The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 516: Chapter 516: His phone call can only be considered an unimportant message at Nathalie’s place_1

She unintentionally brought up her acceptance to Tsinghua University again.

Sure enough, Myles Sullivan’s previously unapproachable face color softened, his sharp, cool eyes became much warmer than before, and he pursed his lips, suppressing the anxiety in his heart, and barely managed a smile, ”...Look at me, I was so busy that I almost forgot about this.”

Ghania Quinlan immediately seized the opportunity, reassuring him softly, ”It’s okay, I know Uncle Sullivan is busy, and besides, you already called to congratulate me at noon.”

Myles Sullivan’s face relaxed even more, seeming very pleased with her understanding manner, and after thinking for a moment, he said, ”That’s right. Your successful college admission should indeed be celebrated. You haven’t been home for over a month, and it’s only natural that your mom misses you.”

”Alright then, you’ll come back with me. Go pack your bags, we’ll leave in half an hour!”

”...Is it that urgent?”

”If you don’t want to rush, you can leave tomorrow, but then we can’t go together, you decide your own schedule.”

At this point, there were no flights from Beijing to McKinney, and since Myles Sullivan was in a hurry, he had to think of another way.

First take a flight to a city neighboring McKinney, then transfer to a flight to McKinney. That way, he could arrive in McKinney as soon as possible, but such transfers would waste a lot of time in between and would be tiring for those traveling by plane...

He was no longer concerned about these matters; what he wanted was to rush back to McKinney to clean up the mess.

After he spoke to Ghania Quinlan, his thoughts were no longer on her, nor did he offer any further praise as he had during his earlier phone call.

It was clear he was not in high spirits; after saying what he had to, he walked to one side and took out his phone, seemingly making a call to someone.

*

Myles Sullivan had made seven or eight phone calls in a row, all showing that the phone was switched off.

Meanwhile, at the McKinney villa.

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t return until almost midnight, and after she came back, she didn’t say much to Audrick Zachmann and the others before going upstairs to sleep.

She was really exhausted, and to prevent being woken up, she simply switched off her phone.

She slept through the night, oblivious to the world around her. Everyone knew she had been extremely tired that past week, so by an unspoken agreement, they didn’t wake her. When Nathalie finally woke up naturally, The Sun was already high in the sky.

It had been raining continuously in McKinney the previous few days, but today The Sun had finally come out. The weather was clear and the temperature was pleasantly warm, making people feel sleepy.

Nathalie sat up in bed and realized that sleeping too long resulted in a headache, worse than if she hadn’t slept enough.

But since she was already up, she couldn’t possibly go back to sleep. She irritably grabbed her hair, forcing herself to get off the bed, took a cold shower in the bathroom, and finally felt somewhat refreshed, though the corners of her eyes still betrayed the persistent irritation and unease.

In her room.

Owen Yapiter had brought back her black single shoulder bag for her. She had been too tired the previous night and had left it untouched on the desk.

Now, Nathalie took a black T-shirt out of the wardrobe to change into, walked to the desk, and took out her phone, which had been off since the previous night, to open it.

The phone’s battery was low, having not been charged all day.

She plugged the phone into the charger and casually glanced at it.

Phones often lag while booting up, and the ones with smaller memory might take a minute or more to start. Nathalie’s phone looked old-fashioned and out of style, yet it booted up extremely quickly, taking only two to three seconds.

Immediately after, countless messages popped in.

There were also several missed calls.

Nathalie was feeling annoyed with a headache as she picked up her phone and skimmed through the messages.

Filtering out what she deemed unimportant, such as missed calls from ’Uncle Sullivan,’ her attention was caught by an important message.

Freddy Cagwin had called her, and there was an unread message!
