Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 103: Chapter 103: The Guest Becomes the Host

”They all said it was just an illusion, it’s not something I can control.”

Despite being seen in its true form, Scarjade still decided stubbornly to deny everything,

”Rather than that, continue answering my questions. If you can answer all of them, I will give you a special reward.”

”So, you still don’t plan on letting them touch it? Girls really like fuzzy creatures.”

Scarjade couldn’t resist and shouted, ”You just said to let them look! Why suddenly change to touching! You’re going too far!”

After shouting, Scarjade suddenly realized it had been tricked by Yang Yu again, and its blue eyes filled with resentment.

Taunting the maze boss like this, was he really not afraid of dying? Or did he already fully understand my role and knew that I now couldn’t lay a hand on him?

”Forget it...concerning my true form, I hope you can keep it a secret. Now, can you start answering my second question? Similarly, if you fail to answer, you must accept punishment.”

Seeing an opportunity to secure an advantage, Yang Yu agreed, ”Ask whatever you want! With a reliable teammate now, ordinary questions are not difficult for us.”

”The only time you can be proud is now. For the next question, you only have five minutes to think, and if the answer isn’t given within five minutes, it will be considered a failure. Please listen to the question.”

Scarjade’s voice echoed again in the empty ”cave,” and Iyas and Bai Jin, led by Yang Yu’s pace, stopped trembling and listened intently to Scarjade’s question.

”In the Eden Garden created by God, there live angels, unicorns, and beautifully dancing butterflies, totaling two hundred fifty-three, with a total of eight hundred ninety feet and six hundred twenty-six feathers. How many are angels, unicorns, and beautiful dancing butterflies respectively?”

This was the question Scarjade was the proudest of; even if someone managed to barely answer the first question correctly, they would be eliminated for not being able to find the correct answer to this question within five minutes.

Look, even the young man who could answer the first question at once would only stare blankly at this question, and then, he would pick up paper and pen to write his will...

Wait, he should be calculating, but with only five minutes, what could he calculate.

”Angels one hundred twenty-one, unicorns seventy-two, butterflies sixty.”

”What?” Scarjade opened his eyes wide in disbelief, as Yang Yu gave the correct answer in less than three minutes, ”That’s impossible. How could you calculate the answer to this question so quickly?”

Because I received a good nine-year compulsory education.

Isn’t it just solving a system of linear equations? That’s no big deal.

If you are capable, ask a quadratic equation in two variables, I can solve that too.

If you throw in third or fourth-degree equations, add some Fourier or whatever, then I won’t be able to solve it. I completely flunked advanced mathematics in university.

Of course, Yang Yu wouldn’t say this, and just casually flipped his hair, ”Your question is too simple. It’s not challenging at all. You call this the ’Hall of Wisdom’?”

How about after you ask your questions, I ask you some too?

If you can’t answer my questions, you’ll need to explain some doubts to me. A little cat like you must know a lot of information.”

Scarjade was speechless for a while. The man before it wanted to turn the tables so quickly; Scarjade had never seen such a shameless person.

”The only time you get to be proud is now. Let’s see if you can answer this question!”

”Don’t try to change the subject if you don’t express your stance, I will take it as your default answer. Don’t worry, the questions I ask are very simple, even seven or eight-year-olds can answer them. I’ve answered questions that most people can’t, and you are telling me you’re afraid to answer questions that even a child can answer. You must be a coward.

Forget it, forget it. If you’re scared, you’re scared. I can’t force you.”

Yang Yu said this, his face showing an extremely disdainful smile.

Scarjade saw this and thought, this really can’t go on.

Although I’m just a cat, I am still a hidden boss of the maze and also the Guardian of the Hall of Wisdom. I couldn’t be stumped by questions that even a seven or eight-year-old could answer, could I?

”Hmm—if you really can answer my question correctly, as you said, it might be possible. Listen carefully, this is my third question, and also the last one. It’s a real-time question.

Assume, you flip a fair coin and it shows heads ninety-nine times in a row, and the hundredth time shows tails. If you continue to throw this coin, what will appear next time?”

Yang Yu snickered, ”You don’t have any challenging questions left, do you?”

”Just honestly answer my question, and afterward, I will also answer your questions,” said Yang Yu, whose malicious smile made Scarjade’s hair stand on end. ”Quickly tell me, is it heads or tails?”

Yang Yu took a step forward.

”Why are you suddenly coming over here!”

”How can you hear my answer if I don’t get closer?”

”You! You! Don’t come over! Just tell me the answer from there!”

Scarjade stepped back, its blue eyes fixed on every move Yang Yu made. Despite being several hundred times smaller than itself, there was a reason for it to feel afraid of him.

It felt as if someone had seen through it entirely, chilling it to the bone, making it desperately want to avoid.

”Don’t be nervous, little cat. You are the guardian of the maze; I won’t harm you. I really just want to make sure you can hear me clearly.”

”I can hear well! Just answer me from there!” Scarjade hurriedly tried to stop Yang Yu from coming closer.

No matter if it had any effect, Yang Yu stopped. He took a coin from the System, tossed it high into the air, caught it, then held the coin between his index finger and thumb, and slowly began:

”The answer to your question is fifty-fifty. It could be either heads or tails, and the probability is the same. So, no matter whether the answer is heads or tails, you would claim I was wrong.

It’s really a classic misdirection, presenting two options to make one choose, thus making them overlook a third possible option.

I wonder if my answer matches what you were thinking.”

Watching Yang Yu stare at him like prey, Scarjade could only helplessly admit defeat.

”Absolutely correct.”

But after Scarjade said this, it suddenly realized that its nightmare was just beginning. Yang Yu’s eerie smile made its heart panic.

”So, little kitten, now it’s my turn to ask the questions. If you can’t answer, don’t forget our agreement between the two of us.”
