The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 523: Chapter 523: Waiting for Nathalie’s Misfortune_1

Her sensible behavior did make Myles Sullivan’s face color improved slightly; he raised his hand, dismissing her with a wave, ”Go on, be careful, don’t stay out too late, and remember to give your mom a call.”

”Okay,” Ghania Quinlan agreed cheerfully.

Just before she left, she took one last glance at the man sitting opposite Myles Sullivan. Juan Wilmar seemed to exude an extraordinary presence, evidently not an ordinary person.

Her mind swiftly recalled the conversation she had inadvertently overheard, and her red lips couldn’t help but curl up.

It was Nathalie again.

It seemed that this time Nathalie was in for big trouble!

She walked out with a light step, not forgetting to bring the door with her as she left.

What she didn’t hear, after she left, were Juan Wilmar’s fraught words.

”I didn’t expect this Nathalie Quinlan to have such a deep background; she actually knows Mr. Yapiter! You didn’t see the way he came to pick her up last night, it was clear he was on her side, with a relationship that’s no ordinary. Moreover, I heard from the police station this morning that someone bailed out Freddy Cagwin last night. I asked them who did it, and not a single person dared to tell me... Myles, Nathalie is your niece, you’re familiar with her, do you know what kind of background she has? I’ve never heard of such a person in McKinney before.”

Myles Sullivan felt as if his throat was being squeezed; he couldn’t utter a word.

He usually spent most of his time in Beijing and rarely returned to McKinney. Initially, he knew about the origins of his sister’s ’daughter’ and only occasionally came back. Although he didn’t treat this convenient niece differently, he never really paid her any attention. How could he know anything about Nathalie under such circumstances?!

Seeing him silent for a long time, Juan Wilmar anxiously gulped down two mouthfuls of tea, his face anxious, his brows furrowed tightly, and he said in a heavy voice, ”You don’t know, but I have a feeling that this time we’re going to take a fall! I didn’t sleep at all last night, and the higher-ups have also started to intervene in this matter. If we don’t settle this quickly, the situation is going to turn around!”

He looked at Myles Sullivan and spoke thoughtfully, ”I’ve spoken to Ivy Wilmar, but she won’t listen. Maybe you can have a word with her, tell her to let go of this matter. Enough is enough! We know the type of person Jecksen Wilmar is; no one would attack him for no reason. He must have done something to deserve it. We’ve already revoked Nathalie’s school registration, just let her compensate Jecksen a bit of money, and that should be enough. We can save face and not make things too ugly... As for Mr. Yapiter...”

Besides fearing Owen Yapiter, the big Buddha from the top, he was also worried about the person who bailed out Freddy Cagwin last night.

With his status, McKinney was his half-territory; no one would dare not give him face. He said as much that morning, yet no one dared to disclose the identity of the other party to him.

What did that imply?

It goes without saying!

The person must be someone who stands at the very top of the Pyramid, someone who could crush him by merely lifting a finger, hence no one dared to speak!

Myles Sullivan patiently listened to him finish speaking, noticing that he was restless, even attempting to stand up several times.

Hearing this, he pressed his lips together, his deep-set eyes revealing exhaustion. He met Juan Wilmar’s gaze, his own even heavier, and said, ”The situation has already turned around!”

Juan Wilmar: ”...”

Myles Sullivan didn’t know how to explain the situation in Beijing to him, because he himself was unaware of what leverage Amadeus Yancey held over Jecksen. He vaguely revealed, ”The Yancey Family’s person has stepped in!”

”Are you talking about Amadeus?!” Juan Wilmar bolted up from the Sofa, his complexion turning ashen, then he slumped back down, the whole person exuding regret, ”No wonder... No wonder those people didn’t dare tell me who bailed out Freddy Cagwin...”
