The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 514: Chapter 514: Maybe, Under Great Performance Pressure_1

He couldn’t help but laugh and said, ”Advertisers are really dedicated these days, not forgetting to push for performance late at night.”

Nathalie Quinlan saw the area code on the display and knew it wasn’t a McKinney local number. Her pupils darkened, and she pursed her lips in annoyance, saying absentmindedly, ”Maybe that’s it, the pressure to perform must be high.”

”Amadeus, Ms. Quinlan isn’t taking your calls?” Inside a Hongqi car in Beijing, Alfred Garland twisted around from the front to look at the man sitting in the back.

Amadeus Yancey didn’t know he had just been dismissed as ’someone under a lot of performance pressure.’ At the moment, he pursed his lips and slowly put the phone down, looked at the call that had been ruthlessly disconnected, and said nothing.

However, the feeling of Amadeus being hung up on was quite a thrill!

Alfred Garland could only dare to think about it; as soon as Amadeus glanced over, he immediately restrained his schadenfreude expression and said sincerely, ”Amadeus, why don’t you try calling Ms. Quinlan again? If you call a few more times, she might pick up.”

Of course, there was another possibility: Nathalie Quinlan was annoyed and had directly blacklisted him.

Amadeus Yancey obviously considered this second possibility; he half-squinted his eyes and handed the phone back to him: ”Forget it, it’s late; she might want to rest. Let’s call her again tomorrow.”

Alfred Garland silently took the phone from his hand, really wanting to say, If you’re really worried about Ms. Quinlan, another call wouldn’t hurt.

The words were on the tip of his tongue, but he swallowed them, pondering before saying, ”Anyway, Simon Cadwell said Ms. Quinlan has already been picked up by Mr. Yapiter. With Mr. Yapiter there, you don’t have to worry about her safety for now. It’s the Wilmar family matter... How do you plan to handle that?”

They had already arrived outside the Wilmar Family’s residence; all that was left was to go in.

Amadeus would find it difficult to handle the situation before receiving the document Ms. Quinlan was supposed to send. Without her being in the right, the Wilmar family would probably not be willing to reconcile.

But with Amadeus stepping in, the Wilmar family might give some face; the way of reconciliation was just a bit frustrating.

Following Amadeus Yancey for many years, Alfred Garland had never seen Amadeus bow to anyone. Although this was for Ms. Quinlan and there was no other choice, he felt somewhat unwilling.

Now his perspective had completely changed.

Ms. Quinlan had gripping leverage on Jecksen Wilmar; just revealing one could make the Wilmar family extremely uncomfortable.

The situation had completely turned around. Now wasn’t it about what they wanted from the Wilmar family rather than the other way around?

If Amadeus wanted to ruin Jecksen Wilmar today, the Wilmar family would have no choice but to grind their teeth and swallow their pride.

Thus, Alfred Garland was quite excited at the moment, eager to go in and thoroughly enjoy the expression of the famously protective and formidable Young Lady of the Wilmar Family.

Amadeus Yancey had intended to call Nathalie Quinlan for her opinion, but the call didn’t go through; his gaze grew deep, his fingers lightly tapping on his knee as he half-squinted, seemingly pondering the situation.

”Let’s show them the item first; as for where it will end up, that depends on their attitude afterwards.”

He remembered Juan Wilmar had cancelled Nathalie Quinlan’s school registration, using his authority. He also heard that not long ago, Raymond Wilmar left Mr. Zachmann, who came to plead, hanging for two hours without meeting him, showing extreme arrogance.

The Wilmar family acted without leaving any room for a turnaround, and he was curious to see how they planned to resolve this.
