The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 489: Chapter 489: Gloating and Waiting for a Spectacle_1

She looked at Ivy Wilmar still on the phone and felt bored again, she whispered to the person who was on the call, ”Aunt, I’ll go upstairs to practice...”

Before she could finish her sentence, she heard Ivy Wilmar’s voice, filled with anger and surprise, speaking to the person on the other end of the phone, ”Who did you say?”

Ghania Quinlan’s eyebrows twitched, and she suppressed the urge to react, feeling that Ivy Wilmar’s response was unusual.

In a blink of an eye, Ivy Wilmar had finished her phone call, put down her phone, and wore a gloomy expression on her carefully made-up face. Suddenly, she turned her head and glared at Ghania Quinlan fiercely, asking her in a deep voice, ”When did your dad call you?”

”Uh...” Ghania Quinlan’s heart skipped a beat, seeing the anger on her aunt’s face, she carefully reined in her eyes and lied, ”...half an hour ago, on my way back.”

”Aunt, what’s wrong?” she immediately asked.

”...”

Ivy Wilmar’s face was very unpleasant, and she was so preoccupied that she didn’t bother with the loose shawl on her shoulders, speaking coldly, ”Nathalie Quinlan beat up Jecksen Wilmar.”

”What?”

Ghania Quinlan doubted her ears, stunned on the spot for a long time without moving, ”Nathalie beat up Mr. Wilmar?”

Has Nathalie lost her mind?

Jecksen Wilmar was Ivy Wilmar’s own younger brother, a man of the Wilmar Family in Beijing!

Her first reaction was that Nathalie had gone crazy, but then again, she couldn’t help feeling delighted.

Nathalie was always holed up in that tiny spot in McKinney, thinking that knowing Silvania Ingram was enough to boss people around outside. Now, she had hit Jecksen Wilmar.

Was Silvania Ingram more powerful than Ivy Wilmar?

The Pinecone Group was just a company, and Silvania Ingram was merely a businessman. Her connections were limited, and the circles she knew were limited too. How could she compare to Ivy Wilmar who mingled in Beijing every day, with a broad range of knowledge, knowing more people, and having a stronger family backing?

Nathalie relied on Silvania Ingram’s support to dare to lay a hand on Jecksen Wilmar. This time, she probably wouldn’t end up in jail, but she was bound to be skinned, Ghania Quinlan thought, her lips curling up in a barely suppressed smile of pleasure.

She had been worried about Nathalie getting into Tsinghua University before, but now, whether Nathalie could go to Tsinghua smoothly was another question altogether.

”Mr. Wilmar is okay, right?” she feigned concern.

”I heard he had three ribs broken and is still unconscious in the hospital.”

In the past, Ivy Wilmar would have seen through Ghania Quinlan’s little games, but right then all of Ivy Wilmar’s attention was on her younger brother who was beaten and in the hospital, and she didn’t notice Ghania Quinlan’s lips curling up in delight.

”Heh, she really went for it,” Ivy Wilmar said with a venomous look in her eyes, clutching her phone tightly, and said harshly, ”I never understood why your mom disliked her so much. Now, I finally get it. She is a wolf in sheep’s clothing!”

”What kind of deep grudge does she have to break Jecksen’s three ribs? If she can’t explain this properly, I’m not letting this go!”

Ivy Wilmar was so enraged she was practically seething, and after dropping her harsh words, she pursed her lips and began packing up, while telling Ghania Quinlan, ”I need to make a trip to McKinney.”

”If your uncle asks when he comes back, you tell him about the great things his niece has done.”

Ghania Quinlan almost laughed out loud, but she held it back, trying not to let her smile show too much, and with her head down, she obediently responded, ”I know, Aunt. Don’t worry, I’ll tell him when uncle comes back.”

Ivy Wilmar hastily packed up, secured an airplane ticket through her connections, still feeling unable to swallow her fury, and before leaving, she made another phone call with the phone in hand.

On the other side, Jeff Quinlan had finished washing up and changing his clothes, ready to go to bed. Just as he entered the bedroom, his phone rang.
