Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Are you thinking about peach?

After signing the agreement and settling everything, Mr. Chilom grandly instructed his company members to hand over five million to Yang Yu.

He tightly clutched the hefty bag of Gold Coin and glanced at the soaring numbers on his system, struggling to restrain himself from bursting into laughter.

This deal was even more of a windfall than getting something for nothing.

Yang Yu could already imagine Lao Ganma or other profound Chinese Cuisine blossoming everywhere in this world.

At night, a lord who diligently managed his territory would return home, where maid after maid would bring out exquisite dishes to the table; and when unveiled—Lao Ganma, stinky tofu, marinated eggs, roast duck—each presented in a manner too expensive for others to afford.

Biting into that stinky tofu, juice would flow everywhere, its fragrance filling the air.

The lord could not help but exclaim, ”Delicious, delicious.”

It achieved a true blend of elegance and popular appeal.

Yang Yu could hardly wait to draw some pieces of stinky tofu and give them to Chilom. After all, stinky tofu would surely be categorized as a junk prize, and with his luck, as long as he drew a sufficient quantity, he was bound to get some.

”Let’s conclude for today, Mr. Chilom. It was really delightful talking with you. I have some things to take care of and will not disturb you any further.”

Saying this polite remark, Yang Yu stood up.

The money issue had been resolved; what remained was to take Bai Jin to sign up, then have her study diligently until the entrance exam started.

”I won’t see you out. Remember our agreement, once you find food from the Otherworld, come find me immediately, or contact my company to send them over.”

Mr. Chilom rubbed his hands together, eager to attempt making the items Yang Yu had just described.

However, he had hardly stood up when a bodyguard quickly approached him and whispered something in his ear.

Mr. Chilom furrowed his brow. ”Just tell her I’m busy today and can’t meet.”

The bodyguard displayed an expression of difficulty; under normal circumstances, he would have relayed Chilom’s words, but today’s visitor was no ordinary person.

”Lord Chilom, I think it might not be very nice to leave someone hanging like this. After all, the visitor is from the Royal Family.”

”I said no! Can’t you see I’m busy heading to the kitchen!” Chilom shouted. ”Go and turn her away.”

No sooner had Chilom finished speaking than the tightly closed doors of the dining room slowly opened. The afternoon sunlight streamed through the doorway, extending the silhouette of a graceful young girl.

Almost everyone’s gaze was stolen by her figure.

Her fluffy auburn hair draped over her pristine shoulders, and she wore a red evening gown adorned with various delicate ribbons, her eyes sparkling like rubies in the backlight.

She held a folded fan in her hand, now opened to cover her delicate lips.

”Uncle Chilom, I heard everything you just said. It’s rare for me to visit, yet you leave me outside handling other guests... and even after finishing with them, you still don’t plan to see me? That doesn’t seem very polite, does it?”

Out of curiosity, Yang Yu quickly glanced at the attribute panel.

As the sole top chef of the Luoze Empire, it wasn’t surprising that Chilom had connections with the Royal Family.

Lady Latis’s gaze swept over Yang Yu and Iyas, ultimately settling on the expressionless Chilom.

Chilom sighed deeply, ”Third Princess Latis, long time no see. What brings you here?”

As if in her own home, Latis walked into the restaurant, ”Uncle Chilom, there’s no need for such formality. You’ve taken great care of me in the past, just call me Lady Latis as before.”

”I wouldn’t dare. You are the lofty Third Princess, and I’m just a humble chef. And please, stop calling me Uncle Grom, just refer to me as Mr. Chilom.”

”Mr. Chilom... uncle, I won’t say more.” Calling Chilom ’uncle’ once again, Latis made her purpose clear, ”Today, I came here to invite you to my residence. As a citizen of the Luoze Empire, you should at least visit the official residency of your own country, right?”

”If everyone in the Luoze Empire visited you, I doubt you could handle it. Some people not visiting might actually be sparing you some trouble.”

Latis was clearly trying to butter him up, but Chilom didn’t seem too fond of her.

Interesting, there must have been something between these two.

Yang Yu loved a good confrontation, and he wished he could grab a stool, eat some popcorn, and excitedly shout ”666” while watching.

But just as Yang Yu thought to stop and watch, Latis’s gaze fell on him again.

It was as if she was seeking help.

Did the princess think that just because I could get along well with Chilom, I could also mediate her relationship with him?

No. I mean, Princess, you’ve been watching for so long, and no task has popped up on my system. Do you think because you are the princess, assisting you should be considered a great honor and thus you refuse to give me a reward?

After having the system for quite some time, Yang Yu had figured out a lot about the system’s task issuing peculiarities.

Tasks generally fell into two categories: system-issued tasks and NPC-provided tasks.

System tasks appeared as long as conditions were met and rewards were automatically credited with a simple click after completion.

NPC tasks had to be accepted from and submitted to NPCs, and since NPCs behaved like real people, there was substantial freedom, even a risk of punishment from the system if one secured an advance in payment from NPCs.

Yang Yu hadn’t tried bargaining with NPCs yet.

From his experience, accepting an NPC task required a crucial precondition: ”If you can satisfy a certain condition, I’ll give you a certain reward.”

Meaning if an NPC didn’t want to give a reward or couldn’t actually provide one, there were no tasks available.

Accordingly, it made sense why Yang Yu hadn’t received tasks from Bai Jin and Iyas.

When Yang Yu met them, they were financially distressed and had nothing to offer him, not unless they were to offer themselves!

Though now, there wasn’t much difference in that, was there?

But they were them. For you, a princess of a nation, to expect my help for free was crossing the line. I’m telling you, you’re just daydreaming.

If you want my help, at least show some sincerity. I’m not asking for much, one or two million should be within your reach, right?

Disdaining Latis’s expectation that the horse should run without eating grass, Yang Yu decided not to keep watching and started walking towards the door.

Just then, a huge blue mage hat appeared from the other side of the door, and a silver-haired girl slowly peeked out.
