition their relationship from something to nothing, so he could only muster a forced smile,

”Since it’s for Lady Tico, I shall of course take personal charge.”

After saying this, Yang Yu instructed Bai Jin and Iyas to sit down not far from Latis, then he headed for the kitchen.

Qilom ultimately decided to sponsor the Library to become an Advanced Member, which Yang Yu found unsurprising. To prevent intellectual stagnation, it was quite necessary to accumulate certain knowledge.

Yang Yu hadn’t expected Qilom to be in this restaurant, but that was good too; he could take this opportunity to sell the Coca-Cola in his hands to Qilom.

If Qilom had the ability to replicate this flavor, Coca-Cola would surely cause an uproar in this world, once again becoming one of the beverages that shook the world.

If possible, Yang Yu also wanted to draw a few cups of bubble tea.

Bubble tea is rich in caffeine and sugar, and it has round little pearls to sip, offering triple the happiness.

Coca-Cola mainly captures the male market; bubble tea mainly captures the female market. By the time the agreement is in place, won’t I make a hefty profit?

Yang Yu wasn’t worried about failing to draw bubble tea. Such a popular item must be considered trash in the System; as long as he draws a large enough sample size, he’s bound to get some.

Surely no one makes tea with noble green tea leaves like Biluochun or Longjing?

That would indeed be too rich for my blood.

Approaching the kitchen door, Yang Yu was stopped by a waiter in black and white uniform, ”The kitchen is off-limits. Non-staff members, please leave immediately.”

Yang Yu nonchalantly pulled out two gold coins, each worth a thousand, and handed them to the waiter as a tip, smiling, ”Could you trouble yourself, sir, to notify Mr. Qilom that a person named Yang Yu has brought back something from the Underground Maze, and ask if he might be interested?”

Feeling the weighty gold coins in his hand and just needing to deliver a message, the waiter found no reason to refuse, ”Alright, I’ll go inform him. But if Mr. Qilom does not wish to see you, please return to your seat.”

”Mhm, thank you for your trouble.”

Watching the chef leave, Yang Yu placed two items from the System onto the side table, one was the best pastime for relieving stress, and the other was a deep brown, magical drink that could make countless people addicted.

After waiting for a moment, a imposing middle-aged man abruptly opened the door and glanced around, his gaze quickly landing on Yang Yu. He strode over in haste and asked without preamble,

”Did you make another trip to the Underground Maze? Any new discoveries?”

”Indeed, the two items on the table.” Yang Yu pointed to the gum and cola on the table, ”The first one looks like an insignificant little thing, something you chew in your mouth to savor the flavor.

As for the second item, it’s quite intriguing. It’s a drink, similar to tea, yet it has an incredible and captivating taste. As for how it actually is, I’ll leave it to Mr. Qilom to taste for himself.”

”Then, I won’t stand on ceremony.”

Qilom, despite his elegant appearance, had an impatient nature and couldn’t wait to reach for the cola by Yang Yu’s hand, which Yang Yu promptly stopped him from taking,

”Mr. Qilom, there’s no need to rush. This drink is best served with ice, and I presume it’s not too difficult to find a cup and some ice cubes here.

Before that, let’s discuss the contract. As you know, I couldn’t possibly provide these items for free. They are not as simple as you might think.

I’m here, and I assume you know how I got in.”

”Hm? Is there anything strange with you being here?” Mr. Qilom looked perplexed, ”Isn’t it possible to enter the Library and become a member with a sponsorship? I just gave you five million, and you could easily gather another over ten million. Couldn’t you just become a Library member through sponsorship?”

...

Is this what they call the life of the rich? Talking as if it’s easy for me to cough up another ten million plus.

Yang Yu suddenly felt speechless, having toiled away in the underground city to retrieve the Task tools, while Qilom could effortlessly become a Library member just by tossing over tens of millions. What kind of logic was that?

”Let’s not talk about that for now. In short, it was with great difficulty that I acquired these two items.

Perhaps, to others, these are just ordinary and novel items, but, I know that in Mr. Qilom’s eyes, they must be priceless treasures.

But don’t take my word for it, please have Sirrom taste them. As for how much you’re willing to pay, that’s up to you to decide.”

Qilom slowly withdrew his hand and looked towards a waiter who was serving dishes,

”You, go to the kitchen and get two cups, and bring some ice cubes.”

The waiter looked around and pointed at himself, seeking confirmation.

”What are you waiting for? Go get them now!”

Upon hearing Qilom’s thunderous voice, the waiter immediately scuttled off to the kitchen, returning with two stemmed glasses and a small plate of ice cubes. He placed them near the table where Yang Yu sat, then carefully retreated, his eyes full of respect for Qilom.

Picking up a few ice cubes and placing them in a stemmed glass, Yang Yu gently twisted open the bottle cap of the cola, a familiar hiss and the bubbling sound of the fizz, along with the wafting aroma, had him involuntarily swallowing saliva.

This bottle of cola was a 500ml regular bottle, just enough to fill the stemmed glasses that the waiter brought out.

Pouring the cola into the glass with ice, the foam, carrying the color of the cola, disturbed the ice cubes, creating a subtle sound of ice hitting glass.

The glass wasn’t filled to the brim, only halfway, and Yang Yu gently pushed the stemmed glass towards Qilom, offering a slight smile,

”Mr. Qilom, enjoy the iced Coke.”
