The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 511: Chapter 511: It Can’t Possibly Be Herself Who Knows Mr. Yapiter_1

Ivy Wilmar was frazzled and confused; she couldn’t figure out why Owen Yapiter would get involved in this matter, but since Simon Cadwell was still here, in front of him, she did not want to show her weakness. She pinched the palm of her hand, pursed her lips, and her face looked terribly pale as she said, ”Maybe it has something to do with the Zachmann Family...”

As soon as she said it, she didn’t quite believe it herself.

Owen Yapiter was no ordinary person; the Zachmann Family did not have the influence to compel him.

If she herself did not believe what she was saying, how could Juan Wilmar?

”How come I’ve never heard before of any association between the Zachmann Family and Mr. Yapiter?”

Trying to muster some energy, Ivy Wilmar spoke with less conviction, ”The circle is so small, as long as one is willing to look for someone, inevitably some connections can be found. Mr. Zachmann was famous for his networking skills when he was young, so finding this kind of connection is not strange.”

”I think Mr. Yapiter’s attitude...”

Ivy Wilmar interrupted him, stating decisively, ”It’s impossible that she knows Mr. Yapiter herself. I don’t believe it, that would be too fantastical!”

Juan Wilmar said nothing, just stood there with pursed lips, his face color anyway looked pretty bad.

He had a gut feeling that Owen Yapiter knew Nathalie Quinlan, not because he visited for someone else’s sake, but specifically for Nathalie herself.

With this thought, he became increasingly agitated and somewhat regretted his rash interference in this matter.

Owen Yapiter’s car was parked outside the police station. He hadn’t come in, instead sending his driver to handle the bail procedures for Nathalie Quinlan.

In a short while, Nathalie emerged from the police station.

She wasn’t carrying much, just wearing a hoodie. Her clothes were in disarray, some parts stained with blood, loosely hanging on her, completely shapeless.

Fortunately, her temperament was not of the meek type.

The air of defiance around her appeared even stronger.

Throughout the ride, the driver kept stealing glances at her, as if trying to figure her out.

What could he do? He had never seen Mr. Yapiter so concerned about anyone. To bail out Ms. Quinlan, Mr. Yapiter had rushed here from a neighboring city, a two-hour drive, even postponing the next day’s conference. Such devotion couldn’t be just any ordinary relationship, though the driver didn’t know exactly what relationship Ms. Quinlan had with Mr. Yapiter. After all, he had never heard about Mr. Yapiter having a granddaughter this old...

Soon, the Yapiter Family’s driver led her to the front of the car, and although he harbored doubts, he still said with utmost respect, ”Ms. Quinlan, please get in the car first.”

...

Owen Yapiter was also in the car, the extended Mercedes offering plenty of space in the back for two people to sit.

As soon as Nathalie got in, Owen Yapiter busily looked her up and down, asking with concern, ”Nathalie, are you alright?”

Nathalie had had no rest throughout the day with exams and flights, followed by a few hours in the interrogation room, now finally showing signs of weariness.

Her eyes were red and glossed over, bloodshot threads just barely visible. She pressed down on the brim of her cap, relaxed her tense back against the seat, stretched her body slightly, shook her head, and said with pursed lips, ”I’m fine. Mr. Cadwell was there; they didn’t give me a hard time.”

Owen Yapiter was worried that someone inconsiderate might have troubled her, but hearing her reassurance, he relaxed, his expression easing, ”It’s good that you’re fine. I was worried about you on the way here and wanted to call, but I was afraid it wouldn’t be convenient for you to answer the phone. Fortunately, you’re alright.”

The Yapiter Family’s driver, in the front, overheard the conversation and stole a glance through the rearview mirror.

Exactly, Mr. Yapiter had urged him to drive faster all the way, rushing as if he wished he could have sprouted wings to fly over.

Nathalie could hear the concern in his voice, her eyes warmed slightly, her fierce demeanor fading away, as she rested her forehead on her hand, her voice filled with a tinge of apology, ”I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to worry you. This favor I owe you...”
