Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 176: Chapter 176: Overwhelming Power

”I need to control my strength more carefully,” Yang Yu remarked.

Standing in the center of the Hani King, Yang Yu suddenly became the human pillar of ”Shadow of Hani King.”

Before leaving Hani Village, the Hani King had enthusiastically taught Yang Yu how to use the ”Shadow of Hani King.”

Thus, even though it was his first time operating it, Yang Yu could control the ”Shadow of Hani King” as skillfully as a seasoned pilot.

The interior of the ”Shadow of Hani King” wasn’t dark at all, contrary to what one might expect; it was quite bright. From the outside, one could only see the solid, smooth body of Hani, but from the inside, one could clearly see everything outside.

For instance, Dian Wen, who continually used large-scale destructive magic, had each of his spells precisely hit the ”Shadow of Hani King,” only to slide off its smooth surface like water off a duck’s back, causing no damage whatsoever.

For instance, Tiya Luo, always composed and spirited, tried several spells, but after realizing they were futile, he became somewhat at a loss and chose to watch from the sidelines.

And for instance, the spectators who had always thought Yang Yu was courting death were now staring wide-eyed, their eyeballs almost popping out of their sockets,

”Damn, can it really be played like this?”

Magic struck Hani, who remained unshaken, while Hani could eliminate an examiner with a single move.

The eventual outcome was clear to everyone present.

Faced with an opponent of unlimited magic resistance, a vast gap in power, and towering stature, the examiners stood no chance. What awaited them was like a fate of being swatted like mosquitoes.

This couldn’t really be called a battle or even a test.

It was simply a massacre, a one-sided onslaught.

And it was the kind that didn’t even offer the courtesy of preserving face.

You Library folks have always been bullying Monster Tamers, right? Today, it’s my turn as a Monster Tamer to bully you!

Waving the scepter and releasing golden circular light waves from his mouth, the immense ”Shadow of Hani King” then slammed two examiners against the barrier, instantly eliminating them.

Four examiners were left on the field, including Dian Wen, who tirelessly attacked with different magic, and Tiya Luo, who pondered how to explain the situation to the Elder Council.

Indeed, Tiya Luo, one of the Monster Tamer examination officers and a supervisor, had completely given up fighting.

He personally realized the trait of this kind of demon—no magic worked against it.

Using magic to attack was just a waste of effort; one might as well think of a way to lose gracefully.

Interestingly, the two filler examiners exchanged looks, thinking just that.

If even the two bigshots couldn’t do anything, how could they possibly shake this great mountain before them?

They glanced at the ”Shadow of Hani King,” continuing to wave Hani’s scepter, then at the other examiners lying on the ground, and hatched a plan.

”Fireball Technique! Oops! I accidentally shot in the wrong direction! Quick, dodge!”

”Frost Ice Arrow! Oops! No, my shot can’t be off! This must be a skill of this Hani King! Quick, dodge!”

In the blink of an eye, the magic of the two examiners shifted next to the ”Shadow of Hani King,” hitting each other instead. Simultaneously like kites with their strings cut, they fell, continually striking themselves with invisible magic. As they hit the ground, both were eliminated amidst a flash of golden light.

Such sly tricks might work on kids just learning magic, but Tiya Luo, who had been studying magic for nearly thirty years, couldn’t possibly be fooled by such tricks, yet he didn’t overtly expose them, only heaving a deep sigh.

It had been such despair facing an opponent who was absolutely invincible. Tiya Luo understood now, the expression his opponents had when they first heard they were up against him. Could this also be considered giving them a taste of their own medicine?

Tiya Luo couldn’t help but mock himself.

As he used the Flame Magic Impact on the smooth Shadow of Hani King, Dian Wen attempted to use the high temperature to make Yang Yu and his team, who were hiding within the Shadow of Hani King, suffer from the heat and dispel the Shadow of Hani King.

For this, he even wanted to set the cloak behind Hani on fire to create a larger flame.

However, no matter how he used the Flame Magic, he couldn’t ignite the cloak behind Hani.

The scepter, King’s hat, and cloak, these iconic tools had long become a part of Hani King, merged with him, and also possessed Magic Immunity.

Before Dian Wen could react, Hani King suddenly turned around and released the Hani Light Wave.

The golden ring-shaped light wave bombarded Dian Wen’s fragile nerves, causing his attempts to dodge to slow down by several beats.

And that was enough for Yang Yu, controlling the enormous scepter, to strike him with a ferocity like a home run, slamming Dian Wen mercilessly against the Barrier.

The White Shield on Dian Wen’s body did not disappear; he could still fight.

But as the saying goes, if you survive a great disaster, you are bound to face a final blow.

Unless necessary, Yang Yu certainly would not be merciful.

Controlling the enormous Shadow of Hani King, Yang Yu drove the long and thick end of the scepter towards Dian Wen’s abdomen.

Dian Wen saw stars, his stomach churned, and finally, he fell to the ground, curled up, and couldn’t help but question his life choices.

Finally, only Tiya Luo remained on the duel platform.

The entire process, from beginning to end, took no more than three minutes.

The nine examiners, who initially were enthusiastic, now had only one thought, ”MMP.”

Giving up on using the useless Flying Magic, Tiya Luo landed on the ground, clapped his hands together, and laughed loudly,

”To think of such a method, you really are a talent, TND. Hani is innately our Magicians’ nemesis, even if the entire Elder Council were here, I guess they’d have no way to handle you. I admit you’ve passed, stop now!”

The examiners lying on the ground heard this and rolled their eyes, thinking ’If you knew he was so formidable, why not declare it earlier instead of waiting until we all were defeated.’

However, the Shadow of Hani King acted as if it hadn’t heard Tiya Luo’s voice, positioned the scepter above Tiya Luo’s head, and gently tapped, once, twice, thrice... until the White Shield on Tiya Luo’s Blood Bar disappeared and a flash of gold announced Tiya Luo’s defeat. Only then did the Shadow of Hani King cease its actions and retract the scepter.

”Hani!”

The loud Hani sound echoed through the venue, and the Shadow of Hani King, as if it had completed its mission, completely disappeared, as if it had never existed, leaving no trace behind.

A small white Hani doll fell from the center of the Shadow of Hani King, caught steadily by Yang Yu.

The fine lines on the tiny Hani doll expanded, then cracked open a slit. The tool hadn’t completely shattered but largely maintained the appearance of Hani.

There was still time left, perhaps it could be patched up and used again in the future, or if not, it could serve as a keepsake.

Thinking this, Yang Yu casually tossed the used Shadow of Hani King into the System, then looked towards Tiya Luo who was rubbing his head on the side, dazed and bewildered from the knocks to his head.
