The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 512: Chapter 512: You think you’re on the fifth floor, Nathalie’s in the stratosphere!_1

”What are you talking about favors for? Haven’t I said that we don’t need to concern ourselves with these things? Bringing them up only makes things awkward.”

Owen Yapiter knew that she was someone who disliked owing anyone anything, especially when it came to favors. Conversely, she didn’t mind and never fussed if someone owed her.

”You really mustn’t give me any more of those small pills, I haven’t even finished the ones you gave me last time. I’ll let you know once I’ve finished them,” she said.

”...” Nathalie Quinlan was somewhat helpless; she hadn’t mentioned giving him small pills as a form of compensation, but indeed, she had thought about it!

Owen Yapiter seemed to know what she was thinking beneath her lifted eyelids and said with a smile, ”I know you didn’t say it, but I guessed that’s what you were thinking.”

He paused and then said, ”All I did was make a trip, it’s not a big deal. Even if you offered, I would feel embarrassed to accept such a valuable gift from you. If you really want to thank me, you can treat me to a meal at Waterfront Pavilion someday.”

He said half-jokingly and teasingly, ”It’s not easy to get a reservation at Waterfront Pavilion, and without you, the owner, I haven’t been there for a long time. I kind of miss the chef’s cooking at Waterfront Pavilion.”

The Yapiter Family’s driver, who had been driving the car in front, had perked up his ears to catch some gossip, mainly curious about the relationship between the two. When he heard this, his foot on the accelerator trembled, almost flooring it. Fortunately, his quick reflexes prevented a major disaster!

As his startled heart gradually calmed down, his look at Nathalie Quinlan through the rearview mirror grew much more complicated.

How old was this girl?

Judging by her looks, she couldn’t be more than 18 or 19, clearly still a student.

He had just accompanied Mr. Yapiter to the police station to pick someone up and thought the other party was a spoiled rich kid who didn’t study properly and liked to cause trouble outside.

Now he was a bit dumbfounded.

The Yapiter Family was based in the next city, not in McKinney, but as he had been driving Owen Yapiter around for years, often accompanying him on trips, how could he not know about Waterfront Pavilion?

Waterfront Pavilion was a private restaurant specializing in Cantonese cuisine, renowned for its delicious food and elegant environment, where getting a reservation was difficult.

It was famous even in the neighboring city.

Many people would drive over just to have a meal at Waterfront, which showed how prominent the reputation of Waterfront Pavilion was in the vicinity.

It was said that the person behind Waterfront Pavilion had a close relationship with Pinecone Group. He had assumed it would be some middle-aged man in his forties, but to his surprise... the famed owner behind Waterfront Pavilion turned out to be an 18-year-old high school student!

Indeed, this world was too fantastical.

You think you’re on the fifth floor, but the other person is up in the stratosphere, way out of your reach!

Nathalie Quinlan, however, hadn’t noticed the driver’s reaction. With the car’s air conditioner on full blast, she felt a bit stuffy and, after seeking Owen Yapiter’s opinion, she rolled down the car window one-third of the way to let in some fresh air.

With fresh air circulating, her drowsiness faded slightly. Without much thought, she nodded and said, ”Alright, just tell me whenever you want to go.”

”Then it’s a plan,” he replied.

After his moment of joy, Owen Yapiter remembered something else, ”By the way, why did you hit Jecksen Wilmar?”

He had received a text message from Nathalie Quinlan and immediately had someone check what happened.

And he was shocked by what he dug up.

Nathalie Quinlan had actually hit Jecksen Wilmar!

This was no small matter.

Raymond Wilmar was notoriously meticulous, and Jecksen Wilmar was his cherished son, born when he was over thirty, treasured like the pearl produced by an old clam.

Hitting Jecksen Wilmar meant that the Wilmar Family would not let it go easily.
