The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 518: Chapter 518: There are quite a few people to invite_1

”Tell Aunt Cagwin goodbye,” she looked down, her gaze fierce, and on second thought, she softened her words, ”Never mind, some other time. I’ll treat you to dinner another day, and you can thank the person who helped you.”

Freddy had already guessed who had helped him. As a man, he felt quite uncomfortable and somewhat embarrassed.

However, this incident had made him see, clearly, the difference between himself and Nathalie. Their disparity was not merely in social experience but many other aspects as well. Perhaps only Amadeus was more suitable to be by Nathalie’s side.

He exhaled a breath of turbid air and came to terms with a lot of things, insisting, ”No, Nathalie, I’ll be the host. I saved some money in the bank when I dropped out of school to work. It’s not a lot, but enough to invite someone for a meal. Since they helped me, I can’t let you pay for it; that wouldn’t be right...”

Nathalie knew his character; he was as stubborn as a mule and possessed extremely strong self-respect. She didn’t press Freddy, and after a moment’s thought, agreed: ”That works too.”

”But I’ll pick the place to eat; you don’t worry about that.”

Having spent a lot of time with Amadeus, she had come to understand the preferences of a certain someone—sweet flavors, a liking for Jiangsu and Zhejiang cuisine, and not much tolerance for spicy foods.

The food at Waterfront Pavilion was good, but the price was too high.

Given the personality of Freddy and Aunt Cagwin, they would never let her pay the bill no matter what. If she asked the cashier to apply a discount, it would be too obvious.

Nathalie planned to find a place nearby, moderate in price yet delectable, and invite Amadeus, Alfred, and Mr. Yapiter, who had all helped. Additionally, Simon had also expended much effort... Counting on her fingers, she realized there would be quite a few people to call.

Since she was inviting Amadeus and Alfred for dinner, it would be impossible not to include the little guy and Audrick; otherwise, given their temperamental natures, they might end up holding a grudge against her...

Nathalie pinched the edge of the table, feeling agitated.

Mrs. Ingram also helped to locate Freddy. If Mrs. Ingram returned from overseas, Nathalie would have to include her too. Suddenly, there were a lot more people to invite.

”We’ll see when the time comes. I’ll tell you once I’ve set the date,” Nathalie said, her brows furrowed, her dark eyes like splattered ink, her voice hoarse as if she had just woken up. She lowered her eyelids; her lashes were long, and when they slightly curled up, they cast a faint shadow right beneath: ”Take good care of Aunt Cagwin and tell them not to worry. I will definitely seek justice for you regarding the false accusations.”

She couldn’t let Jecksen’s issue affect Freddy’s high school examination.

Freddy was determined to take the high school exam!

Freddy appeared indifferent to all this, simply saying, ”It doesn’t matter what happens to me; just don’t let my situation affect you, Nathalie. Otherwise, my mom might kill me.”

He was serious; if he caused any trouble for Nathalie, his mom might truly disown him!

Nathalie knew the nature of Aunt Cagwin and uttered a non-committal ”hmm”, saying lightly, ”I know, goodbye.”

After finishing, she hung up the phone succinctly and checked the battery life remaining at the top of her phone. Fifty percent, not too much, not too little, barely enough.

With her mind preoccupied, Nathalie decided not to charge the phone, took it with her, opened the door, and went downstairs from her room.

Audrick had earned a considerable amount of money in the entertainment circle over the years. As one of the top stars, he had a daily schedule too busy to count, not to mention fees from dozens of brand endorsements. Just those fees alone amounted to a substantial sum.

Therefore, his investments in real estate were substantial. The villa in McKinney covered at least 300 square meters on a single floor, spread over two levels, plus an underground parking lot. It was definitely considered a villa.
