The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 524: Chapter 524: They’re all shrewd, hiding their achievements_1

If it were the Yancey Family’s crown prince, who in McKinney would dare to reveal anything to herself without his approval?

At this moment, Juan Wilmar’s regret was not just ordinary; he deeply regretted getting involved in Jecksen Wilmar’s mess. If he had not gotten involved, he would have had no issues at all.

Now, a single misstep could lead to his utter destruction.

It’s always the smallest ghosts who suffer when gods fight. Wasn’t this little ghost, who had chosen the wrong side, going to be the first to be taken down?!

Juan Wilmar watched Myles Sullivan intently, pinching his own palm to barely suppress his trembling, his face exceedingly embarrassed, and asked only one question, ”Tell me the truth, what’s the deal with that Nathalie Quinlan? How come so many big shots are gathering in McKinney just because she hit someone?”

Damn, this must be some kind of supernatural encounter!

He had seen her records; she is clearly just an ordinary high school student!

*

The ordinary high school student he was preoccupied with had just arrived at No. 1 Middle School to report back from her leave to Nancy Sullivan.

Nancy Sullivan had no classes in the afternoon and had been waiting in the office early, having heard that Nathalie was coming.

As soon as they saw Nathalie Quinlan, the teachers in the office boiled over with excitement.

”Is this the student who scored a perfect score on the Tsinghua University Joint Entrance Exam?”

”Mr. Sullivan, it was something that your class had a student like Wenny Taylor who scored 500 points, but to have someone who scored...” The female teacher couldn’t even finish stating the score, her face full of envy, wishing Nathalie were in her class, ”Tsk, after the college entrance exam ends, when Tsinghua releases the results, I bet the other schools in McKinney will go crazy.”

This time Tsinghua University’s Joint Entrance Exam results were kept tighter than in previous years. Many schools could already look up their students’ scores online, but Tsinghua wouldn’t release its results.

Many online speculated that Tsinghua made the exam too difficult this time, leading to poor performance by the students who took it, so the university was reluctant to release the scores for fear of losing face when compared to other schools.

Only a few people were privy to the inside story.

The reason Tsinghua was keeping the Joint Entrance Exam results under wraps wasn’t that the students performed poorly, but because one student who came to take the exam performed too well!

They feared that other schools would poach this outstanding candidate they had yet to formally record, taking advantage before the college entrance exam!

Moreover, Nathalie Quinlan was the only person whom both honorary professors at their school, Mr. Avalon and Mr. Norton, had taken an interest in.

If Nathalie Quinlan did not attend Tsinghua,

both professors, who had agreed to come out of retirement, might just go back to their former lives!

The university administration wouldn’t bother with such thankless tasks, so they made sure to keep the scores especially confidential, so tight that many within Tsinghua itself were unaware of the Joint Entrance Exam results.

”It seems that the examples of excellent essays for the college entrance exam that I prepared for Nathalie Quinlan really came in handy.” The homeroom teacher of Class C, a man with an eternally cheerful face as round as the Maitreya Buddha, was holding a thermos cup, slapping Nathalie’s shoulder with a face full of pride, ”Kid, well done! You’ve made us proud at No. 1 Middle School!”

Nancy Sullivan was not yet aware of the hold-up with Nathalie’s records and had no knowledge of the incidents involving Freddy Cagwin these past days. Seeing Nathalie return, she looked extremely satisfied and a rare smile crossed her usually stern face as she took the leave form from Nathalie, saying gently, ”The leave I approved for you doesn’t end until tomorrow. You just got back; why not rest a bit more? No need to rush over here.”

Nathalie’s gaze was wild, her hands in her pockets, as she answered nonchalantly, ”I’ve made plans to have a meal with my classmates. Since I’m already back, I thought I’d come over to report back from leave first.”

”That’s fine, too.” Nancy Sullivan said, then remembered something, ”Oh right, the principal asked me to tell you something.”

”?”

Nathalie raised her eyebrows in inquiry.

With a smile, Nancy Sullivan said, ”About the college entrance exam.”
