The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 538: Chapter 538: Nathalie: I’m Poor But I Can Afford a Lawyer_1

At this point, Myles Sullivan had no choice but to pull rank as an uncle.

In a soft voice, he said, ”Alright, I’ll make one more concession. I’ll find a way to let Freddy Cagwin continue his schooling without affecting his university prospects, and the compensation I mentioned earlier still stands. I’ll also pull some strings to get his father into a top hospital in Beijing for treatment. If it’s possible to get Professor Adelle to treat his father, I’ll try my best to arrange it. If Professor Adelle isn’t available, I’ll find another top specialist for his father. In any case, I’ll do everything I can to help his father seek treatment... What do you think of this?”

He believed his terms were quite attractive.

One million, plus treatment at the best hospital in Beijing by top specialists, all were things Freddy Cagwin wouldn’t likely come into contact with in his entire life.

As for Nathalie Quinlan...

Myles Sullivan’s gaze turned complex as he looked at the girl sitting opposite him. She sat there boldly and casually, seemingly sloppy and disrespectful. Aside from the pretty and delicate face visible beneath the brim of her hat, there was nothing that set her apart from any ordinary girl.

Yet this incident had completely changed his perception of Nathalie Quinlan...

He unconsciously gripped his cup tighter, his eyes shimmering as he remembered the phone call Juan Wilmar had received before he left the house, and a knot tightens in his stomach.

Juan Wilmar was expelled from her school last night.

And today, a phone call came in saying that there would be an investigation into the matter, and that Juan Wilmar was suspected of regulatory violations. Besides investigating the incident, there would also be an investigation into Juan Wilmar himself.

If they were looking into a person, it wasn’t as simple as individual disciplinary actions.

It was clear that Juan Wilmar had managed to offend someone!

Now, he couldn’t quite understand the extent of power behind Nathalie Quinlan—there was Mr. Yapiter, and there was that person from the Yancey Family, both of these influential figures had intervened in the matter involving Jecksen Wilmar.

He was confused whether these two were contacts of the well-connected elder from the Zachmann Family or, as Juan Wilmar had suggested, it seemed that Mr. Yapiter was not brought in by the Zachmann Family but knew Nathalie herself!

The former, he could somewhat believe.

The latter possibility seemed too bizarre, and he was somewhat skeptical.

If both Owen Yapiter and Amadeus Yancey had stepped forward for Nathalie Quinlan, then his original decision to choose Ghania Quinlan over Nathalie would make him seem like a fool!

Myles Sullivan didn’t want to delve deeper, attempting to emotionally blackmail Nathalie by speaking gently, ”Nathalie, I’m giving these considerations precisely because he’s your friend. Continuing this dispute would not be good for anyone, don’t you think?”

”Are you done?”

Nathalie Quinlan took a sip of her lemon water, set down the glass, picked up her belongings, stood up, and said to him, ”Uncle Sullivan, since you’ve come to me, it means you’ve seen Jecksen Wilmar’s documents. I’m considering making a concession out of respect for you. If you still think that Jecksen Wilmar is at a disadvantage, I can walk the legal route with Freddy Cagwin. As for the money you mentioned... Freddy Cagwin may not have money, but I have some, and it’s enough to cover a lawyer for the lawsuit!”

If Alfred Garland were here, he would not be able to resist chiming in—’Boss, you sold a single small pill to the young lady for nearly an eight-figure sum; do you call that a ’little’ money? Your ’little’ money could probably bankrupt the Wilmar Family, at least Raymond Wilmar and Ivy Wilmar! And not to mention Amadeus has your back, bankruptcy’s probably just scratching the surface. Jecksen Wilmar will still have to roll around in a frying pan, and whether he gets out with his life, that’s another question!’

Unfortunately, Alfred Garland wasn’t there, and no one said anything.

Nathalie Quinlan wasn’t going to tell Myles Sullivan any of this either.
